Here is G&G’s retention-enhanced, model H721A Left Handed Officer holster for traditional, round-trigger-guard Smith & Wesson Duty Pistols, the 4000 and 5900 series guns. This holster came to us Surplus from a California Department, and we only have the One in Left Hand. Surface detractions or wear is moderate to extensive, with some dulling and lizarding to the shiny finish. Interior, bolts and snaps are all excellent mechanically. From the dates of the parent pistols, these holsters were manufactured in the mid to late 1990s. We rate it as Good, perhaps Very Good, but photos ought to suffice for our shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Construction is G&G’s laminated process of high gloss polymer over genuine leather, that yields a shiny Clarino Finish with soft lined interior to help prevent wear to the pistol. This model, of course, is for Right-Handed Shooters. Factory order number on these is H721A, Mid-Ride or Jacket Slot that has Retention features. Near the trigger slot are two hard polymer blocks that prevent the pistol from being drawn from behind. A forward, raking motion cleanly draws the pistol, and all Departments Train their officers for using these holsters. It is, writes the factory, a Mid-ride, Grab-Resistant Holster. Its Dual trigger guard locks plus hammer strap and thumb snap help resist gun grabs. A natural forward-then-up draw puts the service weapon into play. It fits belts up to 2-1/4 inches. This G&G model is made for Smith & Wesson 4000 and 5900 series pistols, including the highly popular models 4006 and 5906, earlier non-TSW models without the rail, and with rounded type two trigger guards like the one on the 5946 in our photos. Factory specs call for 4 inch Barrel, models 4006, 4043, 4046, 5903, 5904, 5906, and 5946 with Full Size Serrated Spur Hammer on the Standard Double-and-Single Action models; and with semi-bobbed hammer on the Double Action Only Handguns, all of which must have the type two Round and Not the old type one Square faced trigger guard. This Holster will fit the old Model 39 and 59 pistols with round trigger guards, but this holster will Not fit the 639, 659 and 459 pistols with square faced trigger guards.
