E M Reilly 577/450 Martini.
This gun came out of an estate of a gentleman who hunted in South Africa and Rhodesia in the 1960's and 70's. According to the estate manager the gun was purchased while gent was on a hunt to Rhodesia.
This is a commercially built 577/450 Martini Henry by E M REILLY & CO, OXFORD ST, LONDON. According to research, the manner in which the gun was marked shows it to have been built between 1861 to 1869. Bore is in good condition for a black powder gun that's 150 years old. Guns patina is even and the engraving on the guns frame is in good condition. The front sight has been broken off right below the bead. The sling swivel that's mid length on the barrel is missing. The stock shows some signs of shrinkage as the steel butt plate is slightly larger than the stock but the stock is not cracked.
Due to age gun it is sold "as is."
