This listing is for the exact revolver in the photos. Here is Charter’s Undercover in Original Blue Finish. Manufacturer was Charter Arms Corp / Bridgeport, Conn., and so marked on the barrel. From its 204000 range serial number, it was manufactured in 1973. Type is traditional double and single action pocket revolver with transfer bar internal safety device. Construction is steel barrel, cylinder, yoke, pin, hammer, trigger, main frame and internal parts combined with an alloy barrel shroud and grip frame / trigger guard. Caliber is .38 Smith & Wesson Special, with a 5 shot swing out cylinder. Barrel is one piece 3 inch eight groove 1:18 rifling, without any ejector pin shroud. Sights are barrel integral blade front, with frame integral fixed notch rear. Trigger is .312 serrated face, with matching serrated spur hammer. Grip panels are factory walnut, magna service type. Weight empty is 15 1/2 ounces, with center of gravity at mid cylinder. Overall length is 7 1/2 inches, by 4 inch height, with a cylinder diameter of 1.30 inches. Double Action trigger pull is 10 pound vicinity, with crisp 3 pounds single action trigger pull. Finish is polished surface blue barrel, cylinder assembly, and trigger, with semi gloss black anodized grip frame assembly and case colored hammer. Main frame is attractive early Charter salt blue with purple tint. Main frame has a faint indentation where its number was stamped; that is original to the revolver and quite common with early Charters. Surface detractions are minimal, principally faint edge wear. We rate this Charter as Excellent Condition percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chambers, and mechanism are all bright and clean. Cylinder aligns correctly on all five positions, and there is no lateral cylinder play. This revolver served in the Caribbean home jurisdiction of Borinquen Air Station, whose operations aimed at Castro’s Cuba and at South- and Central American drug traffickers. Carbon deposits on the cylinder face and top strap are minimal. We do not believe it was actually fired more than 100 times.
