We are offering for sale a WWI era COLT 1911 semi-automatic pistol chambered in .45ACP. This pistol, with serial # 417717, was manufactured in 1918 and is a Military Issued pistol marked both “U.S. ARMY” and “United States Property”. With signs of original bluing in protected areas this gun is in very nice condition and would make a wonderful addition to anyones collection.
5” barrel is very good with a bright, clean bore showing very good rifling. Slide and frame show signs of wear, age and patina. Slide is marked “Model 1911 U.S. Army” on right side; Frame reads “United States Property” on left side. Frame also has what appears to be a “S6” on left side behind trigger. Trigger guard is marked with a “41”, matching the serial number. ORIGINAL wooden double diamond grips are very good with nice authentic field wear; No breaks or cracks. Original magazine shows surface wear, oxidation. Gun functions flawlessly and has been disassembled and thoroughly oiled.
