It was not until 1993 that Glock’s German neighbors at Heckler & Koch brought forth the solution to many of our objections with the Universal Self loading Pistol, the USP, in 3 different calibers and 7 different variants. By 1996, Heckler and Koch met market demand with this compact variant. This pistol comes to us from its Illinois civilian owner. Date code is AE, manufactured in 2004. Action is traditional double action; that is, from a resting hammer position it can be fired with the safety off by means of a long double action pull on the first shot, and subsequent shots by means of a 4 to 4 1/2 pound range single action short pull with a moderate amount of felt creep. Safety lever engages so that a person can carry in cocked-and-locked condition with a single action first shot. This is a single safety lever pistol that favors the right handed shooter, but that is reversible by a competent gunsmith. The USP’s slide is machined from a single piece of steel, and houses the polygonal rifled 3.58 inch barrel and firing pin safety. Both slide release and safety lever are extended for ease of operation. Frame is high impact polymer with checkered backstrap and true ambidextrous magazine release. The frame also houses a universal rail system, as the photos show; and HK was the pioneer in this area as well. Sight system is drift adjustable three dot Mepro Night Sights, dovetailed into the slide. From our dark room inspection, the night sights are 80 percent full strength, very strong. Finish is matte blue. Extreme overall length is 6.81 inches; maximum height 5 inches from rear sight top to floorplate, and grip frame thickness is only 1 1/4 inches at its widest. Weight empty on this USP40 is 24 1/2 ounces. Hammer is .330 bobbed but acessible, with .400 serrated center polymer trigger. This pistol comes with both its original factory Law Enforcement marked 13 round factory HK magazines, plus a 10 shot ban period magazine. It is in its original box with instruction manual, adjustment wrenches, fired brass envelope, and California Compliant cable lock. This pistol has been well maintained, and its surface detractions amount to mimimal finish weakness to the right slide edge. We classify it as Excellent Condition, since no more than 5 to 10 percent of its finish is affected by wear in our estimation. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Replacement pricing on this pistol, current H&K product code 704001, is upwards of $1000 in our area. We’re offering this one, however, for only $ 739.00. Transferable to eligible civilians in all jurisdictions of these United States. For civilian buyers in jurisdictions where the 13 round magazines are restricted, we will sub two factory full size 10 rounders along with the compact 10. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
