From the estate of our favorite Pennsylvania hillbilly comes this genuine U.S. Made Snake Charmer, a second generation specimen with the dial safety on its receiver, manufactured by Sporting Arms company in Littlefield, Texas. The currently made Snake Charmers, in chronic short supply, are made in Turkey by a French Company, of all people. This is a two-tone specimen, blued 18 1/16 inch barrel with hard chrome receiver. Since our late friend lived on the western age of the Timber Rattler’s domain range, and since he had no more faith than we do, he carried this Snake Charmer religiously, and even outfitted it with a handy 1 inch nylon sling. It shows extensive surface scouring on its buttstock and receiver, a moderate amount of inconspicuous freckling on its matte blue barrel, and extensive toning on its receiver’s upper and lower surfaces from carrying. Note the surface rust residue on top of the barrel next to the front sling swivel device; bore is not affected. Lower seam of the buttstock has been glassed from the sling installation operation. We rate it as Very Good, seventy percent range on finish grade, but photos ought to suffice so that our devout shoppers can judge finish grade for themselves. As far as specs, action is single shot breech lever type shotgun; 3 inch chamber, half cock hammer and hammer block dial receiver safety; overall length 28 1/2 inches with extra ammunition compartment in the synthetic buttstock. Weight empty is only 46 ounces, little more than a Government .45. Replacement pricing on the current French-Turkish Snake Charmers in our area is upwards of $300 apiece, if a person can even find one.
