This is a Colt 1911 Navy semiautomatic pistol. It has been professionally restored by the late Bill Adair of Texas. All the lettering is clear and crisp and the bluing is excellent. The gun is unfired since it's restoration. All the parts are original and it's mechanical function is correct. The gun was produced in 1912 as evidenced by it's 4 digit serial number (5099) and went to the Navy in a lot of 1000. One of only 15,037 pistols supplied to the Navy with the identifying mark on the slide "Model of 1911 U.S. Navy". Caliber of course is 45 ACP with a 5" barrel. These Navy's are extremely hard to find and would make an outstanding addition to any collection/investment. More pictures upon request.
