As early as the 1960s, almost as soon as Smith & Wesson's 39 and 59 series of pistols hit the market, law enforcement specialists began demanding compact variants. The Devel and ASP custom guns gained popularity with federal agents, including the Secret Service, all variants of the S&Ws. It was not until 1983 that Smith & Wesson began paying serious attention to demand for compact autos. The Company's first response was this specimen's immediate ancestor, the Model 469, popularly known simply as the Mini. The 669 in lightweight stainless followed in 1985, and the 6900 series began in 1988. Here is a specimen with the later, rounded serrated trigger guard from 1991, according to its THE serial number prefix. Note also the pinned-in ambidextrous safety, and non-obtrusive rounded anodized three-dot sights. Hammer is classic satin stainless with 4 serrations; and trigger is first type .365 smooth combat, also in satin stainless. Frame, of course, is specially coated lightweight alloy, and the pistol weighs only 26.5 ounces empty. Curved backstrap one-piece grip matches the anodized sights and high impact magazine finger-rest type floorplate; and note the black follower that only admits 12 round magazine capacity. These are dimensionally compact pistols but they have double-stacked magazine wells; that is, they will operate with even the huge 20 round magazines that S&W marketed for its 5900. This 6906 will readily accept any 59 or 5900 magazine, and we are including one with a custom Precision brand adapter sleeve. This fine little pistol's distinctive barrel configuration made it so accurate that Smith & Wesson retooled its full size pistols' barrels as well. Barrel, of course, is 3 1/2 inch stainless, and its muzzle configuration made for positive lockup and superb accuracy for many thousands of rounds. Surface detractions only amount to faint buffing on the sharp edges of the metal. We classify it as Excellent Condition, since no more than 10 percent of its surfaces are affected by our estimate. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. One of the best things about this 6906 is that it has more safety features than any other currently produced pistols: firing pin safety, ambidextrous main safety, and even a magazine safety. We’re offering this fine light Smith & Wesson 6906 9mm, complete with extra magazine, factory instruction manual, cable lock, and current production factory blue box for only $ 459.95 Not transferable to civilians in California, the District of Columbia, or Massachusetts. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
