This Rifle is in really good "working" condition although not a collectors rifle. For what I know about my uncle, he rarly used it.The rifle looks to have be cared for though with regular cleaning and oiling. It has the plastic stock, not the wooden one and it comes with 4 tubes (4x10=40 slugs) of ammo. I would love to keep it but just not the right time.
A brief history of what I know about this rifle...
The Daisy VL22 was manufactured in 1968-69. It was designed by Jules van Langenhoven (VL). It was a cross between an Airgun and a firearm.Daisy made these rifles they used a form of gun powder and the BATFE ruled it to be a firearm so the rifle was discontinued and only made between 1968-69. The were not particular Accurate but fired at 1150 FPS. And that is very fast for a rifle in that time period. Today air rifles are just starting to reach that speed without gunpowder. The rifle used a caseless air-ignited cartridge. Approx 19,000 were made.
