Its barrel is 22 inch heavy barrel with Weaver or Picatinny Scope Mount base. It still has its hammer extension. This rifle shows only faint amounts of scouring on the sides of its forend, with small surface peels next to the added-on swivel or bipod stud. Laminated hardwood buttstock is excellent with minimal scouring, and length of pull is 14 1/4 inches including a 1-inch recoil pad. This is an excellent little rifle, well balanced, that weighs between 6 and 7 pounds. Finish is matte blue with traditional H&R color casehardening on the hammer and trigger. Rifling is 1:9, suitable for heavy bullets. We get good-enough local accuracy reports from these, usually around 2 MOA groups with a variety of bullet weights. This is not, after all, a Model 700 Varmint. The .223 is legal for deer now in Tennessee, and has long been legal in Texas and several other states. Replacement price on these little rifles is presently $300 apiece or more in our area.
