In this short-action version of the AR, Armalite shortened the receiver and has changed the forestock to get a shorter bolt action. The rifle has a 24-inch barrel and uses AR 10B magazines.

I can hardly wait for them to chamber it in .338L or in 338Fed!!!

ArmaLite has been building quality precision bolt-action rifles for more than a decade now. The company’s AR-30 has been immensely popular, and the changes developed for the AR-30A1 were huge. These next-generation rifles included more ergonomic stocks and significant attention to detail. I’ve spent plenty of time at the range with the AR-30, and I also spent some time testing the AR-30A1. Its buttstock provides for easy length-of-pull and cheek height adjustments, and the continuous top rail provides ample space for scopes and even night-vision gear. The rifle also features a very effective, well-known muzzle brake. Thanks.

Ar stands for armalite not assault rifle if that’s what u were thinking

I may be wrong but I believe AR stands for Armalite. They were the original manufacturer of the AR15 or M16.

    So – I’m a bit confused…

Why do they call this rifle an ‘AR’ ?????

    I’m kinda curious…

Because it’s made my ArmaLite, AR is for “Arma”, not “assault rifle”,

Same reason my AR-50 (definitely not an “AR” platform as you’re thinking), or my AR-7. Armalite Rifle.
