Cali Gun Owners Defiantly Respond to New Gun Laws

2nd Amendment – R2KBA AK-47 AR-15 Current Events Max Slowik Rifles

This summer California law makers passed sweeping, deeply controversial — and ultimately, unconstitutional — new gun control measures. These gun laws include an expanded “assault weapons” ban, a magazine ban, mandatory background checks for ammunition sales and ammo tracking and more. California gun owners are responding with a combination of creative submission and noncompliance.

One of the biggest targets with the gun control package was the “Bullet Button,” a device that transformed so-called “assault weapons” into unregistered semi-automatic firearms. Bullet buttons lock magazines in place and require a tool to unload magazines. The new law redefines these as “assault weapon” components and requires registry with California’s assault weapons database.

Darin Prince, the inventor of the original Bullet Button, has already responded to the new package with an updated, 2016 California-compliant “Bullet Button Reloaded.” The updated design for AR-style rifles no longer needs a tool, but only works with the gun disassembled. ARs take down quickly and easily with the push or pull of a single pin. Just like that, at least with ARs, the bullet button ban is a non-issue.

Solutions for other gun patterns will take more time to develop. We’re sure that gun owners will figure out ways to engineer around the new gun control laws. But other gun designs won’t have as elegant solutions as the Bullet Button Reloaded, and some may not be fixable at all. What will California’s gun owners do about those? And what about the other gun laws that engineering can’t get around, like the magazine ban and the ammo database?

Many Californian gun owners are saying they just won’t comply with the new laws. This weekend several dozen protesters gathered around California’s Cesar Chavez Plaza. They were there to show solidarity in their refusal to observe the 2016 gun control package.

“I went over to the officers and asked them, ‘Do we look like criminals to you?’” said protester Steve Sarvar to the Sacramento Bee. “And they all said that no, we didn’t. But then I told them that this legislation that’s just been signed into law is going to turn ordinary people into criminals.”

That is, if the bulk of these laws are ever actually enforced. One can imagine that the courts will use them as tack-on charges during the prosecution of hardened criminals, who will inevitably disobey them. But for everyday gun owners, the real onus on enforcing these laws is on the individual, not law enforcement. And that’s if they’re even aware of what these laws mean for them.

On top of that, many of these laws don’t go into effect for some time. This gives gun owners a sizeable window to develop a legal strategy against the gun control package. Like the Bullet Button Reloaded, people have been working on strategies to deal with this gun control package for some time.

“There needs to be a complaint filed with an injunction because these are an unconstitutional set of laws that have been passed,”said Jorge Riley, president of the Sacramento chapter of the conservative California Republic Assembly. “They shouldn’t be able to become laws until they are reviewed by a judge. It’s unconstitutional, that’s why we have judicial review.”

As far as the ammunition background check system and registry goes, we’re sure that ammo sales in neighboring states will rise as long as these laws are in effect. And for the rest, it’s not as if there’s any incentive for gun owners to turn themselves in.

One thing’s for sure and it’s that for gun control advocates, there is no “compromise,” and that their long-term goal is a complete ban via patchwork legislation.

My answer for these new anti constitutional laws is absolute non compliance. I will not add some even more ridiculous magazine latch to my rifles than the current bullet button. In fact since the bullet button which is legal now, but won’t be legal on 1/1/18, and a standard magazine release are going to both be considered felonies, I’m going to say fk it, take those stupid buttons off, and run factory magazine release buttons. I’m not surrendering, destroying, or selling my STANDARD CAPACITY (30 rd) pre-ban magazines. I will drive across state lines and purchase as much ammunition as I desire whenever I want it and then “Illegally” import that same ammunition back here like I can do now. I WILL NOT REGISTRER my rifles as assault weapons because they have never assaulted anyone. Jerry Brown, Gavin Newsome, Kevin DeLeon, and all you other Progressive, socialists, scum bag politicians can kiss my behind. I never voted for you, you don’t represent me, and I will not comply!!! Fk you!

As longs as Californians continue to support and elect crazy, gun banning liberals they’ll have to live with the outcome. If you care about your Second Amendment rights, enjoy hunting and other shooting sports, want to exercise a right to self-defense, you should probably get out of California.

The problem is simple, we are out numbered. From Sacromento up and the rest of the eastern part of the state we are very conservative. Which is why we are pushing for the state of Jefferson. We send good sound people to congress and to the state legislature. What we need is for the Federal GOV to step in and prempt CA, NY ,MA and other anti-gun states laws, just like they did to Southern states voting laws. Thats the short term solution, but until we conservative minded people start taking back our schools, they will just keep turning our kids out as little socialists.

    • Harold Bryan February 7, 2017, 4:37 pm

How many Republicans where there to vote for the Senate?
Exactly, none. There were two Democrats. The one who has already proven she is corrupt and an Unconstitutionalist Anti-Gun criminal won. Wow, that was a surprise. Now you tell me how this State can get rid of her and her peers like Ghost Gun 30 rounds in less than half a second Deleon? I live in Northern Ca. And we have no Representation up here. We have a guy in L.A. That starts the “Fire Tax” for urban areas. In court, while it was being contested because we already pay a Fire Tax on our Property Tax, the State changed it to “Fire Fee” and it was then not double taxation. The only way we are going to change this State is by having a Revolt. A Revolt because of all the Unconstitutional Laws, for Politicians like Deleon and Newsome who are just trying to jump into the Governor’s Chair next election, who made up all these Liberal Unconstitutional Laws because they are popular with Hollywood and the rest of the Liberals who have all the Representation but don’t pay taxes. A Revolt to enforce Federal Laws so that there is no Sanctuary Cities let alone State that Brown and Deleon are working on now with Holder, the disgraced ex Federal Attorney General under Obama, who was charged with Contempt by Congress. His life is nothing but scandals. You can read about some of it here http://www.whiteoutpress.com/articles/2014/q3/list-attorney-general-eric-holder-scandals/. Now you have Brown and Deleon stating they will not comply with Federal Law and deport Illegal Aliens and are looking to make California a Sanctuary State. Deleon just announced that “half his relatives are illegal aliens.” You have the Criminals running this State and I believe the only way that is going to be changes is for all Veterans and Patriots to stand together in Revolt of this Criminal Tyrannical State. Nobody else is going to do anything about the conduct of our government and that is one of the reasons why the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution was written. To avoid a government from becoming a tyranny which California government has long been. Brown and Deleon are publicly scoffing at President Donald Trump telling him that they will not obey Federal Laws. It is long past due for them to be removed from office and put in Prison where their Actions have proven they belong and Freedom brought back into California. Not just for the Capitol and all the Politicians, not just for Hollywood, but for every Man, Woman and Child, no matter the color of their skin or the balance of their Bank Account. As long as they are here legally in this State, every single law abiding citizen deserves the Freedom that the Constitution of the United States of America guarantees. Let us make this happen together to let Freedom Ring in our Borders once again!

It’s not the sane Californians supporting the gun banning Liberals, it’s the insane ones, and the currently outnumber the good guys!

  • Charles July 17, 2016, 12:37 am

I live in Hawaii and this state is o n the same path.
My wife and I are both retired from California. We still have a home in California. I think we will end. Up in Nevada. They do not have the same stupid gun laws.
Criminals will be happy when the average household is not armed. What upsets me the most is that the people that dream up this bull have armed personel with them.
They want us not to have guns they should not have protection!

    • Jon July 24, 2016, 12:19 am

Arizona or Texas is better still than Nevada. More common sense, freedoms and second amendment friendly to boot! Texas would be my choice for the simple reason that it’s hundreds of miles further away from CA.

  • Jerald Smith July 9, 2016, 10:31 pm

Why do we continue to create work arounds to their unconstitutional laws?? We are saying it is ok by following them. We cannot keep doing this. This is what keeps giving them their power.

    • Jon July 24, 2016, 12:20 am

      And your solution is…….????

  • Kevin July 9, 2016, 10:09 pm

Used to live in California for 49 years. Lost my job and income and was “free” to relocate to Arizona. In hindsight, I should have moved here after I turned 18. Those of you whom tell Kalifornias to simply move, should understand what it looks like, at least for me:

    1. Lose job and income

    2. Lose the house

    3. Voluntarily repo 2 cars

    4. Stop paying debts and hope they “charge off” the balances and don’t sue you.

    5. Take the wife and two young kids and move to a state where I didn’t know anyone or have a job waiting.

Now I know this doesn’t apply to any of you independently wealthly, no debt and paid off house people, but realize most Americans are not like you. To expect someone (and their spouse), to simply abandon their life because of what gun laws a bunch of socialists pass, is pretty ridiculous. If you have personally done it, congratulations. Saying you would do it, isn’t the same, by a long shot.

I left because I could and had to. I have a much better quality of life here in Arizona and have a better standard of living on half the income I was making in California. I don’t regret the move and would never go back. I wish I could say I left on principle, but that would be a lie.

Regarding the political side, conservatives can NEVER and Will NEVER win in Kalifornia again. This is a “One Party” state and is built to stay that way. Between all of the voting illegal aliens and traditional democratic voter fraud, the Socialist will never give up their power. Never. How do you fight a group of people who take vast sums of money from a FEW and spread it around to the MANY who vote for them, whether living, dead or simply a family pet. Conservatives can not win. When the money finally runs out, they will raise taxes, borrow more money and buy a “bailout” from Hillary with everyone’s tax money.

If you still live in California, have a plan to get out, when you can. If that means when the kids go to college, you retire, take a job transfer, etc. Do it and work your plan. In the mean time, if things get real bad in the golden state, store your “bad” guns out of state. Scottdale Gun Club offers services like that and I’m sure other dealers in Arizona do too.

    • DoubleDee July 10, 2016, 9:04 am

      Kevin
You point out a very real fact…governmental regulation is not meant to bring G-men raiding your home, taking your things at gun point. They save those situations where the ‘optics’ fit better e.g. in New Orleans after Katrina. No, the plan of action with respect to increasing gun regulation (or any regulation for that matter) is to smoke people out economically using administrative law. And if an admin law (read: an non-properly legislated regulation) is not being complied with, the state typically has cause to block or seize property or alternately pursue criminal charges. In all cases, this keeps the option of initiative with the government and creates a PR-friendly situation for the aggressive enforcement of admin law which few individuals have the means to fight against regardless of whether the individual decides to take his case to the applicable administrative agency or into the courts.
Sadly, this situation is certainly not freedom in any sense as our Founding Fathers conceived it. It is government by elite fiat, of the same type as Alan Keyes has described as “de facto” government. The result then for most folks is that to oppose creeping regulation is to risk financial ruin, seizure of property or even face criminal charges. And as we know, about the only way to be beat those odds is to be a Democratic party presidential candidate.

    • GlocksRock July 11, 2016, 2:59 am

Kevin, I have been on the receiving end of those comments about leaving CA by those who think it is so easy to do. Maybe for them it is/was. For me, not so much. I lost my job/income in 1998 due to an industrial accident and had to go on disability and worker’s comp. I have wanted to leave this state since before then, but my then-spouse was rooted here by a well-paying job and family ties. Now the spouse is history, and I feel like my income wont allow me to move. I am curious as to how you managed it, being in the same situation I am in financially, and having no friends or family to support you when you moved? By the way, I am 56 years old and had an oilfield job for 20 years before I was injured. Cant do oilfield work anymore, and am too old and disenfranchised for the only other skill I was trained for, which was law enforcement. So my prospects for getting another job are pretty slim if I moved anywhere.

    • joe August 5, 2016, 1:20 pm

Well put. Believe it off not a huge portion of ca residents ARE conservative and WOULD leave if at all possible. The ” loud&proud” crowd are a hattefull group that have manipulated the state to ruin. As a midwest born person, presently trapped here, a day doesn’t pass actively working on leaving. Until then as we are all in the 2nd amendment family I ask non ca dwellers to understand our struggle and help when possible

      • Chase October 20, 2016, 10:34 pm

If you’re forced to stay here, then please join the fight. Get on Firearms Policy Coalition and Calguns – donate, sign petitions, and spread news to friends.
We can’t all leave, that’s for sure, some must stay! If we don’t fight here, the bad laws will eventually spread to other states too.

Best thing to do: take out the uneducated and/or anti-gunners to the range. There is no better way to convince people that guns are fun and don’t automatically kill people.

Ignorance and fear are the fuels of anti-gun legislation, it’s up to us to stop the cycle.

  • Notalibe July 9, 2016, 1:00 pm

I will comply to the extent that if the new bullet button makes a rifle legal I’ll install in on one of my A/R’s but not others. Those I’ll just let set–for the time being.
I image surrounding states will see sales of ammunition increase while the poor deals who work hard here in Ca. will suffer.
Government is really the problem. They always attack the law abiding citizen while ignoring the results of the stupid laws they pass. As many others have said–the criminal doesn’t care about the laws. That is why they are criminals. DUH! Politicians, especially liberals don’t get it. Last–Liberalism is truly a mental disease. These stupid laws are just one more example.

    • Jeanette July 9, 2016, 9:21 pm

I’m not so sure that liberal politicians don’t understand what’s going on; I think it is far more sinister. I suspect that there is a nasty plot afoot to disenfranchise (and possibly even eliminate) the American middle class, and replace it with groups of people who aren’t as smart or as driven as native-born Americans have traditionally been, because those folks are easier to fool and to control.

      • Brian "Doc" Burry July 15, 2016, 12:08 pm

The issue is not just going to control which they want to curve: “gun violence it is total CONTROL. If one cannot bear arms as a Constitutional 2nd Amendment right – which of the other Anendments will be eliminated next?!
The inability to have a magazine in one’s choice whether it be 1020 or 30 rounds and the inability to buy ammo is the back door way to total gun control.
Then I start thinking of autonomous driving cars and electric cars so they can control our transportation and even distance traveled.
I remember my father explaining you don’t want a cashless society, you don’t want them to control the media, you don’t want them to control movement, and when they do these things – then they take total control.
It’s sad we have such a great country, a beautiful state but being ruined by liberal politicians. The Liberals don’t have the same philosophy of a strong constitution, rights granted by it and A true sovereign nation.
We should not stand for this taking of our rights and Constition by Liberal Politicians.

        • Keith July 18, 2016, 5:23 pm

This is a big reason I don’t want autopilot cars. The government will start controlling where your car can go. The electric car movement seems harmless to me as long as they continue to allow gasoline cars or other types of cars for long trips. Within four years there will be about five companies making 160 mile electric cars. Where I live air pollution is a problem and more people driving electric and hybrid cars helps reduce air pollution. Some Tesla electric cars are already around 365 miles in range. In the near future I would not be surprised to see 450 miles of range.

  • Duane Meulners July 9, 2016, 1:09 am

Seems all have reasonable arguments however we are not it seems paying attention to the changes in demographics. More and more changes are taking place in ethnicity and distributions (populations focusing on the cities). I won’t go into the stats here as it is a bit lengthily in scope, however, we see that the population of the country has grown from 120 million when I was a kid to now over 300 million and the ethnic mix has changed dramatically. In fact it is a different world from the days of Kate Smith to what it is today (I reserve comments on what it is today). Thus what we have is a conundrum of mixed races, mixed religious proclivities, and most of all mixed social mores. Against that backdrop we face greater social changes and difficulties and arms is one of them. Take Chicago, the cradle of crime where murder is everywhere despite strict gun laws. So, obviously gun control through legislation simply does not work especially it seems in the black communities. Legislation limiting gun access is not going to work as the criminals will arm themselves no matter what and besides if you want to take someone out there are the old and trusty methods of knives, base ball bats or tire irons.
In short our problem is social, not guns. The real problem is the schooling system as it has failed miserably to teach civics and mutual respect under a system of law. Kids raised in ghettos where the parents encourage their kids to steal is the portal to weapons and especially guns. So this fight over guns is stupid, the real problems are societal and I fear this is not going to get better as long as fellow citizens fall victim to the promises of the left.
If we take away the guns, then are we to take away bats, pocket knives, tire wrenches and bare knuckles????

  • Patriot July 8, 2016, 11:24 pm

DO SOMETHING THAT WOULD BE BEST FOR THE ENTIRE UNITED STATES. VOTE OUT THE DEPLORABLE PEOPLE SUCH AS GOV. BROWN, FEINSTEIN, PELOSI, KAINE, ETC. NEW YORK NEEDS TO GET RID OF SCHUMER. WE NEED TO FIND A WAY TO LET BLOOMBERG, SOROS AND BILL CLINTON KNOW THEY ARE IDIOTS AND ARE PEOPLE WITH ASININE OPINIONS THAT TAKE AWAY CONSTITUTIONAL FREEDOMS. WE NEED TO GET RID OF THESE PEOPLE THAT ARE DEPLORABLE AND PURE TRASH.

    • Jeanette July 9, 2016, 9:23 pm

We need to find out who thought that Soros, with his despicable history in Nazi Germany, would make a fine new citizen for America, and signed off to let him into the U.S.

    • MotownMarty July 9, 2016, 9:33 pm

Yes, that would be nice but too many of the younger generation and new “arrivals” to California are dependent on fascist gubbmint to run their lives. As long as they’re promised “free stuff” by the Browns and Feinsteins of the world, they’ll vote for them because they’re totally incapable of self-sufficiency.

    • Terry Costakis August 5, 2016, 10:01 am

That would be great if it worked however the liberal progressives don’t play by the same rules as we do and they think nothing of manipulating and fixing election results to keep their people in power. This will be born out in November.

  • Bri July 8, 2016, 11:14 pm

I grew up in California in the 60’s and 70’s, but had to make my escape to eastern Washington after returning from an extended stint in the military. My eyes were opened while serving in various hell holes overseas, and now I reside in a place similar to northern Florida with no state taxes, shall-issue carry permits, low illegal immigration, pleasant weather (but 4 seasons instead of 1), beautiful scenery (vastly more beautiful than the “brown” hills of California), and a humble mentality that makes for very good living. I’ve been back to SoSoCal many times, and just see my former home state sinking deeper and deeper into their leftist, socialist, OPM (“other people’s money”) quagmire, and I know more than ever I can never return. I’m saddened, it was a wonderful place to grow up, and the coastal areas are beautiful beyond compare, but the despoiling is nearly complete, and this is essentially one of the “last nails in the coffin”. Form follows function. Business follows the money. When there is neither opportunity nor security, my former home will simply be ceded back to Mexico or otherwise just fall off the map into the abyss of some backward, broke third-world nation. Such a pity, such a tremendous loss, but unless and until things make some kind of miraculous 180, I’ll continue to be satisfied I made the right decision to wholesale pick-up-sticks and bail on the failed ideology in play in this place. Really too bad, but trust me, there are vastly better places to live, Washington, Montana, Idaho, and more, where people can live free, exercise their rugged independence, and where the Constitution of the United States stills reigns supreme as the law of the land. Escape while you can my brethren, before the CA border-control Stazi locks you in place until your ultimate and certain demise.

I’m sorry if this seems incredibly rude to you bed-wetting liberals, this ex-Californian has a message for Jerry Brown and the gun-hating liberals in the California legislature: Go fu*k yourselves! And to the rest of California: If you don’t like the liberal, bed-wetter’s’ laws, stop voting them into office!

  • OG July 8, 2016, 8:32 pm

As as ex criminal I can only assure you that these gun laws do nothing but make it harder for law abiding citizens to defend themselves . People who are active in the streets don’t buy an “assault weapon” from their local gun store. It’s usually a stolen firearm or brought in from other states. Hell, you can ban large mags again if you want. It’s never stopped people from owning them or purchasing them elsewhere.

  • Biggest Hatt July 8, 2016, 6:16 pm

        • Mick July 11, 2016, 10:41 am

GlocksRock, so true, the californicators are/have totally screwed up Colorado. Like California, the population centers of Denver, Boulder, and front range cities control the state.

I left California over ten years ago. I left because I hated the crowds and wanted liberty. Studying the evils of socialism I really hate it now as well. If you want to leave California and convert to a libertarian you are welcome in States that love freedom.

  • Brandon Horkey July 8, 2016, 3:59 pm

Dont worry, we (cops) are aware of the new Komi laws…..there is talk of selective enforcement….if grandpa is teaching gson how to shoot using a high cap mag, no criminal history barring possession of guns…we look the other way. You are convicted felon criminal we will not.

Red counties think like that, cant talk for blue counties like LA or Fiasco, sorry Frisco.

    • Beachhawk July 8, 2016, 10:18 pm

I used to live in San Diego County in the 60’s and 70’s when it was a very red county and Orange County, CA was one of the most conservative counties in the country. Those days are long gone and I now live in gun-friendly, low tax Florida. We have plenty of water, good schools, great street and highways, no collapsing bridges, good legislators, robust tourism and no state income taxes. California, on the other hand, has been in a multi-year drought, built no new reservoirs, still dumps good fresh water into the Pacific Ocean to save a bait fish, raises taxes every year, watches their schools, inner cities and vital infrastructure crumble while the California governor and legislature quibbles about magazine capacity. I guess it’s true: You get what you pay forth and the California Legislature is bought and paid for by the liberal elites in Hollywood, San Francisco and Silicon Valley.

    • M. Stig July 9, 2016, 11:58 pm

Sorry, I can no longer trust cops. You wear a badge of authority to enforce these BS law when you feel like it. What’s to say you won’t have a bad day or you don’t like the way someone looks? Who’s to say your superiors will rewuire your enforcement of these laws? You and your ilk need to speak out against these laws. Where was the police union stance on this? I never heard a peep from them. I am sure you are a great stand up guy, buy that badge comes between us now.

      • Chuck July 10, 2016, 11:31 pm

        M. Stig…….your response is very immature. The are MANY law enforcement that are pro 2nd Amendment. I am native DPRK (Democratic peoples republic of Kalifornia) and now live in Az. My son is a deputy sheriff in a No Cal county (No Cal may soon to Jefferson) and the LEO’s in No Cal are 2nd Amendment friendly as long as you are not stupid, or practice stupid stuff. Be more respectful, LEO’s have earned it……..

The Communist Progressive Liberal Trash have taken over ALL of the large urban area voter blocks and therefore control the unconstitutional political tyranny in Kalifornication! 🙁
The California Courts and the 9th Circuit Court are stacked with American Communist Lawyers Union judges and advocates and so therefore political tyranny of the type which Thomas Jefferson warned against in the misapplied theory of Democracy which why he and the Founders setup this country as a FEDERATED REPUBLIC, NOT A DEMONCRACY!
The Constitution was SUPPOSED to be the guiding law which is SUPPOSED to hold the government subservient to the Constitution FIRST and the misguided “will of the people” SECOND!
Until those principles reintade by either the actions of the Courts or the Voters or BOTH the present Political Tyranny will continue in Kalifonication!

    • steve crawford July 8, 2016, 4:52 pm

The NRA have successfully spread the lie to many Americans that the anti-gun movement AND the DEMOCRATS/LIBERALs are trying to take away firearms from ALL citizens. The Democrat Senator, Congresspersons, Hillary, and Sanders MUST make that clear that is not their agenda. That they will uphold US Citizens 2nd amendment Right for all law abiding citizens.
The First objective should be is to write FEDERAL Laws that will make it a crime to use a firearm in the commission of a crime against persons or property and that they should receive a penalty no less than 15 years, it will be attached and applied consecutively to other charges. NO gun should be sold or purchased without a Background Check unless the person has a concealed handgun permit that is not over two years old. This includes private sales or gifts. The seller should require a transfer sale or gift of the firearm, such as the requirements of selling and buying a vehicle.
The three-day waiting period should be increased from three days to ten working days. However, if a flag is raised ALL law enforcement agencies both locally and nationally should be notified and the applicant also. The Law enforcement agency that places a person (especially a US Citizens) on the No-fly list must in 90 days give the person a hearing.
However, I am against any laws of requiring Law Abiding Citizens to register their firearms, such as in Washington, DC and some other states. No unlawful person should have a gun in their home under penalty of law. ALL sell of assault weapons should be outlawed and sales stopped, all those that have them should be registered with the ATF and fees and laws applied to them as the same as owners of fully automatic weapons.
Maybe one day when all the ignorant Gun Nuts are gone the USA will duplicate the Swiss nation custom of all law abiding citizens having guns in their home. And also maybe a Conceal Handgun License will be valid in all US States, but that will NOT happen until the NRA is dissolved. Background Checks For ALL sales of firearms. No-FLY, No Guns.
When a US Citizen’s name is put on the No-Fly list they should be notified, and ALL law enforcement agencies should be notified of both US Citizens and non-citizens name being placed on the list.

You really are ignorant aren\’t you. Sounds like you\’ve been drinking Obama-aid. If what you are proposing happened the only way it works is with registration. What I do and have in my home is my business. If libtards get Hitlery in then say goodbye to the 1st, 2nd and 4th amendments within 1 year. Within 2 years the second American revolution begins. LEAVE OUR RIGHTS ALONE!!!!!

      • bigroccrek July 8, 2016, 7:49 pm

You sir are denying a village somewhere of it’s idiot!

        • Cam July 8, 2016, 10:17 pm

Nope, he is the village idiot!

      • Kenneth Maraccini July 8, 2016, 10:52 pm

You do realize that all those Swiss gun owners have Military fully automatic rifles in their homes and you want to ban
“assault weapons” which if you had bothered do basic research does not include semi-automatic weapons of any style in any definition other than the uninformed politicians.

      • Aaron Prince July 9, 2016, 12:07 am

You sound like a communist that voted for obumus.Assault weapon is a term liberals created. They are called firearms.Leave America if you dont like citizens owning any carrying all kind of weapons.

      • hey July 9, 2016, 1:01 am

You must have been born yesterday! The gun control agenda has never stopped and will always be going, even if your laws came into effect. 10 years from now gun control debate will still be present if we are not already military defeated. We are already economicly defeated as each year progresses. Have you noticed the wreckless monetary policies that has wrecked the future and power of the country????? Have you noticed all of the chronically ill and how many people you know over 50 that suffering or dieing prematurely while becoming dependent on this elaborate health care system convinently created for us. While the FDA keeps approving a multi billionaire’s products for the food market that kills lab rats with cancer and other ways? Have you noticed all of our rights being stripped away freedom of speech, right to privacy, just name a few. I see our government as America’s worst enemy that is controlled by the global elite, mostly the central bankers. You will see soon enough as the engineered for destruction of the dollar is replaced by SDRs, that is the IMO’s basket of currencies. Even when it happens, I think you are too ignorant to see why it is happening as you turn your head to the main stream idols that fill your head with lies. At least the NRA is funded by regular class Americans, rather than billionaire elites who fund the anti gun agenda, such as Bloomberg’s Mayors against Guns. I do believe in strict laws for druggies, dealers, rapest, armed robbers, etc. However the government makes much more money by letting them out to influence the next generation of criminals. America has 6 times more criminal per GOP than the second worst country in the world, that is England. So strict laws for real criminals (selfish people) are a thing of the past for this country. Only strict laws like environmental, business, gun laws, etc. to steal from the hard working people who just mind their own business and go to work every day!

      • Jim July 9, 2016, 2:46 pm

Crawford…you really should do some research before you go babbling on about a subject on which you apparently KNOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Now, go stick your head back in the sand, just like the rest of the dimocratic idiots. Don’t run your mouth about subjects about which you certainly don’t have a clue. Better to keep your mouth shut and appear a fool, than to open it AND REMOVE ALL DOUBT!

      • Evangeline July 9, 2016, 4:33 pm

Nice try, Lying Liberal, but we know that Liberals take the guns, then take the country.
It has nothing to do with carnage, or concern for safety. It is all about taking over the country. The 100 year goal of the Left in America.
Stalin, Hitler, Mao: they came for the guns, and took over their countries – the result being 236 MILLION deaths in the 20th.
Communists rarely do ti all at once,it is a little at a time.
All of us think that the mentally ill should not have guns, so you want to take advantage of that, and suppress their right to do so. THEN, you will go an inch further, and take away a few more rights.
In California, AMMUNITION purchases will require registration.Really?
How about all those guns in the hands of Obama’s army – the militant blacks? – all stolen, all illegal. I never hear anything about those weapons, and they are infinitely more dangerous than weapons held by law abiding citizens.
Oh, but wait, we need those black criminals to help slaughter the law abiding and take over the country.

Nations do not die by murder, they die by suicide.

        • GlocksRock July 11, 2016, 4:12 am

Evangeline, Gov. Moonbatt only signed the ammunition registration requirement so we in CA have to pay yet one more fee, in addition to a $25 Handgun Safety Certificate, and a $25 Rifle Certificate. Now they will probably charge us another $25 to get an ammunition acquisition certificate. I agree with everything you said. California, and indeed this whole nation is sadly going under.

      • GlocksRock July 11, 2016, 3:54 am

I don’t know where you are getting your information from, but perhaps you should pay closer attention when Hillary’s lips are moving. Usually that is when you can tell she is lying. But she has said on many occasions that “The Supreme Court got it wrong …. and I am going to make that case every chance I get.” She was referring to carrying of guns outside the home. She has also stated that gun control will be her top priority from day one in the Oval Office if she is elected (GOD HELP US)! These are the only things she has ever said that I believe, and she will do exactly what she says by hook or by crook, which she well knows about. Most of the other things you stated already ARE laws (at least in CA.) And there are over 30,000 gun laws in the books which are not enforced as a general rule. The only people who think that more gun laws or restrictions or bans are going to solve anything are idiots who still think that criminals are going to abide by them! Bank robbery, kidnapping, rape, murder are ALL against the law. And yet we still have robbers, kidnappers, rapists and murderers. So, by your reasoning, we should ban banks, because they cause robbers. We should ban kids, because they beget kidnappers. We should ban women because they cause rapists. And we should ban any type of tool, car, sports equipment, cooking skillets, knives, and dont forget hands and feet because, in case you dont get it, or are too stupid to admit it, statistics have proven time and again that these things…tools, if you will… are used more often in murders than guns. Also, a gun is an inanimate object. It cannot walk out the door one fine day and decide to go kill someone all by itself. At least I have never seen a lone gun floating around firing at people, and I would think after all this time on earth I would have seen it. And lastly, STOP calling semi-automatic firearms ASSAULT RIFLES! THEY ARE NOT! An “assault rifle” is a weapon capable of full-auto or selective fire, and to own one you have to be licensed, pay hefty fees, and almost have Top Security Clearance from the govt! (ok, the part about TSC was a joke. But not by much). In CA., the rifles you and your ilk perpetually call “assault rifles” have now been expanded to include previously innocuous deer rifles that have been around for decades, just because they are SEMI_AUTO and have a detachable magazine! They are no more assault rifles than my Dodge truck is an assault vehicle! So, dear stevie, the next time you decide to post your anti-gun opinions on a pro-gun board, and call the people there names just because you disagree with them, you ought to get educated first.

      • Jim May 22, 2017, 10:54 am

They don’t want our guns? You are a moron. Hillary ran on gun control. She wanted Australian style gun control. She and her minions think that they can outlaw MSR’s and we will just hand them over. Guess again. Not only is taking by fiat unconstitutional it can’t be done without paying the owners for their property. We the gun owners of America will not comply, period. If you think Government will do it by force guess again. There will be less and less live agents each day untill the few that are left stop.

  • rayray999 July 8, 2016, 3:12 pm

IF YOU ARE UNHAPPY ABOUT THE NEW GUN LAWS DO SOMETHING!

    • hey July 9, 2016, 1:39 pm

“DO SOMETHING” You sound like a Democrat. Do what? Besides join the NRA, wright to congress and most importantly speak up. What else can a single middle class man do? I am all ears!!

      • Robert July 9, 2016, 10:06 pm

Stock up on ammo now and clear the shelves. Then boycott ammunition sales when the law takes effect. Buy your ammo someplace else. Jack with their tax revenue. Vote out your tyrannical politicians. Identify your Hollywood gun-haters and boycott their movies and the products they endorse. Don’t watch talk shows when they are on them. You have computers, use them! Tell the company Executive Offices that you won’t buy products if you use John or Jane Doe to advertise them. C’mon you Californians! Grow a pair and take back your land before they geld you all!

        • John August 16, 2016, 11:10 am

Yes start hoarding and then stop buying, which will put our small gun dealers out of business, the same guys who have been on our side all these years. Yeah lets throw them under the bus, and screw over our friends. That will teach those Anti-gunners. Sorry Robert but you don’t what you are talking about. Once Hilderbeast starts stacking the Supreme court with activist judges its all over for you too. Are you really going to hold off the Gestapo with an AR and 2000 rounds of hoarded ammo? You need to read the other posts about the real dynamics of CA politics.

  • Douglas Broaddus July 8, 2016, 2:56 pm

I have lived in California all 58 years of my life, and yes, it has changed. Remember, Reagan came from California! Don\’t expect anything like that to happen again!California is a one party State. The Dem\’s control everything; every State elected position in Sacramento is held by a Dem, the Dem\’s have arranged, through redistricting, to maintain control of the State legislature FOREVER and now generally have a super-majority. That means they don\’t even have to acknowledge the Rep\’s for ANYTHING! The Rep\’s went along with the redistricting plan because they were promised to keep the districts they held at the time and not lose any more! There is NO WAY to fix California. Arnold actually tried and was beat down by the people; LA and San Fransisco are the tail wagging the dog. Too many on the government dole or just plain liberal-dumb. Remember, Nancy Pelosi wins her seat to represent San Fransisco in Congress with about 85% of the vote!! NANCY PELOSI, the poster child for idiot politician!!!
I\’m fighting, but it doesn\’t feel like I\’m winning.

    • Eric Mickley July 8, 2016, 3:24 pm

I used to live in California myself.. I got the hell out 18 years ago, and never looked back, except to pity my dear friends living in slavery. I live in Florida now. No State Income Tax, no traffic, less crime, warmer water, people speak English (except in Miami), affordable housing, less racism, nicer police, and I can carry a gun everywhere I go… Its Paradise!! The only thing better in California is the weather, and I’m reasonably sure the Democrats will find some way to screw that up too. Time for all sensible Californians to abandon the sinking ship before they build a Berlin wall to keep you in for tax revenue, lol.

    • Arnold Sanders July 8, 2016, 10:10 pm

I’m leaving in 2 years, when financially able. Just hope I still have my guns when I do.

    • GlocksRock July 11, 2016, 4:02 am

And dont forget Dianne Frankenstein and Barbara Boxer (who, thankfully will be gone after this term). The two Witches of the East Bay. It doesnt do Californians any good to write to those two. Our letters would just go to the shredder poste haste.

  • Jerry July 8, 2016, 2:53 pm

For those of you who say we should simply move out of the state, you are talking out of your @$$. Most people find it to be a long, arduous process to uproot your entire life and that of your family. You not only have to find new jobs, a new home, new schools, you also have to leave all of your friends behind. Not to mention all of the other grief you incur that doesn’t even come to mind (but will eat up a lot of your time). And after all of that, WHY should we have to leave in the first place? I may eventually move out of this state, but it will be at a time of my choosing.

If you feel so strongly about it, why don’t YOU pack up and move here to help us with the fight. Then, and only then, can you say it’s an easy thing to do. If you aren’t willing to do what you yourself are suggesting, stop taking trash and actually do something productive like donating money to California gun rights organizations (calgunsfoundation.org, GOC, CRPA for starters) to prevent this madness from taking over the country.

    • Eric Mickley July 8, 2016, 3:36 pm

I’LL NEVER LEAVE THIS SINKING SHIIIII…. gurgle, gurgle, gurgle, drowning noises, silence…….. Meanwhile in Florida, I place the new Sig 516 piston AR I bought with the money I saved from paying no State Income Tax back in my safe, strap on my double stack 1911, and go out to dinner on the beach with my wife who is also packing, lol. Somewhere off in the vast distance I hear a gurgling sound…

    • Aaron Prince July 9, 2016, 12:09 am

If you don’t want to move out of California then deal with the liberal laws that your representatives will impose on you.

    • Robert July 9, 2016, 10:25 pm

You are typical of what the modern California middle class citizen has apparently become: you whine because there is no-one to bail you out of your dilemma because it’s just too hard for you to get off of your own dead butt to buck the system and change your circumstances and alter your fate. If all of the middle class Californians are like you, then you are all screwed. You’re scared man. And you will never be more than you are right now.

    • Cletus Jones August 5, 2016, 7:56 am

It’s all dependent on what is important to you, Jerry. 25 years ago, I saw what was happening in Cali. I decided I did not wish to live among people I have no respect for, so I did some research. I found a (South Eastern) state that had people like me and a decent job market, sold my house, packed what I could get into a moving truck (gave everything else away) and moved my family to America.

I didn’t have a job, didn’t know anyone here. It was scary, but the alternative was worse. All these years later, we’re happy and secure. California seems like a bad dream, and we never go there.

It isn’t anything anyone can’t do. It is all a matter of will.

  • American Patriot July 8, 2016, 1:51 pm

Californians-come to Oregon and buy your Ammo, extended magazines, rifles and pistols. We’d be glad to have your business and glad to “stick it” it Gov. “Pussy” Brown!
    MOLON LABE

  • steve crawford July 8, 2016, 1:15 pm

The waiting period to buy a gun should be at least TEN working days. And any glitches in the application of the submitter should be notified. All the Law enforcement agencies need to jointly share any person’s that raised a flag. It is better to make a mistake and falsely flag an applicant than to provide loop holes for a domestic or foreign terrorist to obtain a weapon. As always you gun nuts are only concerned about your right to have and purchase guns but not preventing the loss of a life. Get someone to show you how to Google what nation leads in gun death, ownership and incarceration. The First objective should be is to write FEDERAL Laws that will make it a crime to use a firearm in the commission of a crime against persons or property and that they should receive a penalty no less than 15 years, it be attached and applied consecutively to other charges. NO gun should be sold or purchased without a Background check, unless the person has a concealed handgun permit that is not over two years old. This includes private sales or gifts. The seller should require a transfer sale or gift of the firearm, such as the requirement of a selling and buying a vehicle.
However, I am against any laws of requiring Law Abiding Citizens to register their firearms, such as in Washington, DC and some other states. No unlawful person should have a gun in their home under penalty of law. ALL sells of assault weapons should be outlawed and sales stopped, all those that have them should be register with the ATF and fees applied to them as the same as fully automatic weapons.
Maybe one day when all the ignorant gun nuts are gone the USA will duplicate the Swiss nation custom of all law-abiding citizens having guns in their home.
Background Checks For ALL sales of firearms. No-FLY, No Guns.

    • Thomas July 8, 2016, 1:30 pm

You are obviously a moron if you think full auto and assault weapon are not the same thing.
When lists are bypassing legal due process they are unconstitutional, period. Anyone that thinks otherwise is either ignorant or a fascist.
Ever have enough brains to ask how a person gets on the list or off it? Why are people that should not be on the lists still on them?
If you hate America and American culture freedoem so much, then go live somewhere else.
Just because you choose not to exercise your rights does not mean by default that no one else can.

    • Troy C. July 8, 2016, 1:45 pm

Your ability to speak should require a waiting period, a written letter of exactly what you will say, it must be hand delivered to a state law enforcement official. it must be hand written with ink and quill, where the officials may review your proposed speech for a minimum of 10 days. At that point state officials may deny your freedoms at their discretion. after all every one of these acts have been preceded with words. better to limit your speech that allow a terrorist foreign or domestic to preach hate and voice right?
Strange that nothing in your diatribe had anything to do with stopping the current criminals in society, only the assault on lawful citizens…. Places with extreme gun control such as Chicago should be havens of safety correct?
now we are fine with extensive criminal punishments if a firearm was used in the commission of a crime, but I have a feeling you would be opposed to a young man, whom robbed a liquor store going to prison for 50 years if he had a gun in his pocket. I feel even a knife should land that individual in prison for the rest of his life, and if that criminal brandished the weapon in commission of the crime, the death penalty…. you want the killings to stop? eliminate the criminals we know are committing them..

      • pdowns July 8, 2016, 2:06 pm

At that point state officials may deny your freedoms at their discretion.” Troy, you just described the application process for free speech at most colleges and any place the federal government sees fit to use those principals for effective speech control, such as the protests around the Bundy Ranch and that reserve in Oregon. Thing about is that tyranny has reared it’s ugly head in this nation in myriad ways, and all these people are bending over and accepting the the length of the White House and all it’s friends. All I’m saying is I ain’t going out like that. Pull any of this shit on me and people are going to die. These nutbags have taken their last from me. All I have left is lead. And I’m hanging onto that till I need it. Get your fucking asses in gear and make this world right again for your kids people……..

    • wasntme July 8, 2016, 3:46 pm

You can pass all the laws you want and it doesn’t matter. Criminals don’t obey the law. Take all the guns away from law abiding citizens and it doesn’t matter. There are still plenty on the streets and will also create a new way for people to make money smuggling by guns into the US, Lets say hypothetically for the sake of argument it’s possible to eliminate every single gun off the face of the planet. Still doesn’t matter. People who want to do bad things will do bad things. If there is a will, there is a way.

    • Ram6 July 8, 2016, 3:54 pm

Hey Steve. Nice post. Unfortunately for you it’s bereft of facts. Let’s try this on for size to refute your “As always you gun nuts are only concerned about your right to have and purchase guns but not preventing the loss of a life.”

      Abortion deaths through June 15 – 501,325
      Obesity deaths through June 15 – 140,939
      Drug abuse deaths ” ” “

      • Ram6 July 8, 2016, 3:56 pm

    • J July 8, 2016, 11:11 pm

      Steve,
I own a couple of guns already, a background check takes about 15 minutes to run, why should I have to wait to take possession of my property? If I really need to kill somebody today I can use one of the guns I already own or pick a more common but equally leathal means like a hammer or kitchen knife. which I believe if you bothered to check the FBI data base on all homicide are more popular for the purpose than firearms. My guess Steve is that you have only looked at one side if the argument. Both sides are good a spewing crap look at the real numbers not the ones either side sends you. If we really wanted to stop meaningless death pain and suffering we would require a permit to buy alcohol and tobacco. They kill more people than guns on an exponential level. Guns are scary because even the weak and powerless can become proficient and there for dangerous to people that wish to bully them or do them harm, and that is why the anti gun camp wants them banned. They are people that believe in the good nature of man kind. I have been around the world serving our country and I can tell you that yes there are good people but it only takes a few bad ones with weapons to make the world a living hell, God made man but Sam Colt made them equal, if you don’t believe that take a walk through down town Detroit unarmed ( or Iraq, Afghanistan, Morocco, Mexico City, ect.) with out a pistol on your hip and see what happens.

    • Brian McEnroe July 11, 2016, 11:56 am

You just don’t get it do you Crawford? These proposals will only make it a teensy weensy bit harder for criminals to obtain guns and it will be very burdensome on law abiding citizens, not to mention expand another bureaucracy for Kalifornia to reach into our pockets. I already moved to FL and I’m glad I did. CA is well on it’s way to Hell in a handbasket.

  • PETER PHILLIPS July 8, 2016, 1:11 pm

I wonder if thete is any reason to dope keeps referring to the rifle as an assault weapon?

I don’t see the grenade launcher, full auto tab, Bayonetta lug, or threaded barrel.

  • skipNclair July 8, 2016, 1:10 pm

People of Calif. if you want to win, you must protest in a way that they get hurt and understand. Starting tomorrow, do not purchase anything other then the bare necessities , take your money out of the banks, go to no events like concerts, sporting events etc. and in a week you will wake the homo brown up and in a month you will have victory, Any law regardless of who signs or writes it that infringes against your constitutional rights, and any one that denies you your God given rights must be ignored.,

    • Larry July 8, 2016, 1:58 pm

Skip is absolutely spot on. This is the best non violent way to reach the consciousness of the leftists. The pocket book is like a swift kick to the nads. Do it if you want to stop their crap. Don’t & you’ll eventually be buried in leftist meadow muffins.

The criminals in this world are out to rob,and kill those that have what they will not work to get. They will us any instrument the can get to do this.Even a golf club, car, bat, brick, and the list goes on and on.The average american has only one defense. .Own a fire arm that they can defend themselves against criminals. When criminals fears the armed citizen it will lower the crime rate. Our federal government, as it is now will not protect any citizen .Bad Odor has over the years proven this to be a fact..Passing more gun laws has not lowered the crime rate. This is Bad Odors excuse for his total failure. As forDamon not in my house ever again. What an idiot. Now to another matter.Do you think that the wife of the only second president of the USA to have been impeached and is our national pervert will do any better job than Bad Odor?

  • Ross Walters July 8, 2016, 12:54 pm

California gun owners will complain but there’s nothing they can do about these new gun control laws.
The gun owners aren’t BLM cop shooters and not likely to riot in the streets.
If you live in that state you have my condolences but as I see it you have four choices:
Become an outlaw, give up your guns, become a law-enforcement officer of some kind, or move to a gun friendly state.

As someone who is a resident and a native of the Deep South and a solid Red State, I just cannot understand what makes California politics the way they are. It wasn’t this way 50 years ago. Did they start spiking the water? Second mystery is why gun owners stay and take the abuse. There are better and far less expensive places to live. That entertains another observation, why is everything, especially real estate so outrageously expensive in California?

Toyota International left California for Texas and will have 400 supplier satellite businesses follow them to the Lone Star State…as well, Kubota Tractor International left California for North Texas and their supplier companies will follow them as well. 15,000 new residents per MONTH are flooding into North Texas from all over the states, and a large contingent are evacuating the sinking Titanic that is Kalifornistan…and they are coming here, to God’s Country, Texas! We love out Country, our Constitution, and our Guns here in Texas.

      • Rides A Pale Horse July 9, 2016, 1:08 am

Those who wonder HOW a formerly solid red state becomes blue and turns the corner, becoming Californicated, it begins with the exodus from those blue states like Calipornia of liberals, intent on turning red states blue.

Texas is in their sights. The “flight” you speak of is good for your economy UNTIL there is enough of a liberal infestation to Calipornicate your state.

That 15,000 new residents per MONTH figure contains how many liberals, bound and determined to change YOUR state into the liberal “utopia” they left.

Liberals are like locusts. They invade, destroy everything in their path and then move on to new ground only to repeat the same behavior.

    • pdowns July 8, 2016, 1:59 pm

Great questions – – as a life-long resident of CA the best answer I can give, if you’re inviting one, is that through immigration, migration, taxes and aging the ‘red’ in California has been bled down. And, those of us who remained got abandoned by the national GOP for places like Ohio, Florida and Virginia. Combined with how our state assembly districts [had been] formed over the last twenty or so years, the GOP became toothless and gutted. As a direct result, California has become a very unbalanced government. It is not representative of it’s populous, it is a de-facto one party, Democrat, rule in spite of the electorate, not because of it.
Why stay? Hell, why leave? Now, don’t take this as sharp words, but why don’t good conservative folks from Dixie and elsewhere uproot and come here? Help us fellow patriots reclaim the Land of Reagan! I’m kidding, obviously. But, I hear from a lot of like-minded folks who are encouraging 2d Am supporters to abandon California. I think that’s a horrid idea, personally, and is partly the reason why the State is in the shape she’s in. A lot of folks my age and older, who are conservative people have left the State for places like Idaho, or Colorado, Arizona also for a better cost of living. Their ranks have been replenished with conservatives. But why stay to take the abuse? I don’t know. I just can’t bring myself to cede my birth home to the other side. So, I think I’ll stick it through till the end, no matter how bitter. I love my State. I’ve been to or through every one of the lower-48 with the exception of the Dakotas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Rhode Island and Michigan. Beautiful land, wonderful people, but I haven’t seen anything or met anyone that makes me want to live anywhere but where I live now. Was born here, got family buried here, got kids to raise here, and God willing I’ll be buried here when it’s time – notwithstanding its politics. We got real nice weather, too. And Condors. That’s almost five actual reasons I stay to take this abuse.
Maybe part of me is clinging to a naive faith in Due Process? That in the end confiscation can only come if the 2d Am is repealed? So for now I’ll endure under this tyranny 😉 and look forward to better days. As for the pernicious cost of living, it’s supply and demand. Although, I’ll tell you what, for as ‘globally’ liberal as Californians can act, when it comes to county-level, local zoning restrictions and regulations, they fight like feudal lords at Runnymede for autonomy from the State. The biggest koolaid drinking, oil is evil, love is love liberal people I know fight like hell to prevent low-income housing from being built next door to them. Is it irony? yes. Is is paradoxical? hmm-mm. Is it keeping my home value up? ‘Betcha! Because of fascist liberals in my county I get cool perks, such as, there are no billboards in my county on any road. My views are unobstructed, literally. Another reason not to move.
That’s all to say, in a moment of seriousness, that to move to another state is to surrender – that’s just my opinion about it. About these laws though, they’re not done. Re-loaders are next. At that point, I might have to throw my hat in the ring and actually try a run for an assembly seat … or wait (perhaps in vain) for the pendulum to swing back.

God bless [and save] California, please.

      • Clem July 8, 2016, 11:06 pm

The state is turning blue due to the lack of oxygen in the bloodstream which would travel to the brain allowing the government class to think.

    • murphjuss July 8, 2016, 3:49 pm

It happens when a bunch of liberals migrate to a state.

  • Dell July 8, 2016, 10:56 am

There have been several movie DVDs of moronic, anti-gun actors that I have enjoyed blowing into glittering fragments when I learned of their anti-American stance. Now I can add Dimwitted Damon’s to the pile.

  • JesseJ July 8, 2016, 10:44 am

As a life-long gun owner, cop, instructor, hunter, competitive shooter and American citizen, I can understand the vitriolic rhetoric of those of you who choose to live in CA. This may sound harsh and insensitive, but move. Move to Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas or any state that protects your Second Amendment rights. Not easy, you say? of course not. Here’s the thing: you are victims of political correctness. Cause and effect are natural results in weather, chemical reactions, and political polarization. By withdrawing from CA’s economic culture, they lose your tax dollars, your spending power, and your support of state agencies. Eventually, the state will collapse on itself because of their liberal policies. Crime will not go down. Crime is highest in areas with the most restrictive gun laws. That’s a fact. It’s happened that way in Britain, Australia, Scotland and else where they thought “gun control” was the answer. Duh, Matt Damon, tell me where restrictive gun laws have worked to stop crime. Criminals are criminals because they don’t obey laws. Criminals stay criminals because it is a profitable business. They know the system and play the system as their lifestyle. Combine that with a political philosophy that won’t call a spade a spade and you have a formula for anarchy. Radical extremists are the worse. Their minds are filled with delusions of grandeur and a vision of society that only exists in their heads. It matters not if they are ISIS or KKK or Khmer Rouge, they want their vision of society to dominate and everyone to follow their rules. Ironically, they are also 100% against private firearms ownership. So, leave the liberals to their fantasies about controlling crime. In the end, criminals will love it. The same political idiocy has worked so well with controlling drugs, has it not?

    • Rev. M T Katte, DD July 8, 2016, 12:13 pm

NO!! Don’t move to neighboring states that are already overrun with screaming California liberals who think NV, AZ, etc., should be remade in CA’s image. For Heaven’s sake, stay and fight for once. Get ‘Moonbeam’ Brown and his associates out of office and replace them with anyone with traditional American values.

I know that Califonia, may already be completely lost, as it is on the verge of turning into a third world country. But, at least, try to bring it back rather than just dumping more problems on nearby states.

      • Robert July 10, 2016, 2:42 am

You tell ’em. California middle class just will not stand up to those political tyrants who have been cowing them for generations. You can talk to them until the paint starts peeling off the wall and they just won’t do it. They have become the “ruled class”. They move into the Rocky Mountain states and drag all of their crap with them. Californians: please stay in that s***hole and try to fix it yourselves! Quit asking for governmental bailouts. That means that I have to pay a part of it. You all let it get completely F***ed up. Fix it with your own money.

    • Justin July 8, 2016, 8:24 pm

“As does california, so does the rest of the country.”

Not everyone can run and hide for the rest of their life. Some of us stay and fight for our children and children’s childrens’ rights. I wouldn’t be able to look at myself in the mirror if I moved to another state just so *I* can have temporary freedoms.

  • Story Teller July 8, 2016, 10:23 am

    You want em, Moonbeam?
    Come get em.

  • Ralph Solli July 8, 2016, 9:49 am

For those who think that there is any chance at all in winning in court, I would say, don’t hold your breath. The Circuit Court system as well as the Supreme Court of the U.S. have shown little support for gun ownership and the protection of the Second Amendment. Here in Connecticut, the Democrats have passed oppressive, and unconstitutional gun control laws and the courts which are made up of liberal judges have turned away all challenges stating the laws may be unconstitutional but they make people feel safe. Also the lawyers for some of the parents of children killed in Sandy Hook by an evil monster, have sued Bushmaster for selling the weapon that he used. They state that Bushmaster, the distributor, and dealer who sold the weapon (legally to his mother I might add) is responsible because they allowed a weapon that is used by the military to be sold to a civilian. The courts here again allowed the suit to go forward even though gun manufacturers are protected by law from prosecution due to the criminal use of their products. The only chance of reversing this trend is if all gun owners vote these liberals out, but it seems that the majority of Democrat gun owners are still unwilling to join the effort.

    • Ralph July 8, 2016, 12:19 pm

No one was ever killed at Sandyhook, it was all staged to take more of your gun rights away

      • 007 July 10, 2016, 12:06 am

True. Count up all the “false flags,” including 911 and figure out why our own gov’t is setting this country up for complete euthanasia by radical thugs, coming in through the borders. Obumner refuses to call them radical Islamic jihadist’s, because he IS one. All I can say is Molan Labe.

  • Bisley July 8, 2016, 9:44 am

Anyone who believes they are going to find relief from this sort of tyranny in the courts is not living in the real world. The California courts are staffed with the same sort of leftist political hacks as the state legislature — they will rule according to their political ideology, not common sense, common law, or the Constitution.

  • Otto skorzeny July 8, 2016, 9:03 am

I live in CA and I haven’t complied with any of these stupid laws. Just keep what you have had, stash it away and don’t ask don’t tell. Someday there will come a time when you’ll need it!

    • Chris July 8, 2016, 11:37 am

The only problem with that is you’re considered a criminal when you shouldn’t be.. what happens if there’s a fire your house and firefighters or someone accidentally stumble upon your “stash”.. now you get to be a fellon.. I don’t know what the real answer is for you guys and gals out there.. cali is already too far gone lol

  • Shane Brooker July 8, 2016, 8:56 am

Why the hell does this idiot refer to this ar15 rifle as an “assault weapon”… Is he intending on “assaulting” someone?

  • Infidel7.62 July 8, 2016, 8:46 am

If you are going to be in violation anyway you might just as well put the standard mag catch back in.

  • TONY July 8, 2016, 8:43 am

IT IS UP TO LAW FUL GUN OWNERS TO REFUSE THESE LAWS.ITS TIME TO STAND UP AND IF THAT MEANS THEY SHOW UP AT YOUR HOUSE YOU NEED TO DRAW A LINE IN THE SAND.I AM FUCKING SICK OF THIS BULLSHIT. THE REAL WAY TO HANDLE THIS WOULD BE TO PUNISH CRIMINALS WH O HAVE GUNS.FELONS CAUGHT WITH GUNS OR CRIMES WITH THEM SHOULD GET LIFE IN PRISON ETC WE NEED TO QUIT BUYING THIER BULLSHIT YOU DONT NEED LAWS ON LAWFUL GUN OWNERS YOU NEED REAL TUFF LAWS ON THE CRIMINALS.IF EVERYONE STANDS TOGETHER AND REFUSES THESE LAWS WE WILL NOT OBEY

    • 007 July 10, 2016, 12:12 am

We already HAVE LAWS to punish offenders. But the courts are told to stand down. In fact obumner has let 3500+ serious offenders out of jail, previously to 2016. He wants them out here to man his “army” to annihilate the good citizens of this country, so he can achieve “his legacy.” Are you gettin’ it yet?

  • Tripwire July 8, 2016, 8:17 am

I have in the past really enjoyed the movies Damon stared in, NO MORE, It won’t effect his paychecks but he will not earn another dime from me. I don’t find it painful to avoid watching movies made by these hypocrites, they talk out both sides of their mouths and don’t deserve our support.

    • John ODonnell July 8, 2016, 8:40 am

Yup , ESPECIALLY, the ones that use gun violence in that movie to sell it. I have been to one new movie in twenty years, American Sniper. The rest of them can go on deciding what bathroom to use.

    • Charlie Speers July 8, 2016, 9:06 am

Matt Damon is a pos what we should be doing is rounding up these anti American pos and kick them out of this great land, they don’t deserve to be here

      • GlocksRock July 11, 2016, 4:40 am

Add Liam Neeson to your list! He is another Hollywood bigmouth who makes millions starring in shoot-em-up movies, then spouts holier-than-thou when it comes to Americans’ 2A righs. And he isnt even American!! As far as I am concerned, anyone that isnt a citizen of this country should keeps their fly traps shut!

  • Rich July 8, 2016, 7:25 am

Devising one more difficult method to reload is no defiance it is compliance.

  • RetNavet July 8, 2016, 7:21 am

Unlike others I DO NOT respect Matt Damon as an actor or as anything else other than the ambulatory foreskin that he is. I look forward to hospital reports detailing the severe bleeding from his rectum when he is savagely raped anally by an illegal alien who held him down at gun point.

  • Rick July 8, 2016, 7:16 am

I won’t be complying with the new laws

  • Ron Sullivan July 8, 2016, 7:12 am

I do not under stand why people thank a ban on weapons will fix it. THE BAD GUY WILL ALWAYS HAVE A GUN.

    • SammysDad July 8, 2016, 8:50 am

Simple: Liberals are psychologically indoctrinated to believe banning anything will have positive effects. It is an emotional issue to them. No matter the truth and rationale of bad guys having guns while good guys won’t with “bans”, they will consistently believe the ban is good. There is no changing the deep seeded lie that has been drummed into their heads. The answer is to not elect such mentally defective people.

      • Architeuthis July 8, 2016, 1:41 pm

The problem is mentally defective voters. The politicians are already bought and paid for.

    • GunnyChuck July 8, 2016, 8:59 am

Criminals are criminals because they’re criminals. They will ignore these new laws, hence criminals. These laws are solely designed to affect the law abiding citizens.

      • Richard Johnson July 8, 2016, 11:02 am

That’s not true…..if you listen to what D Fagstein said, she told a group of people that if an armed gunman comes into a room full of people and sees that all of them are unarmed he will lay down his gun and turn himself in because that is just human nature! LMFAOROTF!!!!! Next time something happens with a gunman maybe we should send her in, unarmed and take him into custody, what do you think?

        • 007 July 10, 2016, 12:16 am

Heck yaaaaay! But she has to give up that S&W 357 in her purse first.

    • Bisley July 8, 2016, 9:29 am

This is not about public safety, and never has been (except for the fools who believe the propaganda). The people with political power and money who are behind the gun control movement are hard-core socialists, and their goal is to disarm the public so that in the future they can impose a sort of government control on us that people with the means to resist would never tolerate. They don’t have the political strength, so far, to just outlaw private ownership of guns, so they incrementally make it more difficult and expensive, and reduce the classes of guns that can be owned, and the classes of people who can own them — always moving, however slowly, toward their goal.

This has been going on in a politically organized manner since the National Firearms Act of 1934, and they will never give up, since their long-term political goals depend on it. This is not something we can comply with, or try to evade or tolerate. Unless we push back and undo much of what they’ve already done, they’ll eventually get where they want to go.

      • 007 July 10, 2016, 12:20 am

        Exactly. Well said Bisley.

  • Joe July 8, 2016, 6:39 am

Thank GOD I live in a free state for the present.
The best advise I could give to the law abiding CaliCommiFornia gun owners would be to become the best shot you can possibly be.
That, and creativity is the mother of necessity.

  • Bill Jeffs July 8, 2016, 6:17 am

As a “new” resident, returning after leaving this beautiful state 15 years ago due to my job, I left most of my guns, including my AR15’s bought legally in another state, with a friend. The guns I did bring with me are now illegal. I won’t be complying with the new laws and will travel to other states to purchase my ammunition and other “illegal” items. These fools in Sacramento don’t know what “black market’s” they’ve created….

    • David Telliho July 8, 2016, 7:13 am

Over the yr. I`ve come to strongly suspect the governments pass laws creating black markets on purpose. So they can make some cash on the side. We give high moral credits to our lawmakers, without proof that they have any morals. Then we`re shocked when we see just a tiny bit of what they`re really like. Stand firm, you guys in Calif. ,never give in. The ‘Battle of Athens’, may be revisited. I hope not. The gun grabbers who would make us subjects, don`t care what it takes. Now, consider, Moonbeam,&fellow thugs, knew their scheme would be met with resistance. How far, in this environment of political correctness, are we willing to go ? Wait until the house to house searches start? That`s coming. Perhaps send a clear message of the consequences ? That oughta work well. How about, just say NO ! We will not comply. I stand with you. It`s a matter of time before this goes national. Obama`s dream. I will not comply.

  • bill July 8, 2016, 5:21 am

the only way to beat these Nazis is at the ballot box. there are 5 statewide offices that are controlled by the progressive/socialists. they are governor, lt. governor, 2 federal senators and the attorney general. these 5 can be removed from office at their next election cycle as long as every firearm owner and sportsmen votes en banc for one and only on candidate for each office. a word to all the fishermen and off roaders if these anti constitution, anti bill of rights fascists win this war on a RIGHT enumerated in the constitution think what they will do to fishing and off roading. they already restrict off roading to specific areas so that when they are ready they can come in and show the “damage” that off roading has done and say it is time to ban it. green law is not your friend!

    • Kyle July 8, 2016, 8:39 am

No, they can no longer be beaten at the ballot box. They are too entrenched. They’ve rigged the game. Conservatives are gerrymandered into irrelevancy in this state.

    • Gus July 8, 2016, 10:22 am

Kyle is correct, \”they\’re too entrenched\” (Libertards).
Letters, petitions and elections are all temporary. Article 5 of the Constitution (Convention of the States) is our only hope. This was THE way Prohibition was repealed in 1933. • DaveP326 July 8, 2016, 4:47 am

I respect Matt Damon as an actor, and he is certainly entitled to his opinion about Gun control laws. If I were him, I wouldn’t be so quick to hold up Australia as a shining example of gun control laws; in fact, I would definitely keep THAT opinion to myself. Oh, yes, gun owners were forced to surrender their weapons – in the name of safety, of course, but since criminals don’t obey the laws prohibiting murder, rape, robbery, etc., I really don’t think they will obey gun control confiscation laws, either. The murder rate may have dropped, but since honest, law abiding Australian gun owners obeyed the law and surrendered their arms, they have been rendered defenseless and have become the victims of those “other” violent felonies – the number of rapes, robberies and assault has risen in double-digit percentage points. So, I would be very much more interested in hearing the feelings of the gun owners of Australia than I would be to hear Matt Damon’s bleeding heart liberal opinion. As for the gun owners in California who will be harmed by Gov. Moonbeam’s idiotic new gun laws, I hope there is MASSIVE civil disobedience to those unconstitutional laws. In fact, I hope there is massive civil disobedience in every locale where the gun laws are so ridiculous. Don’t ban the guns – deal with the people who use guns unlawfully, and leave the rest of us the hell alone! WE are not the problem.

    • Pete July 8, 2016, 8:53 am

I agree with you 200% guns don’t kill people, people kill people either with a gun, a knife, or a bat murder is murder.
Leave us responsible gun owners alone and go after those that want to break the law not those that have defended the constitution and our nation

    • Zapbone July 8, 2016, 10:48 am

The only thing you got wrong is the murder rate in Australia since the confiscation. It has increased dramatically.

    • JoeUSooner July 8, 2016, 1:24 pm

True… in the two decades after Australia’s (and England’s) gun confiscation, it is true that murders did indeed drop… but only by a very tiny annual percentage (a statistically irrelevant number). But every other classification of violent crime (rape, armed robbery, armed assault, burglary, etc) more than quadrupled! While their citizens are SLIGHTLY less likely to be murdered, every single man, woman and child is four times MORE likely to be victimized by violence. NOT AN ACCEPTABLE “TRADE-OFF”
