LG2579 Here is a fully traditional Savage-Stevens Single shot from the early 1950s that comes to us from the estate of our favorite Pennsylvania hillbilly. Stock and forend are American Walnut, and the color casehardening on its receiver is still strong. Barrel is blue steel, cut to a 20 inch cylinder bore. It served our old friend, he wrote, as camping pack piece. Surface detractions are only moderate, some light scouring to the walnut; freckling here and there on the finish; and whitening to the alloy trigger guard edges. We only detect one hairline crack on the left side behind the receiver, with no sign of separation. Length of pull is the original 13 3/4 inches, and the bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. We’re offering this good old Pennsylvania camper for only $ 99.95.
