Description: We have come across only a few of the resurrected Model 1950 .44 Military Smith & Wesson .44 Specials, the model 21-4, in 4 inch pencil barrel with the highly distinctive and attractive Thunder Ranch logo and designation. The parent revolver with numbered model designation is, as Supica and Nahas point out in the Standard Catalog is Too rare to estimate value. The model was reintroduced in 2004 as a lock variant round butt Model 21-4 Classic. All the specimens we have come across in the past 3 years have been round butt grip frame, 4 inch barrels. As nearly as we can determine, these are now discontinued, even though they are currently listed on the Smith & Wesson factory web page. We only have a few of these, and our photo sample was test fired in 2005 at the factory in Springfield, Massachusetts. Factory specs are as follows: .44 S&W Caliber, traditional double and single action; 4 inch barrel; 9 ¼ in OAL; 37 Oz. weight; Large Frame Carbon Steel; Bright Blue frame, cylinder and barrel; Altamont Wood grips; Service Rear sight and pinned ½ moon front sight; MIM Color Casehardened trigger and traditional hammernose hammer; 6 rounds capacity; internal lock with two keys; and factory gold plated Thunder Ranch sideplate insignia. We had several of these in 2008, but now only one left, the 21-4 in the photo. Photos cannot, however, do justice to these fine revolvers. They are faithful, actually improved, descendants of the parent model, the .44 Military first produced in 1926, and they have the graceful, attractive lines of their ancestors that were state-of-the-art among G-Men enforcing prohibition. This 21-4 is in its original flat blue box; and it also has its factory glass-top presentation case, marked Thunder Ranch etched into the glass lid, as the photos show. Own this fine, graceful N-frame Revolver, complete with wood case, for only $ 639.95. Not transferable to civilians in California, Chicago, Oak Park IL, D.C., Massachusetts, or New York City. Since D.C. circumvented Heller simply by adopting California regulations, we anticipate that possibility for Chicago and New York City now that the McDonald ruling has come down. Don't want the display case? We'll discount $30.00 without it. Handguns: $15 flat fee shipping to the lower 48 states; $20 to Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico. We accept checks with no more than 7 days hold. MC or Visa phone- or fax-in orders shipped same day; USPS Money Order paid items shipped same day. Cashier's checks are a waste of time & money; we hold them longer than we do personal checks. We require initial payment of at least 20% down within 7 days of offers to buy; otherwise we relist. We can accept FFLs not only in the mail, but also by scan or fax, so long as they are legible and signed. We always include our FFL gun lock and a copy of the Federal Youth Firearms Safety Act brochure with handgun orders in order to make the transferring dealer's life easy. We offer a 7 day money back return privilege, excluding return shipping and also excluding NIB guns and lay-aways. We accept lay-away with 20% down, balance in 90 days - lay aways not refundable, though. Our phone number is at the bottom of this ad. Internet phone hours 8:30 - 4 CST Mon - Sat CST. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
