This is a Springfield 1863 Trapdoor (in the white). This is an all-original (matching serial numbers-see pictures) historical piece with the “U.S. Springfield” roll mark and the American Eagle emblem stamped on the side plate (1863). The metal is in excellent condition (92%- small rust spots on tip of barrel and on butt plate). The wood has no chips or cracks (just a few handling marks and light surfaces scratches). The ram rod is in excellent condition with a nice patina. The action is tight and the springs are strong. The bore is sharp and free of pitting or rust. This fine historic rife is in overall beautiful condition. I had my local gunsmith verify that it was safe to shoot, and he deemed it as such. I accept gold or silver (at spot price) for either a full or partial payment. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, or comments. Thanks for looking!
