Description: We recall fondly the early Reagan Years when the first Detonics Pistols began showing up here in the West Tennessee Hills. We tried them on our improvised ranges, and they printed tighter groups than our dolled up Series 70 Colts, in a much smaller package. Detonics pistols have earned their stripes, and our respect, over the past quarter Century, and the effects of that pioneering design helped preserve John M. Browning's firm hand on compact pistols. Even though Colt followed suit with similar variants within a decade, the Detonics brand holds a fond and respected place in our hearts, even more endeared by the Company's tenure in our Sister State of Georgia. Here is one of the last of the Detonics pistols manufactured in Pendergrass, Georgia, a Service Master that we call semi-compacted, since its grip frame measures only ½ inch shorter than a standard Government 1911 pistol, but ½ inch longer than the smallest Detonics pistol, the Combat Master. The Service Master will accept any Government Size .45 Magazine, and its standard magazine is the same size as the Colt Officer’s ACP, Colt Part # SP55984B. We have those in stock, by the way, in blue steel. This Service Master’s construction is entirely stainless steel. It features the original, innovative Detonics system with its trademark cone ramped bull bell-nosed barrel, integral slide bushing, full length two piece guide rod and triple spring system whose unquestionable accuracy capability has left a profound mark on 1911 handgunning. Trigger is traditional serrated stainless with overtravel adjustment. This specimen is brand new in its original black plastic case, but it has no papers or instruction manual. We originally acquired it in 2008 on closeout from Detonics' own distribution system because it was an excellent value in a World Class handgun. The fact that it was manufactured in the South influenced us as well, the best independently manufactured firearm in our region. Caliber, of course, is .45 ACP. Grips are traditional Walnut Diamond design checkered with the Detonics Logo. Finish is very attractive, very durable natural stainless steel. The distinctive Detonics Service Master slide houses no-nonsense black low profile combat sights with a compact 5 inch sight radius. The barrel itself is 4 1/4 inch Commander Size, and capacity is 7 plus 1. This Service Master comes with its original Factory Metalforms Stainless magazine. Hammer is match grade skeleton variant Commander type, and this pistol comes with High Ride Beavertail Grip Safety and 25 line-per-inch checkered stainless steel mainspring housing. It is a thoroughly Match Grade pistol. This specimen has been exclusively owned by one of our local distinguished Vietnam Veterans, and it has been fired fewer than 300 times. Surface detractions are minimal; we rate it as Excellent in Box, since no more than 10 percent of its surfaces are affected by any kind of contact evidence. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. It is certainly excellent mechanically. It is in its original factory box with factory and distributor barcodes, and it has its instruction manual. These fine pistols command prices in our area of $1,000 apiece if indeed a person can find one nowadays. We’re offering the Service Master in the photos, however, for only $ 839.95 Not transferable to civilians in California, copycat District of Columbia, or Massachusetts. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Handguns: $15 flat fee shipping to the lower 48 states; $20 to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, USPS Priority Mail, insured with Delivery Confirmation. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
