EPIC FAIL: Anti-Gunners Call for Gun Control During Ohio State Knife Attack

2nd Amendment – R2KBA Authors Current Events Jordan Michaels This Week

Facts are inconvenient things. They get in the way of agendas, especially when those agendas don’t have much basis in reality.

Take the anti-gun lobby, for example.

When Abdul Razak Ali Artan injured 11 people with his car and a butcher knife at Ohio State University earlier this week, anti-gunners didn’t wait for these facts to surface before getting on their soapbox.

Instead, they took to Twitter to decry the “senseless shooting” at Ohio State and advocate for “common sense gun control.”

Bre Payton over at The Federalist collected this hilarious and horrifying series of Tweets from activists, journalists, and celebrities sticking their collective feet squarely in their collective mouths.

Here’s a great example from B-list celebrity Reggie Watkins, who REALLY CARES ABOUT THIS ISSUE. YOU CAN TELL BECAUSE HE WRITES IN ALL-CAPS.

reggie-watkins

Another, from “writer, person, and columnist @MTV” Anne T. Donahue, calls out Donald Trump for his unwillingness to denounce “gun violence” after a knife attack.

anne-donahue

She followed up one minute later with a jab at the NRA, tweeting “@NRA you guys happy yet?

It gets better. United States Representative Sheila Jackson Lee posted a poorly edited tweet lamenting the “senseless shooting” at Ohio State: “Today is yet another was a [sic] sad day in our country because of a senseless shooting at an [sic] Ohio State University.”

That tweet has since been deleted.

Payton also found ridiculous comments from the usual suspects. Shannon Watts, founder of the anti-gun group Moms Demand Action, gave us this gem:

shannon-watts

Last time I checked, Uncle Sam wasn’t handing out firearms to felons, mental defectives, domestic abusers, terrorists, etc.  On the contrary, there are laws on the books banning the aforementioned individuals from possessing firearms!  Watts simply doesn’t get it.  More laws aren’t going to stop deranged killers from attacking innocent college students.  But you know what will?

University police arrived on the scene shortly after the incident began, and Officer Alan Horujko shot and killed Artan to end his stabbing spree.

If any Ohio State students or faculty had been armed, perhaps Artan would have been taken down sooner. But, in the end, a good guy with a gun stopped the attack before anyone died.

That fact was conveniently ignored by the anti-gun media. Josephine Yurcaba is a news editor at Romper, and she was sure a good guy with a gun was not responsible for stopping Artan:

josephine-yurcaba

Right.

Here’s a real fact the anti-gun media seems entirely incapable of grasping: the truth is more important than political agenda. Tragedies are not meant to be politically exploited, especially when all the facts are not known.

Hasty, uninformed tweets don’t help anyone. They just reveal that the real goal of the anti-gun lobby isn’t to propose “common sense,” fact-based policies. Their real goal, as Reggie Watkins said, is to GET RID OF GUNS!!!!!!

In our nation, the founders wrote a contract between the people and their public servants, the constitution. We do not allow them to have any authority until they swear to obey the contract.
Guns are not the cause of horrible acts. Neither are knives or cars or other things used as weapons to cause damage.
The cause is the minds of men. As our family oriented society is changing to something other than a bible based society of liberty and law, the minds of men loose their morality and discipline. Kids grow up without good parents, without expressions of love, without biblical morality teaching.
Playing fantasy world games killing people constantly in the game.
If crazy people want to kill and maim, they will find a weapon, whether a bomb, a gun, a car, knives, swords or even poison.
So those who are sane and upstanding need guns to protect their families more and more as the craziness increases. That is the fact.
And, some are crying that Trump vilated the constitution on a phone call which caused no deprivation of rights of any law abiding man on the land. They want him impeached and arrested.
Wait a minute, How about arresting and trying those who swear and oath to uphold the constitution, and then perjure their oath by passing laws infringing on free speech and infringing on the lawful man’s right to keep and bear arms.
Lets go the grand juries with that! Blatant evidence of perjuring their oath, causing damage to the people of America!!!
Lets bring the congress criminals to justice! Study the Grand Juries. They are the ultimate law power, unpaid sovereigns being the check and balance on the public servants.

The only senseless Shooting that I know about in Ohio was the one that was brought on by the National Guard when they shot and Killed Un-Armed Students that were protesting against the Vietnam War, but that was okay because it was carried out by Government Troops. The Kent State shootings (also known as the May 4 massacre or the Kent State massacre) were the shootings on May 4, 1970, of unarmed college students by members of the Ohio National Guard at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, during a mass protest against the bombing of Cambodia by United States military forces. Twenty-eight guardsmen fired approximately 67 rounds over a period of 13 seconds, killing four students and wounding nine others

About the only new regulation I could support right now would be to require passing a rigorous certification exam to earn permission to post anything on any social media.

  • Rick Garet December 4, 2016, 3:31 am

If all those who think guns are so bad and want to live where they are illegal . MOVE where they are illegal ! Many places to choose from. England, Russia, Canada, and the list is quite expansive. . . All they need to do is Go There and Be happy and Safe ? ? ?

  • CharlieKing1 December 3, 2016, 4:21 pm

GET RID OF REGGIE WATKINS!!! hashtag whatever…

  • Larry December 2, 2016, 6:38 pm

Thank God for one brave man with a gun! All the little OSU snowflakes must have been running around in circles flapping their hands as that scrawny pencil neck geek 18 year old turd of Islam was stabbing & slashing people.

  • John ODonnell December 2, 2016, 3:12 pm

Americas Spoiled Children led by the King of Arrogance dont know which way to turn. Eight years of stupidity and lies are about to end. They despise cops and guns but what ended the terror in Columbus ? A cop with a gun. It seems that still only the left and the “sensative” have an opinion. Well they can all retreat to their safe crying rooms and tweet to their hearts content because on January 20, 2017 it all ends.

  • Rocky T. December 2, 2016, 2:36 pm

Seems they left out the clincher in that deal… Hillary’s running mate, Vice-Presidential candidate Tim Kane was also amongst those tweeting about the ills of Guns, and needing common sense Gun Control.

BUT… The problem all boils down to irresponsible journalists locally, NOT verifying fact before throwing report of this incidence out there in the Propaganda Machine they like to refer to as news. The days of news being reported have long since passed, the media is eternally pushing their liberal agenda, and occasionally it sneaks up and bites them squarely in the @$$! So while we would like to point fingers at all these other yo-yos and blame them for jumping the gun and blame them for being the fruitcakes they are, they really aren’t to blame, they were only stupid this time around, because they are liberal lemmings and they followed the lead liberal lemmings, the media, over the edge of the cliff.

  • William Tiewater December 2, 2016, 2:08 pm

I have lived for 76 years and every day I become more amazed by the arrogance of the left side politicians and citizens with their Ideas. I have watched the growth and strengthening of their political beliefs over the years, They know the historical foundations of our nation, yet they ignore the truth of the founding fathers dream and the instruments that they left to help us retain the principals of our nation. The process of election of federal leaders has become corrupted by the different influence of outside money that see that by providing money they can sway the the elections and purchase influence politically to get the results they need to obtain their political decisions. The founding fathers foresaw that This practice would undermine a government by the people. The growth of this movement to bring about the loss of the political responsibility to the people. is becoming a reality.
The proposed idea that the there should be term limits and tighter laws regarding monetary influence purchased by corporation to this or that politician for favorably support in congress. The formation of different organization of groups that are simply to benefit those founders or a political agenda should be examined by a Citizen over site committee to determine the basis of their agenda.
The Supreme court has only the function of interpretation application of our Constitution in regard to the individual. not institute new laws.
40 years ago I would have been a supporter of doing away with the Electoral College , but becoming older and rereading the laws of our Nation, I must offer this support of the Electoral College, Our country is based on the state rights so if you have a state that has a population of 60 million people verses a state of population of 5 million the Electoral College
is a way of seeking the will of the state citizenry this allows for each state which is represented by a number of the members of the Electoral College that is in relation to the population of the state. In past Election a person may have more numbers of the popular vote for them but still lose because the President is selected by the Electoral College.not the popular vote.+

What was all that nonsense? The subject was gun control.

      • Pseudo December 2, 2016, 10:14 pm

Just what nonsense? Or did you not understand his comments? He is correct in his comments, or else you have not heard abort Soros, Bloomberg or others with money contributions for anti-gun ploys.

Social media is becoming the bain of our society, and using it and doing away with the electoral college would not only be fool hardy, but dangerous. For one social media has already been used to incite riots with false information, and it was just recently used to erroneously report the Ohio knifing as a gun shooting vendetta.

Social media and those unable to use logic or comprehend common sense is the bigger issue. It is like everything else. Social media if used properly could be a good tool, but alas when combined with laziness or ignorance it is a dangerous tool used by apparently too many fools.

Believe me, with all the hoopla over gun control I just finished talking to a doctor of physical therapy who actually bekived that the public is able to purchase fully automatic weapons, ergo ever time they heard the term AR15. They interpreted to mean a shooting with a fully automatic weapon. So somewhere with all of the media and social media which is being used, something is amiss.

These misinformed kneejerk buffons are always ready to go with the their ready-to-paste anti-gun blather.

    Only God can help them.

The rest of us can’t, … not without breaking a slew of criminal codes. 🙂

  • Ed December 2, 2016, 12:34 pm

I’ve actually heard and seen the snowflakes and others saying it wasn’t fair. The bad guy had a car and a knife and the cop had a gun. Yep–it’s not a fair fight alright. The cop brought a gun to a knife fight. Golly…..I wonder how the students who got mowed down, cut and wound up in the hospital after this lunatic terrorist feel about how fair the fight should have been, Morons.

  • Leighton Cavendish December 2, 2016, 12:14 pm

Not so different from the current rule for misdemeanor domestic violence….take away all guns from the person…even when a gun was not used during the crime/incident.
They leave the knives…swords…chainsaws…bats…hammers…etc etc etc .
    Yeah…makes a LOT of sense…NOT!

San FranSanctuary would have converted to a sanctuary city for the liberally deranged. All across the country from the shore to shore libtards would be rotting in the sun at the end of a noose hanging from trees like Christmas decorations. Elite libtard scholars would be jumping from the very top of their ivory towers to their deaths

  • Brian December 2, 2016, 4:33 am

It is time to take knives, cars, and electronic gadgets away from every leftwing lunatic and sooner rather than later to have peace on our streets. What do they need a knife for anyways? The deli guy can cut anything they need cut or allow them one plug in old fashion electric knives. They definitely should not be driving anything that weighs more than they themselves do plus they will be helping our environment from their expensive gas guzzlers.
The fact that an Ohio State University professor was teaching this young, lost, idiotic islamic Somali young man hate and micro-aggressions which I’m sure that lawyers will be requesting a copy of those syllabus.

Don’t know nor care who Reginald Watkins is. But he sure is showing his ignorance along with these other twitter morons. But that’s not unusual. Jumping the proverbial gun. Glad I’m not on twitter…..or FB…or any of that other mind numbing social networking crap. I’m finding today that there is very little use in being “social”. Because most people are just idiots….like these goobers. Best thing Donald Trump can do is get rid of these stupid laws that protect the idiots from themselves…..and let natural selection take over…..in 5-10 years, there will be a lot less morons in our country. Americanism….NOT Globalism!!

seemed like a genius comment against twitter twats etc until it occurred to me this is likely considered a social network ……dooh!

      GIT RID OF SOCIAL NETWORKS

      • DRAINO December 3, 2016, 7:48 am

I see where one could call it that….and it may be by definition. I personally think there is a huge difference between a site that allows comment/discussion about articles and subjects vs. a site where you post your personal actions right down to taking a crap and every thought (no matter how small) that comes into your head. Sure, I’m probably splitting hairs. I don’t know about you….but I’m not here to be social. Lol!

  • Christian December 1, 2016, 4:04 am

Normally I can write very long postings but this one just kept me purely speechless after I finished reading it! When I read the tweet of Reginald Watkins I had two thoughts though:

GET RID OF CARS!!! GET RID OF KNIFES!!!

That is the logic that so many people here have discussed so often. Someone uses something as a tool for bad things, well then get rid of it until we have nothing to live left. Of course, they only use this kind of agenda on guns but never on any other things because otherwise they would have to acknowledge how stupid and crazy their logic really is.

The tweet of Shannon Watts was funny to read as well. Other nations do not protect their students at all and they are targets all over the place. Erfurt 2002, Winnenden 2009… you name it. This is what she misses of course. I say, God help us with people like that who don’t want to accept the truth and open their mouth before they even know what really happened. I am sure that this was not what the freedom of speech was meant for.

But honestly the tweet of Josephine Yurcaba is my absolute favorite! Can someone please tell her to see a psychologist immediately? I cannot believe that she actually believes what she wrote, I rather believe that she has just been payed very good to write such a crap. So, she is a news editor. Well, the name of her job just says it. To edit something is to change something on it. So, to edit news is to change the news and take out facts and put own propaganda into it. You know how we call that in the place where I live? Lying press! And here we have a prime example for that.

I agree with the author, this time we really have an EPIC fail! I think this article should be spread immensely, to show as many people as possible how stupid the anti-gunners really are.

    • Chris December 2, 2016, 8:45 am

“Normally I can write very long postings but this one” . . . So this was a short reply for you? 🙂

      • Joe McHugh December 2, 2016, 11:01 am

Chris, I have been following Christian’s contributions for some time now and he takes the time to explain his astute opinions about the happenings in the United States. He is a German with a very good command of the English language. If I had to characterize Christian’s political stance in American terms, I would describe him as being a solid conservative.

I value his opinions because he is the perfect casual observer of American politics. He has no vested interest in the great struggle between the Democrats and the Republicans in America. I’m not sure about his feelings about German politics but I’m sure that he would have no difficulty in fitting into our society, if he cared to do so.

I always read the posts of Christian, even when the topic is mundane. I get an eerie feeling while reading Christian’s thoughts. Our mutual political mentalities are so similar, it’s preternatural. On the other hand he could very well be a knuckle dragging troglodyte. We are all different in one way or another, and that makes political harmony difficult in free societies.

        • Christian December 2, 2016, 7:43 pm

Hello Joe, nice to see you again!

At first, thank you very much for the kind words about me. Let me assure you that if I wouldn’t have my English checked by MS Word, I guess there would be a lot more spelling mistakes in my comments and I still have trouble with the English comma usage, sometimes even with the German one.

Anyway, I have seen the presidential debates, I was on both of the presidential candidates website and the republicans made more sense with the things they were asking for. In 2008 I was pro-Obama because I really believed into him but obviously after all the mess he left, I “changed the sides”. I had some business in the center of Berlin when Obama was here a couple of weeks ago and half of the city was closed to the public. Needless to say, a president that the people like because he is good to the people and to the overall situation in the world wouldn’t need to be that afraid of the public. The news on Gunsamerica are the only news about America that I watch and that give me a good and often politically incorrect view on many American issues, which I like very much.

My feelings about the German politics? Just vote AFD as often as you can and that is all I can advise. I don’t watch the German news at all. My TV is only for DVDs and Blu-Rays and it won’t even activate itself, if I don’t shut the DVD player on. The important things I hear or see anyway when I visit my parents, that also live in Berlin just as I do, so there is no need to stress myself by watching German media, especially German politics because it just makes me angry right on the spot. I do fight a peaceful but desperate fight though, I have to sue the government TV because they force you since 2013 to pay your TV license just because you live and have an apartment/own house. And in 2015 I was part in more than 30 Pegida Berlin demonstrations. So, I was politically active and during that time I informed myself a lot. But when Pegida Berlin (Bärgida is the name) split up from the main Pegida movement, I quit going there. They still march from what I know but marching like this is useless, especially in such a leftist city like Berlin. I even held 19 speeches at the Bärgida demonstrations, my greatest, which was my second speech, in front of 400 people right in front of the Brandenburg Gate. That was amazing for me and I never would say sorry to anyone for having done this. But that is all I did and think about German politics. Maybe one day someone will give me the chance to get out of here, I don’t care where to but just getting out of here, better out of Europe if that matters. USA, Asia, anywhere you can have a better life than the mess we have here. Just one time I really want to visit the USA. I want to go to the Columbine High School Memorial in Littleton, Colorado, reading every single engraving, maybe lay some flowers and then go to the Golden Cemetery, not far away from the Memorial, and pay Cassie Bernall my highest respects. This is something I really want to do one time in my life.

Joe, in the end I just want to tell you that there are a lot good people here that are happy as I am that the republicans won in the USA. German media tried everything to talk Trump down while they saw Hillary as God, that is what I have read in the internet, but more and more people learn that they cannot take this propaganda serious anymore. It is just too dumb, now as the system will soon come to its end because of all the crisis we are facing right now.

    • Willard December 2, 2016, 11:04 am

Christian, while I normally enjoy reading your little ‘novellas’, I’m afraid I have to take offense at one thing that you said.

“To edit something is to change something on it. So, to edit news is to change the news and take out facts and put own propaganda into it.”

Yes, editors change, rearrange, paraphrase, and expand. I have a front-row seat to the editing process, as my wife is the Executive Editor of a niche-market magazine and I am occasionally called upon to by proof-reading. The reason editors do that is because while many of the magazine’s writers have PhD’s (some have multiple Master’s degrees and PhD’s), they quite literally couldn’t write their way out of a wet paper bag. These people may be geniuses, but they can’t string two sentences together in any kind of coherent order – and heaven forbid they know what punctuation is for!

GOOD editors change things to make it more readable, and more importantly, to make it more understandable. As for the ” …change the news and take out facts and put own propaganda into it.” part, that’s not an editor, that’s a propagandist. A whole different animal. These people may ‘call’ themselves editors, but if you asked a real editor, they’ll loudly deny any connection with these folks.

“To edit something is to change something on(change to IN) it. So, to edit news is to change the news and take out facts and put (insert YOUR) own propaganda into it.”

The above is an example of what a REAL editor does – the items in parenthesis are my edits to your comment. I didn’t change your meaning one bit, nor did I introduce any new ideas.

Side-note: social media (well, most any media!) is getting harder and harder for my wife and I to bear. Somebody will post a long diatribe about one thing or another and when we read it their ideas are entirely lost on us. We start reading and after catching three or four mistakes – often, outright misuses of words – we don’t go any further. And please, do NOT get me started on ‘there vs. their vs. they’re’!! 😀

Okay, I’ll get off my soapbox now. You go out and have yourself a great day, Happy Belated Thanksgiving, and Merry (early) Christmas!

      • Christian December 2, 2016, 7:44 pm

        Hello Willard,

at first, maybe I was a little too offensive when I wrote my comment and I dearly want to excuse myself to you and your wife. Maybe in the USA the things are still a little different than what they are in my country, where the press is from top to bottom filled with propaganda. Maybe I should have thought about my posting a little before sending it but I have to be honest that I was so upset with those tweets from these anti-gunners, that these were the only words I was able to find at the moment. I forgot that when there is evil there must be also good and from your posting I see that you and your wife, as surely as thousands of other editors, are good people and not these propagandists that we have in Germany all over the place.

Willard, thanks for making me laugh when you actually edited my posting. You really got me in this way. 😉 Here we have a good example that my English might be well but it is still far away from perfect. And yes, I can imagine what it means to transcribe texts from certain people. I remember some certain E-Mails or files in some of the jobs I worked in and it was crazy to read them. It sometimes makes you wonder if these people ever visited an elementary school.

Willard, I also wish you and your wife a belated thanksgiving and of course a very nice Christmas! Thank you again for showing me that there are still good editors out there. Next time I will take care of my words, before publishing my comments about a certain job group if I ever have to make such a comment again, I promise!

Yes, we should really, really, get rid of all the guns (give them all to me). I don’t want anyone walking around with a gun in their hands (they should all be in my house). All guns are too loud (I have ear muffs). The world is dangerous and scary (it is, with me in it). I want my Mommy (I’d like to meet your Mommy too). Waaaa. (Hahahaha). (crazy/off).
