Army Says Armed Civilians Protecting Recruiting Centers Are Security Risks

2nd Amendment – R2KBA Authors S.H. Blannelberry This Week

After five servicemen were slain during a terrorist attack in Chattanooga, many citizens have taken it upon themselves to arm up and stand guard outside recruiting centers around the country, but the Army has deemed these individuals a security a risk.

The Army Command Operations Center-Security Division released a letter addressing the issue, bluntly saying that while these armed citizens may have their hearts in the right place, having unauthorized guns on site is not something they want.

“I’m sure the citizens mean well, but we cannot assume this in every case and we do not want to advocate this behavior,” the letter stated. “If questioned by these alleged concerned citizens, be polite, be professional and terminate the conversation immediately and report to the incident to local law enforcement.”

While shooing away armed citizens looking to protect potential terrorist targets may ruffle a few feathers, reporting them to local law enforcement is sure to cause a stir.

In their letter, the Army advises that armed citizens should lay down their weapons and observe and report instead of standing guard.

“Local communities can support our security by reporting suspicious activity, particularly around recruiting centers,” said Bland. “If you see something, say something.”

The U.S. Marine Corps too issued a statement expressing a similar sentiment.

“While we greatly appreciate the support of the public during this tragedy, we ask that citizens do not stand guard at our recruiting offices,” the statement read. “Our continued public trust lies among our trained first responders for the safety of the communities where we live and work.”

The various branches of the military may not want these armed citizens outside their buildings, but until they arm up their own Guardsmen, it’s unlikely they’ll just abandon their “post.”

I have to reluctantly side with the Army suits on this one. Who knows what the qualifications, experience and mental status of the “volunteers” are?

Leadership or rather that lack thereof is manifest in the decision making process… Consider this..
All humans have a basic inalienable right to self defense.. Citizen, Military, Civilian Peace Officers alike..
Our faux leadership Republican and Democrat alike are more concerned that the message that that basic human right is valid than they are about the lives of not just Recruiters but any person other than themselves.. all while they surround themselves with armed protection paid for by whom.. Those very people they work so diligently to leave disarmed..

All while the Leadership of the two parties deliberately allow Millions of people to be brought into the US at this time every year.. 100,000 Muslims and many times more from Poor unskilled and uneducated South American Countries. There numbers are so great they have no time nor desire to intigrate into the society to learn our value and love of liberty and free enterprise..

No accident.. the idea is if you do not like the Values and Culture of the Native People of a Nation you flood them with others who then fall into conflict with the Native Population in this case the American Culture which is as real as any other.

This is an effort to conqueror and overcome the American people whose usefulness to the Novus Ordus Seclorum has come to an end..

Either the People will Unite setting aside the false two party Paradigm or they will be conquered but an International cabal of Financiers and Corporate Interests..

I agree! but most Americans are sheep! asleep at the wheel! I mean really! they believe everything Obama says!

  • Bigmag47 July 27, 2015, 5:11 pm

All I can say is “listen to your heart” NOT the Cameleon in Chief. This is what gets me. All kinds of people including the “mainstream media” say what`s with Obama? is he stupid or he just doesn`t get it. CRAP! All CRAP! He gets it just fine, and no, he`s not stupid. He is a MUSLIM…period! And has the most powerful position in the world. His job as far as he is concerned is to further advance the Muslim agenda PERIOD! DESTROY AMERICA! Thanks to the media, and general cowardice of it`s leaders in the House and Senate he is doing a bang up job. They all need to be PHYSICALLY removed from office along with the Obamonkey in charge, and tried for treason!!!

*sigh* you are an idiot. if anything, obama is an atheist, not a muslim. i would much rather have an atheist president than a muslim or christian one. is obama unwilling to actually speak of the problems associated with islam? yes, he is. but only a retard would think he is a muslim.

Kinda like the gate guards to get on base when I was stationed in Berlin when the Wall was up. Sure they had 45’s on their hips, but the magazines were locked in an ammo can and only the watch commander had the key. In case of some bozo walking in like at the La Belle disco they blew up, the guards had to call the commander and explain the situation. He would then decide if he needed to go look for himself. If he did need to investigate he would go unlock the can and give the guards their 1 magazine with 7 rounds. Of course by that time the bad guys had already done what they went there to do.
When you need the police they are only a phone call plus response time away. Didn’t that already happen. I guess they never learn anything at the Five Sided Funny Farm.

What I always thought was stupid, was having one cop in a cruiser. How can you watch action on the side, while keeping your eyes on the road? Now, they are expected to pay more attention to what is going on at every recruiter station….
I guess they’ll be spending less time at Dunkin Doughnuts, 77-11’s and AM/PM’s.

If you knew what you were talking about maybe you would make some sense! I’m a 3 tours Vietnam Vet, and a retired law enforcement officer with 47yrs. of service. I doubt that you could do the job! You can always tell the smart a**e’s who have to make the comment about the donut shop’s. As in any profession, you have good and bad. The police officer’s today are under siege by the media and left wing kook’s who wants to arrest them for doing their jobs. You are as big of a pinhead as the Army brass that wants to condemn these good citizens. They are falling in line with their so called Commander in Chief. I thank god that these private citizen’s have stepped forward to give their time to protect our servicemen and women. I’m glad I’m not in the military right now…These 4 star bozos kissing the great Obama butt..

  • Larry July 27, 2015, 12:49 pm

First of all, the “unauthorized” guns are not “on site”. They are out in front of the facilities. Secondly, we should note that this is the beige bozo’s army saying this.

  • Chris July 27, 2015, 12:10 pm

Well, there was already reportedly an accidental discharge but thankfully no one was hurt. Are these militia members? Or just armed civilians?

  • Gary Heaton July 27, 2015, 12:06 pm

Ask yourself this: Who is the commander and chief that tells the top ranking officers what to order their men to do and to say?
Ask who we know that is not on the side of the USA, yet has the most power to leave these hero’s in harms way?
Then ask yourself, am I going to listen to the branches of the military who are being ordered by their commander and cheif to tell me not to protect these men if I can?
I know my answer to these questions, and I am sure you do as well!

  • Steve L July 27, 2015, 8:34 am

Chuck, I agree with your comment, but I was thinking it was more like “Pearl Harbor”! After that and 9/11 our government still doesn’t get it, and frankly I don’t get their thinking on this either!

  • Kyle July 27, 2015, 8:30 am

It’s just politics really. The branches of the military are not about to condone citizens guarding recruiting offices while armed. Just like all the safety and SHARPS and suicide prevention classes we have to take because the folks who run the show have to cover their a**. If they said “thank you for your protection”, and encouraged more citizens to do it and then something bad happened somebody high up would probably lose their job. This really shouldn’t be a surprise coming from the same military who makes all installations gun free zones.

I don’t think open carry outside the recruitment center is a bad idea at all and it shows potential jihadists how bad America could f*** them up, but I personally would go for the out-of-sight out-of-mind approach. I’d be nearby in a car with the a/c on. Imagine the change in attitude when other jihadists learn that one of their own attempted to shoot up a center that appeared to be unguarded just to have a mag dumped into him by a “regular citizen”.

Probably the best plan. No, the *leadership* of our armed forces, a gaggle of briefcased, DC-dazzled honey princes infected with top-down vaginitis from the administration in particular and culture in general, will not tolerate visible pre-positioned citizen intervention. However….discreet, in the vehicle, little distance, move the car from time to time….strike when the need arises….sounds like a plan.

As a two tour Vietnam Vet, serving with the USMC, this reminds me of our Vietnam policy.
