LG1413 Here is a distinctive variant of Mossberg’s their Military Tactical 500 series shotguns, a Special Purpose 500 Tactical with Military Parkerized Finish and Trench Gun style protective heat shield. Chambering is for 2 3/4 inch or 3 inch shells; barrel is 18 1/2 inch cylinder bore; hex base brass bead sight; Magazine Capacity 5 + 1 on 2 3/4 inch shells, or 4 + 1 on 3 inch shells. This specimen has the traditional Mossberg tang safety, a definite plus for left-handed shooters and even a faster surer safety for stressful situations. Construction is steel barrel, tube, and internal parts with lightweight alloy receiver. Finish is water and sweat resistance military parkerized. Weight empty is a well balanced 7 pounds. This specimen is what we call a factory demo, a showpiece for Mossberg’s sales team that has been in Mossberg Corporate custody until we got it. Surface detractions are negligible, only faint amounts of cartage scuffing and very faint operation streaking on the slide arms and magazine tube. We rate it as Excellent, perhaps Near Mint in Box; but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is certainly excellent mechanically. It is in its factory box, or re-box, with instruction manual and factory cable lock. It carries a six month factory warranty.
