I have enjoyed a great relationship with Springfield Armory for over 25 years. Over that time, I have watched them introduce many new products, improve quality, take some pretty substantial risks, and grow as a company. It is safe to say that they produce some of the best production 1911 pistols on the market. The Ronin EMP is only the latest in that line.

For many readers, a stock Glock 19, with good sights, meets their needs. I have several stock Glocks that I shoot well. However, one only has to look at the number of shops, that offer modification, to realize that custom Glocks are popular and meet the wants and needs of the shooter. I’ve carried my Wilson Combat G-19, daily, for over five years and have been very pleased.

First, as many GunsAmerica readers may know, I am a self-avowed, unapologetic, fan of the Smith J frame series of revolvers. I have carried a J frame, of one model or another, on a daily basis for more than forty years.

Tactical Solutions recently released a new bolt action, takedown rifle, called the Owyhee! And, after this evaluation, I can say that It is one slick little rifle! 

Last year, Beretta introduced the 21A Bobcat Covert with a threaded barrel. The 21A is a very user-friendly pistol with a number of great features.

Those who have followed my writing over the years will, no doubt, remember that I am a self-avowed Smith J-frame addict. That being said, more than one friend has encouraged me to take a serious look at Ruger’s little LCR. This assignment was just the nudge I needed.

I recently evaluated the Ruger LCR in .38 Special. As a follow-up, I wanted to evaluate the LCR in .22 LR. eing a fan of the Smith & Wesson J-frame, I am fortunate to own a Model 43C which is also chambered in .22 LR. This review also gave me an opportunity to compare the LCR with the Smith.

It’s ugly! It’s heavy! It’s clunky! It’s expensive! It’s unconventional! Yes, it is! But damn if it doesn’t shoot! The Chiappa Rhino revolver is probably the most uniquely designed revolver produced in the last 100 years or more.

Colt went well outside the box on the new Custom Carry by selecting some of the best parts on the market. While the name sounds rather benign, this Custom Carry is one of the most well thought out, and feature rich, 1911s on the market today.
