HG7110 This All German Sig-Sauer P-226, 9mm Pistol has served with the Swiss State Police. Note the GV Marked Shield on the forward left side of the slide, Gendarme Vaud, Canton Vaud in Southwest Switzerland contains Lake Geneva. From its KJ date code, it was manufactured in 1998. It comes with its original box. Its only alien markings are the neatly executed importer stamp on the right side of the slide, PW Arms Redmond WA, as required by Federal Law. Slide finish is Black Ice Teflon, more durable than Stainless. Frame finish is original black anodized alloy, retouched on the edges and on the grip frame front strap serrations. Sights are refurbished White Polymer 3 dot. As far as specs on the 226, classification is traditional double action, double action from the decocked position on the first shot, and then single action on subsequent shots during the firing session. The Sig 226, of course, does not have a manually operated safety. It has a decocker lever to put the car in park. Sig has a firing pin block safety that prevents accidental discharge if the pistol is dropped, yet even with that, Sigs always have the best single action trigger pull of all from the factory. This specimen gauges at a crisp 4 pounds with negligible felt creep. Caliber, of course, is standard 9mm. Weight empty is 34 ounces; barrel length is 4.40 inches. Magazine capacity is normally 15 rounds, but this pistol comes with a new Mec-Gar made 18 Shot magazine, the pistol’s only non-German part. Mec-Gar, of course, is the principal manufacturer for Sig factory magazines. Residual surface detractions are negligible; this pistol’s frame had only faint amounts of edge whitening before we retouched it. We rate it as Excellent / Refinish. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is certainly excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean and excellent. Slide to frame fit is tight with no lateral movement. We estimate this 226 has been fired no more than 2000 rounds, no rounds at all for a Sig.
