The 459 set the standard for lightweight Wonder Nine pistols in the 1980s; garbage-mouthed guns that will feed any kind of ammo, from sharp-nosed Federal hollowpoints to lead bullet reloads to steel case Russian and Chinese rounds. Notable competitors Glock and Sig to this day do not share this pistol’s omnivorous diet, thirty years later.
