HG5547 Thanks to our friendly competitor Sopwith for furnishing identification information on this revolver. From the estate of our favorite Pennsylvanian comes this Iver Johnson ancestor, a .22 Short Black Powder cartridge revolver labeled simply as the Smoker No. 1. It was manufactured by Johnson & Bye some time around 1877, serial number range is 1700. Barrel is 2 1/2 inch nickel; finish is nickel with old casehardened hammer and trigger. Since the cylinder finish is gone, it may have been blued to begin with. Frame and barrel finish will probably rate Good, but photos should suffice for our shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Mechanically, this old revolver is operable and tight. We want to point out that this is a black powder cartridge revolver, and if anyone actually wanted to try and shoot it, they ought to stay away from modern ammunition. Perhaps a CB short might serve, but nothing stronger than that. Cylinder alignment and timing appear to be good. Bore and cylinder chambers do not show outright pitting, but do have etchy texture to their surfaces as the photos will show. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges.
