And no matter how much premium ammunition comes on the market, our hard-headed old bunch around here laugh it off, and would pay more for the Core-Lokt round than the new stuff. They even laughed off the .444 Marlin and all other marketing gimmicks for the past 50 years, in favor of this round more than any other for multiple terrain hunting here. Remington number is R30064, 180 grain Core-Lokt Round Nose Soft Point. It's hard to argue, too, with the one-shot kills we've checked in over the past 40 years since deer hunting opened East of US 45. At almost 3,000 foot pounds of energy and almost 2700 feet per second, it's not hard to figure out. And the Remington 742 softens the punch from these big 180s. Even in normal times, we only keep a few boxes to keep from being run out of Chester County. Newcomers to our county beware belittling the venerable .30-06. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges.
