This listing is for the exact rifle in the photos. Here is a rifle whose production mates fired upon our troops in Vietnam. Manufacturer was Jianshe Arsenal or one of its many satellite factories in Communist China. From its 10 prefix, it was manufactured in 1966. Type is 1956 design, type 56, or SKS semi automatic gas operated carbine with swivel internal magazine. Chambering is 7.62x39 caliber. Construction is milled blue steel barrel, receiver and parts; and Asian Laminated Stock and Hardwood Hand Guard. Barrel is 20 1/2 inch, six groove right hand twist 1:9.45 rifling. Bayonet is original spike type. Sights are elevation adjustable front, and drift adjustable for windage. Rear sight is calibrated flip up military, 600 meter range. Safety is lever type for right handed shooter, behind the trigger guard, up is safe and down is fire. Trigger is .305 smooth faced steel, trigger pull is two stage 8 1/4 pounds with extensive felt creep and overtravel. Buttstock length of pull is 12 1/2 inches from the trigger face to the end of the steel butt plate. Sling and cleaning kit are in place. Stock drop is 2 inches at the comb by 2 1/2 inches at the heel, with a 3/4 inch right hand cant. This rifle was never southpaw friendly. Weight empty is 7 pounds 11 ounces centered at the breech face. Numbers match on the receiver, bolt, cowl, trigger guard, magazine, and even the stock’s cartouches. Importer stamp is on left side of receiver, PTK from Atlanta. Finish is smooth blue metal with chrome plated bayonet blade, bolt, and with chrome lined bore. Surface detractions are negligible, only very light scouring on the stock. We rate this rifle as Excellent and Unissued Condition, 95 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves.
