Here is an authentic, all-GI, World War II U.S. Remington Rifle, model 1903-A3, chambered of course for the venerable .30-06 round. This is a very worthy specimen and it comes to us from one of our police collector friends in Alabama. Barrel is Remington, dated 11-43, and serial number range is correct, 4094000. Bolt appears to be arsenal replacement, a correct fit but with mismatched numbers and blue finish instead of the light gray parkerized finish on the rest of the rifle’s metal. Finish is very light coloration with moderate whitening on the sharp edges. Stock is GI Walnut with Remington cartouches dimmed by old arsenal refinishing, but the refinish also dulls the surface mars. Bore is Excellent; we do not detect any pitting whatsoever. We rate this 03A3 as Very Good, but photos ought to suffice so that our distinguished shoppers can judge finish grade for themselves. We’re offering this fine old Springfield for only $ 889.95.
