This Winchester Model 94 has some light rust spotting on both sides of the receiver and two scratches on the sides of the end of the barrel. BlueBook says it was made before 1992 as it has no crossbolt safety. But BlueBook says nothing about a Model 94 with a silver-star badge on the stock and a wide forearm and it says nothing about a V-Series serial number. A gunbroker reader writes that the "V" serial number indicates production by Winchester for Sears in the 1960s. The silver-star badge and the wide forearm are very likely add-ons by a previous owner. BlueBook on Winchester 94: The Model 94s w/crossbolt safety (1 mfg.) are not as desirable as those models w/o the crossbolt safety manufactured pre-1992, unless a rare variation, configuration and/or caliber is involved. MODEL 94 STANDARD MODEL - .30-30 Win., .32 Win. Spl. (disc. 1973, reintroduced 1992), 7-30 Waters (new 1989), .44 Mag. (mfg. circa late 1960s-1970s), .44 Spl. (mfg. 1984), .444 Marlin (mfg. 1984), or .45 LC (mfg. 1984) cal., lever action, 6 or 7 (24 in. barrel only) shot tube mag., 20 or 24 (mfg. 1987-88 only) in. round barrel, open sights, straight walnut stock, two barrel bands on forearm, Angle Eject became standard 1984, 6 1/2 lbs. Mfg. 1.
