SS# 2xxx From a mid-west estate sale a WWII Japanese Military issue rifle with partially ground mum, Matching Serial Numbers, Anti-Aircraft Sights, propaganda poster, war time currency and Japanese soldiers war time photos. At the sale they said based on the photos and poster that this was a hospital rifle but I have no way to prove this. I don't know how to tell the cal. but it is either 6.5 or 7.7. (sorry I don't know what model this gun is)However at the sale they said this was a Type 99 Kokura and was 7.7 cal. The wood stock is in good condition with no cracks or chips however there are dents and dings from war time use. The butt plate is made of metal, the mum is partially ground and the aircraft sights are complete (see photos). The metal finish is OK with a lot of the original finish in tact on the receiver and the 26" barrel (see photos). I am not a collector or an expert and know very little about this type of gun (therefore I took photos of every mark or stamp I could find on the outside of the gun but don't know how to take it apart). At the sale the only other information about the gun was that it belonged to a WWII vet. I do not know who the soldiers were in the photos. Although I have not shot this gun, it appears to function perfectly but has a dark bore (I have not cleaned it). The gun came with the Japanese currency (which I also know nothing about), a propaganda poster and four photos. (see photos). We trade guns. Satisfaction guaranteed (see my feedback).
