We do not have serialization information on Delta Gold Cups. Fjiestad only mentions two light production runs from the Colt Custom Shop, 1989 – 1993, and again in 1. This one's serial number is DB046xx, and we estimate it was produced during the first run, probably around 1990. This one came to us from a retired police officer's collection in Illinois. It has been carried, it appears, more than fired. Surface contact evidence is only moderate, with faint amounts of buffing visible on the matte areas including one disassembly scour between the slide stop and trigger. We rate it as Very Good, close to Excellent, finishwise since no more than 15 percent of its finish is affected from contact. Photos, at any rate, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are bright, clean, and excellent. Trigger pull is a crisp original 5 3/8 pounds with negligible creep. Hogue grips, of course, are not original but they are the best choice for protracted firing sessions on a 10mm. Extended slide release and main safety are add ons, and the main safety is polished stainless. Other extras appear to be Colt factory on this Delta Gold Cup; 5 inch match grade stainless barrel; adjustable aluminum skeleton trigger; beveled magazine well; beavertail grip safety; 9 + 1 round capacity with total of three factory stainless magazines; full length hexagonal guide rod with buffered double recoil springs. Finish is entirely stainless steel; single action only pistol; combat commander hammer; original rear sight that is adjustable for windage and elevation; and dovetail dot front sight. This is, of course, a quite rare pistol. We are including a Colt factory box and instruction manual.
