Anti-Gunners Use Fake Gun Store to Shock Gun Buyers

States United to Prevent Gun Violence, a gun-control organization, set up a fake gun store in New York City to shock prospective gun purchasers by attempting to sell them firearms that had been involved in crimes and tragic accidents.

The group filmed the whole stunt in an effort to remind the public that “Every gun has a history.”

During the video, one female buyer is told by the clerk, “[This] is the easiest gun we have to use. It’s our most popular one… It’s also a gun that 5-year-old found in his parents bedroom, went down and shot his 9-month-old baby brother with it.”

When another customer enters the store, the clerk displays a 9mm pistol. After saying it is “a very handy gun” and it’s “easy to use,” the salesman says, “It’s a great gun to carry in your purse, like that gal from the Walmart, her two-year-old son reaches into her pocketbook, pulls it out, shoots her.”

Yeah, so, you get the idea. Another lame attempt to demonize firearms, to convince people that an inanimate tool is evil personified.

What’s shocking is that it actually worked on a few people. It appears they let their emotions cloud their reason and judgment. Sure, every gun has a history. But that history is defined by people, not by the gun. The gun doesn’t have free will. The gun isn’t a living organism. So, in other words, the same gun that was used in a mass shooting could save the lives of a single mother and her two children. The same gun that a child picked up and accidentally fired could be used by a sexual assault victim to kill a serial rapist.

To state the obvious, guns don’t kill people. People kill people.

There’s also the fact that guns are used more often to prevent crime than they are to perpetrate it. As a 2013 Centers for Disease Control study found, “Almost all national survey estimates indicate that defensive gun uses by victims are at least as common as offensive uses by criminals, with estimates of annual uses ranging from about 500,000 to more than 3 million per year, in the context of about 300,000 violent crimes involving firearms in 2008.”

To put that another way, guns are more often used by good guys than they are by bad guys — which would mean that in any used gun store one would have an easier time finding a gun with a positive history than a negative one. But again, humans are the ones who write history. Not the firearm.

    This was so fucking stupid I could only watch out 20 seconds of it. It was so fake, only a moron would think it to be real. The NYCPD should have been all over them for even having the weapons. Is this how low the anti’s will go to fool people. As well who in their right mind would even go in there knowing the laws in NYC/Russia. Go away and stay away.

    Total “BS” I have never seen anything on a price ticket other than is Manufactures Name or Acronyms of such, the caliber and the sale price of the handgun, rifle or shotgun. People that don’t know the difference between a clip or a magazine shouldn’t be buying, selling or talking about them. Referencing a clip fed firearm would go back to the M1 military weapon. No one with the intention of selling a firearm would offer such information or have information of such about the firearm for sale. It would be in the evidence locker of the proper authority and most likely have the officers personal mark on it; should it go to court for the officers identification. Get real New York “FAKE NEWS”. These weapons would not be up for sale.

    What if somebody actually chose a gun that the wanted to buy ? Convientlly those customers were edited out . And what about that UZI ? I didn’t know you could sell or possess a NFA firearm in New York . Isn’t it a felony to offer a sub gun for sale in New Your if you are not a class 3 FFL holder ? And no way in hell would New York approve that in the city . There is no federal law prohibiting full auto . Only some states prohibit it . New York, Illinois, Calrfornia, among others . Most states do allow it . Hopefully Trump will repeal that asinine Hughes Amendment that Ronald Reagan signed into law . WTF Was he thinking ?

    I really hope to read a follow up about these people being arrested for illegal activity and the sale of guns that are not legal in the state of NY. Who’s holding the FFL for this store? Nobody is my bet, needs to be brought to the authorities by somebody there in NY. Busted!

    It has to be fake because guns used by criminals are locked with court case-files and evidence where they reside forever in case of an appeal or until a criminal steals it from their evidence warehouse ( or it gets destroyed by fire, or something else )…

    This video was shown to be a hoax. The ‘gun shop’ staff, as well as the customers, were paid actors or volunteers of an anti-gun organization. This is the same kind of BS that Thomas Edison used in his traveling circus used in killing animals, including one elephant, in his campaign to stop the spread of alternating current, as he was heavily invested in direct current technology. It is ironic that many power companies in the US now carry the name of Edison in their name. After the antis are defeated, will gun makers start adopting the name Bloomberg? God, I hope not.

    Anyone else notice there are no ways to leave comments on ceasefireusa.org or gunswithhistory.com? Do they know they are fighting a losing battle? I am glad the pro-gun, pro-Constitution sites allow comments. There are a lot of cliches, but I like the one “should I not get a fire extinguisher and only trust the fire department to help protect my family and neighbors from fire?” To me a gun is the same sort of protection, even beyond that to the point of protecting one’s self from a tyrannical government (the same ones who would most want to disarm a community of people). Part of the responsibility of gun ownership is keeping them out of reach of family/friends that may be too young to understand them or safely use them. I do not recall the site but enjoyed the one where someone was streaming video of his rifles to let people keep an eye on them and make sure they did not hurt anyone.

    I’m with some of the other commenters. Who owned all these guns? How on earth did they get a phony gun store with real guns approved? It would have made for good TV if a gang banger would have cleaned them out while filming. This whole thing stinks of Bloomberg and his minions. If someone went to the city to request permission to erect a phony gun store to tell all the stories of folks who took out bad guys with their guns. NYC would probably arrest you as a terrorist. And by the way, you will NEVER convince me the Sandy Hook incident went down as our government said it did!
    And as unfortunate and sad as some of those other incidents were. They were a result of careless gun security.

    Love how they do this but fail to say what isis is doing over seas and fail to add that the united states is number like 108 of the safest countries and fail to add that Texas which has a gun population of 6 guns for every citizen is one of the safest states. And btw texas has the highest gun owner ship and have I think its .4 out of 100,000 deaths due to gun ownership. People dont relize that when guns are gone homicides get more deadly and more gruesome with people stabbing and chopping people up, drowning people, burning people alive, and even beat in people to death. I guarantee if you take the guns people will be more gruesome like over seas. We need to stand up against these idiotic statements and the truth needs to be shown. If you take the guns which keep others thinking and keep others out of this country and even keeps our government in check, then I guarantee that we the people will have more on our hands. This is why our fore fathers hated us to keep our guns so we dont go threw what they did. I know one thing, my guns wont ever be taken away without a good fight. That I can guarantee and I know thousands will too and will be right by my side. Bundy ranch was a good example of why we the people need our guns, so we the people can put the feds and the government in check when the need a good ass kicking. Same goes for other country’s thinking of taking out freedom and happiness like isis would love to do. I feel sorry for all the men and women who give there lives everyday and then come home to the constitution and our rights being challenged when thats what there fighting for and will fight for in there own country.

    One point this video made was this gun killed this person, the blame was put on all the guns and not the person, the gun is the one that did it so if you buy a gun this gun is going to do the same thing… like drunk drivers are not responsible for the people they kill is the car they were driving or the type of drink they had.
    very one sided video I wonder how many people stood up to the clerk’s statements.
    Blame Bush for the cause of those crimes as well…
    We have a free right to choose to buy or not to buy, to defend ourselves against a perpetrator who choose to commit a crime against us or others.

    Well, as I finished reading this the wheels started turning and in just a minute I learned that two of my guns had been used in the past for murder or suicide. The Walther PPK was Hitler’s choice when he had a brief moment of reality and pulled the trigger.And the Charter Arms 38 Special was the weapon of choice used to kill John Lennon. Those are just the first two I Googled . At the same time I was reminded that James Bond also used a Walther PPK to take down all those bad guys in the movies and the Charter Arms 38 Special I own stays by the bed to keep me safe at home. Yes they both are inanimate objects, it;s all about the user’s intent when unholstered

    This reminds me of those “news” stories (slow news day), where reporters canvas for signatures in a street survey. They ask people to sign a petition for some innocuous but worthy cause, which many people agree to do. They are then told that in the fine print they have agreed to sell their first born, or gift their house, or some other appalling unintented consequence, all in an effort to encourage people to read the fine print before they sign ANYTHING.
    In other words, emotional manipulation of regular people, into performing an act they would never otherwise consider. But in this case, it is extremely emotive dissuasion from their Constitutional right to keep and bear arms. Not from a statistical or factual basis, but using worst case examples to show the down side to free will and the random nature of reality. And NONE of these guns were the actual guns used in any of the shootings cited, I guarantee this. They were punked. Don’t be a punk.
