This is one of many WW1 contract revolvers from Orbea Hermanos in Spain which is a copy of the Smith & Wesson 44 cal rev. This one was a 1916 contract in 10.35 or more commonly known as 10.4 Italian Ord. rev. cal.Often revolvers were a private purchase by officers, and these were used in WWI. Caliber is 10.35 much like the .44 S&W Russian caliber but a shorter case. Gun is much more rugged than a S&W but without a side plate like S&W.Heavy , stout well mad handgun! Barrel is 5 1/4" long with a very good bore. Locks up tight, and indexes good, with horn pressed grips in good condition.
