Brad Pitt: ‘I got my grandfather’s shotgun when I was in Kindergarten”

Authors S.H. Blannelberry

Actor Brad Pitt is a gun guy, unlike a large percentage of his Hollywood peers.

In a recent interview with Radio Times, while promoting his new WWII film “Fury,” he once again spoke about his affinity for firearms and the pro-gun culture in which he was raised.

“There’s a rite of passage where I grew up inheriting your ancestors’ weapons,” said the Oklahoma-born, Missouri-raised 50-year-old.

“My brother got my dad’s,” he continued. “I got my grandfather’s shotgun when I was in kindergarten.”

Pitt went on to say that he received the shotgun when he was six, noting that his father “instilled in me a profound and deep respect for the weapon.”

As for how he feels about keeping and bearing arms for self-defense within the home?

“It’s very strange, but I feel better having a gun,” Pitt explained. “I don’t feel the house is completely safe if I don’t have one hidden somewhere. That’s my thinking, right or wrong.”

This is not the first time Pitt has expressed his pro-gun perspective. Hopefully it won’t be the last either. The more pro-gun celebrities that speak up for our Second Amendment rights, the more it servers to jab a stick in the collective eye of the freedom-hating elites the run the film industry.

Pitt’s on our side. He one of us. Suck on that Hollywood!

Well, I saw a movie promo and some talk in text.
Big deal, my daddy gave me some old guns too.
Maybe if Brad gets involved with the NRA like Charlton Heston, I’ll give a dam.

just shut up any supporter for keeping guns is a plus for us. If the way you see it everyone has to be as involved as Charlton Heston the NRA would have probably under a 100 members. Any supporter of guns helps the cause especially a celebrity like Brad Pitt and you. I bet you dumb ass isnt as active as Charlton Heston either

Pitt and Jolee are both very proficient with firearms. Don’t forget that her father is John Voight, an outspoken Hollywood conservative. They do have some other left-leaning ideas, however, they are supporters of the Second Amendment. In Hollywood, you don’t say you support guns outside of the movies unless you do. You WILL be castigated for it.

I think Brad Pitt is from Missouri so i believe him, but Missouri is the “Show-me State”, So Shows us your guns Brad.

I doubt he supports the 2a or has ever been a NRA member. He’s just pandering to a select news outlets. He’s not stupid he knows what he can say to who and nobody will hear about it. He’s just a Hollywood liberal. He sure does like to make money off of us gun lovers. Ask Brad about gun registration, concealed carry, Modern sporting rifles.

Although they are rare, there are some pro 2nd amendment liberals. Pit and wife seem to be among the few. He built his wife a 400K shooting range. Even if we don’t agree with the rest of their politics, we should still accept them as fellow 2nd amendment supporters. It’s called finding common ground with those that we disagree with. And like it or not, when people like them are pro gun it is very good for our cause. If they influence even a small percentage of other liberals into not being anti 2nd amendment, then that’s a good thing. Because of how Hollywood is, it would be easier for Pitt and Jolee to act like they want guns banned. But yet they have said just the opposite.
