Remington Model 32TC 12ga. –ENGRAVED, GOLD, UMBERGER STOCK, WOW!
The Remington Model 32 Over/Under was a brutishly strong gun well ahead of its time when introduced in 1932. It was a relatively short production run ending in the mid-1940’s with only 5000 guns produced. The Remington Model 32 made the Field and Stream magazine’s “TOP 5O GUNS EVER MADE”. Many do not realize that the Model 32 design was sold to and used by Krieghoff in its super popular K-80. That’s right, look at the locking mechanism and action design---K-80 is a copy of the Model 32 with the inevitable improvements time always provides. This particular shotgun, referred to as the Target Grade, serial number 4553 was made around 1938 and is in excellent mechanical condition. It has been tastefully upgraded with deep chiseled engraving, 3 gold inlays of dogs and birds, bone and charcoal case colored, and RESTOCKED BY BRENT UMBERGER OF OHIO. Brent Umberger was a master stocker of noted fame that specialized in target guns. His work is very sought after and simply gorgeous. This is a ONE OF A KIND MODEL 32 with knock out good looks.
The 30” barrels are choked M/XF, great bores, minimum barrel wall thickness of 33 thousandths under, 40 thousandths over, blue is 100%, no dents or dings, barrels tight on breech face and hinge, all in excellent shape.
The receiver has excellent screws, 100% bone and charcoal case color (gorgeous colors), action tight with lever centered, ejectors timed to perfection, very nice deep engraving with very well done gold inlays on each side and the bottom of the receiver, single selective trigger with excellent pulls, trigger guard has 100% blue w/no wear.
The wood is richly figured and and finely finished with excellent checkering, no splits, chips or cracks, Brent Umberger installed to perfection, LOP 14 9/16” from rear position trigger to end of Kickeez pad, 1 5/8” drop at heel, 1 11/16” drop at comb, 1/8” cast off (can be altered to your specs for under $200 by bending), excellent wood to metal fit. Umberger promoted guns fitted with a parallel stock comb to reduce felt recoil to the face and negate the effect of LOP on how you shot.
This is a Target Grade gun and weighs 8lbs. 9.6oz balanced right on the hinge pin. The weight will help absorb felt recoil and keep your barrels moving on crossing shots. The Remington Model 32 is a historically important gun and one of the first successful American over/under shotguns. They shoot long and hard and this gun will steal the show when you show up at the club to show your buddies how it is done. The engraving and wood are exceptionally well done. The stock job from would exceed my asking price for the gun today.
