Taking a page from the Jonathan Swift, the Brady Campaign released a PSA that attempts to use satire to raise awareness about negligent shootings involving toddlers.
The narration in the video, created by McCann New York, encourages lawmakers to address the problem.
“It’s time we did something. We need to lock them up. Not the guns – that’s just un-American. The toddlers,” says the narrator. “Round them up. Deport them. Get them out of our country. And keep them away from our guns.”
While Brady doesn’t give a specific aggregate statistic on shootings involving toddlers, the group claimed that “more Americans were shot by toddlers than by terrorists in 2015” and that “Americans are shot by toddlers at least once a week.”
“If our elected leaders are really concerned about protecting Americans from violence, they should start with armed and dangerous toddlers,” said Dan Gross, President of the Brady Campaign.
“This PSA is satire,” continued Gross. “But the public health crisis it calls attention to is anything but. Whether the trigger is pulled by a toddler, a convicted felon, domestic abuser, or terrorist, we have a problem in America with guns too easily falling into the wrong hands.”
You see what’s going on here, right?
The Brady Campaign is exploiting child-related shootings to push their gun-grabbing agenda.
Look, in a country of 320 million people with 320-plus million firearms there are going to be accidents. It’s unavoidable. Should we tolerate accidents? Should we accept the inevitability of them? Heck no! We should constantly strive to bring down the number each and every year.
With that said, there are certain programs out there that actively seek to reduce that number. Programs such as the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s Project Childsafe, which not only provides educational information on the safe use and storage of firearms but also hands out free gun locks to participants.
More than anyone else, the gun industry wants to keep parents and children safe. It’s in our best interest to lower the rates of gun deaths and shootings. Hence, that’s why the gun industry does the most to teach consumers gun safety.
One would think that if groups like the Brady Campaign were seriously vested in bringing down gun-related violence, and saving the children, they’d support Project ChildSafe. But they don’t. Now, the question is why? Why doesn’t the Brady Campaign support what is arguably the most effective program to curb negligent gun deaths and shootings?
The answer is that they’re not interested in workable and politically feasible solutions that save lives, they’re interested in banning firearms. Listen, in theory, banning all firearms would end all gun-related violence. But that’s in theory. That’s not at all realistic. It’s a pipe dream. For one, it’s unconstitutional. And, for another, it’s a political nonstarter. Lastly, even if all guns were outlawed, outlaws would still have them. Hence, there would still be gun-related violence (as we see in places like Chicago, which has extremely tough gun laws, but, quite ironically, disproportionately high levels of gun violence).
But Brady doesn’t accept that the Second Amendment is here to stay, nor does it accept the premise that when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. It wants to keep fighting for laws that further restrict one’s right to keep and bear arms. Its endgame is to terminate civilian gun ownership. Why? Because, as I’ve said in the past, anti-gunners honestly believe that you (and your children) are more safe when you are less free to defend yourself.

I have to disagree, the Brady Bunch doesn’t honestly believe you or your children would be safer disarmed and couldn’t care less. They believe that THEY would be safer if YOU were made defenseless. They are wrong about that just like the rest of the lies and propaganda they put out.
The credibility of the Brady Campaign is almost gone and, in a desperate effort, they try to use very young children to impress the Democrats. Rational people know the truth in this issue and the Brady Campaign is clearly showing its ignorance. This may be a scam or sham to try to get votes for ROTTEN TO THE CORE HILLARY !!! Why do the radical and irrational Democrats want the United States to have a President and Commander in Chief with the deranged mind of Hillary and her MANY LIES ??
As part of that situation, we would also get Bill Clinton who had sexual activities with a girlfriend in the Oval Office and who was also impeached for being a liar. It would be the worst of times for the people who have made the great effort to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.

Toddlers (1-3 year olds) make up a small subset of the 587 gun deaths of those 0 to11 years old. There is no reliable statistic of anyone killed by toddlers, but due to the inherent lack of dexterity and strength of toddlers, it would be difficult for them to easily cycle any firearm. Could happen, has happened? Yes, but unusual just the same. Of those toddlers killed by guns, most have been by-products of gang-related violence by those 12-24 year olds who are responsible for most of the 4000 criminal gun homicides each year. Have slightly older children killed younger children? Yes, but again it has rarely happened. The whole “toddler” thing in any guise is just a distractor to raise an emotional argument and obscure the facts.
If the guns were carried in holsters by the owners (as in open carry) the toddlers would not have access to those guns!
