Here is one of the best pistols that Excam Inc. ever marketed, the GT380 chambered in .380 ACP caliber. It is a close cousin to the Beretta 70S Jaguar marketed in the 1970s and 1980s. This specimen comes to us from a New England collection. From its AI Italian Date Code, it was manufactured in 1982. Manufacturer was Fratelli Tanfoglio S.N.C. of Gardone Val Trompa, Italy. Importer was Excam Corp of Hialeah, FL, inside competitor to F.I.E. Corp. Type is hammer fired single action only blowback action semi-automatic medium frame pistol. Construction is entirely steel, with factory black polymer grip panels and finger rest magazine floorplate. Barrel is 3 1/2 inch with six groove right hand 1:16 rifling, with serrated open top slide and full length steel guide rod. Sight is barrel integral solid rib with blade front with dovetailed black blade rear that is drift adjustable only for windage. Chambering is .380 ACP Caliber, and the steel magazine holds 7 rounds, 7 + 1 fully loaded capacity. Note the European style butt mounted magazine release; note also that Tanfoglios do Not lock the slide open on an empty magazine. Trigger is .260 serrated face, with matching Commander type serrated hammer. Trigger pull is stiff but crisp 10 pound vicinity. The GT380 has three safeties: a slide mounted hammer block, frame mounted main safety, and a magazine safety. Note the European style magazine release on the grip frame butt. Weight empty is 25 ounces, with center of gravity at the grip frame front strap. Finish is original bright blue. Surface detractions on this specimen are moderate, principally finish blemishes on the left side of the slide and on the trigger guard. We rate it as Very Good, 75 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We do not believe this pistol has been fired more than 200 times. We have test fired it will ball ammunition, and no hitches.
