Description: This very nice Ruger Mini 14 rifle was manufactured in our nation’s Bicentennial Year 1976, and it spent its career in California with the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department under the leadership of Sheriff Charles Plummer during its career. Counting its service, then, during the 1980s, it served well under two Great Californians, including President Reagan. Serial number is 180-314xx, so it is part of the third year of production, the optimal year for quality since the first year’s run are often suspect for functioning. Rate of twist is the slowest of all Mini-14s, 1 in 10, and these were best for 52 grain and lighter bullets, including our staple stock 40 grain Fiocchi ammo loaded with Hornady Ballistic Tip bullets. Surface wear is extensive but not too conspicuous, substantial amounts of patrol wear and brown patina on the metal, with extensive whitening on the sharp edges. Hand guard and underside of the stock have hairline cracks that have been professionally corrected and refinished. We rate this early Mini-14 as Good to Very Good, since it grades at 70 percent in our estimation. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. It is Excellent mechanically. Rotation whitening to the bolt surfaces is only moderate, and we estimate that this rifle has been fired fewer than 1000 rounds, no rounds at all for this the toughest .223 ever produced. Specs are as follows: Semi-auto Garand Style Gas Operated Rifle with early style ejector anchor. Barrel is 18 inch milled blue steel with pinned-on ramp style front blade sight that matches the smooth-shouldered adjustable aperture rear sight. Forend cover is walnut-stained hardwood, and the stock proper is identical material that measures 12 1/2 inches for its length of pull from the center of its smooth faced .265 blue steel trigger to the center of its concave glossy anodized aluminum buttplate. Swivels are period correct permanent 1 inch. Magazine is new replacement factory Ruger 20 round, and that was the correct magazine when these rifles were first issued. We’re offering this attractive, eminently serviceable and historic 34-year-old Ruger Mini-14 for only $ 469.95. Civilian residents in jurisdictions where the 20 round magazine is restricted, including Aurora IL, California, Chicago, Cleveland OH, Cincinnati, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, and Toledo OH, will receive a factory 5- or 10-round magazine. The 10 rounders are still scarce. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Long Guns: $20 flat fee shipping to the lower 48 states; $50 to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, UPS Ground, insured. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
