HG3791 From one of the descendants of one of our little county’s best families comes this genuine Smith & Wesson Ladysmith revolver, chambered, as the barrel marking indicates, in .22 S&W caliber, or .22 Long. This little heirloom most likely was bought new in Memphis before World War One, and it has been in the same family as the original purchaser until we got it. Several firearms from Springfield Massachusetts bear the names Lady Smith; this one, however, is one of the originals. From its 11,000 range serial number, it was manufactured in 1909, the Year of Boss E.H. Crump’s election as Mayor of Memphis. Surface detractions are extensive on this little .22, principally nickel peeling on its cylinder surfaces. The plating shows toning and weakness throughout, with extensive rough places in the nickel that is not readily conspicuous. We rate it as good, but photos ought to suffice for our shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Cylinder chambers only exhibit light pitting at the point where a .22 Short cartridge case stopped, and the bore shows no more than 20 percent superficial internal pitting. Note that the grips are excellent and original. Timing and mechanicall is excellent. We’re offering this original West Tennessee Ladysmith for only $ 689.00. Definitely C&R Eligible.
