The authors wife’s wedding ring is cut from a Barnes Precision 308 barrel.

What can I say about Barnes Precision Machine AR’s? Apparently, a lot, since I have written about them here, here, here, here, and here. Oh, and here too. As far as bang for the buck, they are very hard to beat. Most of my personal rifles are BPM, including the one with my ODA number for the serial number. Hell, my wife’s wedding ring is cut from a Barnes 308 barrel. I believe.

Mr. Barnes has been a great supporter of the Special Forces Regiment, and not just stateside. His uppers have done some weird things in some very weird places, though he would never tell you that. I say with certainty, his guns are combat reliable.

BPM builds almost every part in-house and cuts from the finest barrel blanks. Accuracy is the first priority, and I haven’t seen one of his AR’s yet that shoots bigger than ½ MOA. The bolts are nickel boron coated, for a smoothness you have to feel to believe. The handguard is a BPM design, and it is as tough as a coffin nail. Drop in an AR Gold trigger, and you have a rifle that is capable of anything.

High quality nickel boron BCG help make the action one of the smoothest.

Drop in an AR Gold trigger and this BPM rifle is ready to rock!

All this, at an MSRP that is well below market average. The base model gun retails for $750, while the CQB/MOE model ( my recommendation) retails for $1458. If you haven’t snagged an AR yet, I recommend you put a phone call into Apex, NC. With the way things are going, these are going to be selling fast.

I’d really like to know how Clay stacks up a BPM 5.56 against other’s he has reviewed; the SAINT EDGE and the Ranier Arms Ultramatch

PS90 is not a bad urban combat weapon either.

(Drop in an AR Gold trigger) I’ve always been curious as to why higher end AR’s come with standard, not so great, triggers.
Of the three AR’s I have brought in the last 15 years, Colt, Sig, and Bushmaster, the Bushmaster was the only one that I haven’t wanted to change.

For eight years firearms business boomed with fear of democratic gun legislation as crime decreased. Now under Republican rule comes more violence and gun legislation.
