Here is an excellent reincarnation of the fabled Winchester 1892 Lever Action rifle, the Rossi R92 chambered in .357 Caliber, manufactured in Brazil by Taurus's Rossi holdings and imported by Braztech in Miami. This one is in Stainless Steel, semi-gloss and not terribly different from classic gun metal gray originals; other than that, its only departure from the classic 1892 design is a hammer block safety, mounted unobtrusively on top of the bolt just forward of the hammer. Metal is entirely stainless steel. Forend and buttstock appear to be Brazilian Walnut. Buttplate is blue steel as well. Weight is a pleasantly balanced 6 pounds empty. Barrel is 20 inches long, and capacity is 10 +1 rounds of .357 Magnum or .38 Special. Weight empty is only 6 pounds, and overall length is a compact 37 inches. Buyer will receive the Rifle in the photo or one of its identical mates. Consumers are now enjoying a turf battle between Taurus / Braztech and the previous importer, Legacy Sports in Nevada, so pricing is very reasonable on these fine rifles for the time being.
