Description: Here is a very nice, thoroughly traditional, early Tompkins era Smith & Wesson .44 Magnum Stainless, numbered Model 629-1. Its BAN serial number dates it to sometime early in President Reagan’s final year in office, 1988. Pachmayr SN-G Grips with logos are period correct. This 629 has .400 smooth Combat Trigger and .500 serrated Target Hammer, both of them in Satin Stainless. Frame is N, Square Butt Grip Frame. Surface detractions are minimal; they only amount buffing on the sides of the top strap from a B-Square no-drill scope mount, and some holster buffing on the right side of the frame forward of the side plate. We estimate that no more than 10 percent of the finish is affected, so we classify it as Excellent Condition. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Sights are original adjustable White Outline Rear and Red Ramp front. Weight empty is 47 3/4 ounces. This 629 is Excellent mechanically. Blast effect to the under side of the frame top strap directly above the barrel's forcing cone is minimal, only a faint shallow etchy impress that traverses most of the width of the top strap. Double action trigger pull is smooth and consistent, and the hammer travels a full 10 to 15 degrees after the cylinder times in all six positions on double action. On single action, the hammer travels full 25 degrees after timing on all six, and the single action trigger pull is a crisp 3 7/8 pounds. Lateral play to the cylinder is negligible, no more than 1/2 mm total with the trigger relaxed; and we detect no movement whatsoever with the trigger fully depressed. Bore, cylinder chambers, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Cylinder face to forcing cone gap is a tight .005. From our knowledge of the Iowa owner, this revolver has been fired fewer than 300 rounds. We are including a new production Smith & Wesson blue case. We're offering this very nice Reagan Era 629-1 six inch for only $ 619.00 Not transferable to civilians in California, the District of Colombia, or Massachusetts. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> $10 lower 48; $30 Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, USPS Priority Mail, insured with Delivery Confirmation. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
