Cody Wilson Crushes Interviewer’s Ignorant Questions on Downloadable Guns

2nd Amendment – R2KBA Authors S.H. Blannelberry This Week

Birdbrains in media, in Congress and in Hollywood don’t get it. Brainwashed into believing that Big Brother is always benevolent and always there to keep them safe they can’t even begin to fathom why downloadable guns are good for a free people living in a constitutional republic.

Duh! It’s because “ARs are kryptonite to tyranny,” as GunsAmerica contributor Clay Martin likes to say. You can also go with the old, “Armed men are citizens; unarmed men are subjects.”

Point being, incremental infringement on one’s basic right to self-defense and personal autonomy is a road that leads to the end of liberty. Starting with the National Firearms Act of 1934, through the Gun Control Act of 1968 to the now expired Clinton-Era ban on so-called “assault rifles,” not to mention the countless unconstitutional state laws (e.g. NY SAFE Act) that have been enacted Post-Sandy Hook, government has shown that it won’t stop coming after our 2A rights.

Cody Wilson, the founder of Defense Distributed (DD), is keenly aware of this reality. It’s why he wants to democratize access to firearm blueprints. To preserve liberty, and to punch back at the ruling class that would like nothing more than to see us all turned into subjects. Wilson touched on this during several media interviews this week.

“You think that’s good for the safety of Americans. You think that’s good for American families. You think that’s good for American streets,” CBS News correspondent Tony Dokoupil asked Wilson.

“Yeah, yeah,” Wilson said, adding that it’s “unquestionably” good for the future.

“I think access to the firearm is a fundamental human dignity. It’s a fundamental human right,” Wilson said.

Dokoupil then asked what everyone’s been asking Wilson, “When somebody downloads a gun from your website with your blueprints and kills somebody with it, how are you going to feel personally?”

“I don’t believe that I provide you with anything other than the general knowledge of what an AR-15 is,” Wilson responded.

Wonder if Dokoupil believes Ford Motor Company should be asked about that drunk driver in San Diego that killed a motorcyclist with his F-250 back in February? Because if we’re putting the focus on hardware instead of corrupted software, we need a full-scale inquisition of the automobile industry.

Bringing up DD’s Ghost Gunner, the CNC milling machine that completes 80 percent lowers, Dokoupil also asked, “What makes you comfortable with a world where people can pump out guns in their garage any time they want to?”

Wilson’s response was epic!

“What’s going to make me comfortable… is when people stop coming into this office and acting like there’s a debate about it. The debate is over,” Wilson said, adding, “The guns are downloadable. The files are in the public domain. You cannot take them back. You can adjust your politics to this reality. You will not ask me to adjust mine.”

(Mic drop!)

Of course Wilson’s right. What Dokoupil clearly doesn’t understand is that Wilson’s case is really about free speech, not about guns. Remember, he is sharing files and selling milling machines — not transferring firearms! Wilson’s argument, in part, is that the government cannot prevent him from sharing this already readily available, unclassified information online. Which it can’t!

But even if one wants to take Dokoupil’s question seriously, one just needs to consult the Fifth Circuit which explicitly explained that home gunsmithing whether it be 3-D printed guns or 80 percent lowers “is legal for United States citizens and will remain legal for United States citizens regardless of the outcome of this case.”

Memo to Dokoupil: We’ve always lived in a country where people could make guns in their garage!!!

On Tuesday a federal judge in Seattle granted a temporary nationwide injunction preventing DD from sharing its files online. While this legal holdup is doomed to fail what it does create is a small window where lawmakers can rally to ban 3-D printed guns. Speaking of which, several New England Congressman introduced legislation this week to prohibit the manufacture or possession of 3-D printed guns. Making matters worse is that POTUS seems to be on board with the idea:

We’ll see what comes of that effort.

Wilson’s fight is fundamentally about restoring the balance of power between the people and government. It should come as a surprise to absolutely no one but especially any journalist worth their salt (what happened to speaking truth to power?) why many of our elected officials are losing their shit over this case. Because gun control is officially dead. And along with it, the cabal’s ability to subjugate the masses.

I could, right here and right now, publish no less than 7 internet sites along with the hard catalogs which they will mail to anyone who wants on their mailing list, that include “AR-15 80% lower kit with jig and drill bits” for eighty bucks “Delivered direct to your door”. So, BFG!! You will still need the lower receiver “guts”, everything but the polymer housing, which makes an AR-15 operable. You will need a stock, you will need a …… Oh yeah, a BARREL!! What good is an “assault rifle” without a barrel?? And, you still need the “Knowledge” to mill, drill, tweak, and install each one of the needed parts, for lack of a better term, to “factory specs.” BEFORE you can slide a round into the chamber and squeeze the trigger to ensure that the “kit” gun will properly fire and cycle and not blow up in your FACE!!

As “Frank S” mentioned, these “blueprints” are DOWNLOADABLE, and NOT PRINTABLE as easily as the poli-krooks and the medi-krooks are trying to make it sound. In fact, if you will follow a few statistics, there will be an increase in the sale of these laser printers and milling machines in the near future until such time as the “politburo” figures out a way to stop the procedure. That should make someone a few bucks in retail sales until the gun cops shut down those sales like they have attempted to do many other times. Some have succeeded, some have failed, but all have lined someone’s pockets with profits to one level or another before they had to close the doors.

I have to admire Cody Wilson’s chutzpah though, it isn’t every young man who will stand nose to nose with the media, and probably many others higher up in the money food chain, in his quest to see that his and all of our 1st and 2nd rights are left intact. I am volunteering here and now to give that young man any help or volunteer service I can provide within my means. I am retired and it would do me good to get back to helping someone else with a focus.

There have been too many of us who have sat on our fat asses for long enough waiting for “someone else” to take care of the problems …… many are the same slobs who toss garbage out of their vehicle windows assuming there will be some kind of “Fairy Garbage Man” who will come by “later” and pick up after their lazy asses!!

Whatever happened to personal PRIDE in ourselves, our family status, and our COUNTRY?? Is this how we should react [or, more likely NOT react] to a government, set in place by THE VOTERS, trying to overthrow OUR rights as free American people?? Jeez people, pull your heads out of the sand long enough to see what these thieves are trying to do to our country!! They want it ALL, and they will do ANYTHING to get it ALL! But, at the end of the day, WE put them IN office and WE can take them OUT of office ……. IF we are pushed far enough. The question is …… How far is ENOUGH?? ….. And how late is TOO LATE??

    ‘Nuff said ……

The complete ignorance of the panel of journalists at CBS is astounding. They’re basically claiming that you can print an undetectable AR-15 when all you can really print is the lower. The rest of it is steel and the lower contains steel parts – it is nowhere near undetectable.

As far as untraceable, there are any number of 80% lowers available on the internet for sale that are just as untraceable, and anyone can stipple out a serial number with a center punch (available at SHOCK! any hardware store) making virtually any firearm untraceable.

Most of the folks who want gun control just don’t want their kids or other people’s kids killed by a crazy person on a suicide mission. Solve that problem to everybody’s –and I mean everybody except the crazy persons–and you’ll be a national hero.
As to putting “Assault weapons” in quotes; that makes it sound like it’s made up. Every knowledgeable gun owner knows that
the Germans invented Assault Weapons when they made the Sturmgewehr 44 with a 7.92 X 33mm Kurtz in 1944. Sturmgewehr translates as Assault rifle.

    • Mike V August 5, 2018, 8:10 pm

In this context it is made up, not to many STG 44s in circulation…

  • Lloyd Dumas August 3, 2018, 4:33 pm

Guess I’m just too far behind cause if I had my way I would ban all plastic guns, never liked them never will, if it ant all steel I want nothing to do with it.

    • Paul August 3, 2018, 6:16 pm

Yes, you are very far behind. I own and shoot two “polymer” guns (not 3D made plastic guns). They’re light, accurate, easy to carry and really fun to shoot. I also have a S&W Airweight revolver with an aluminum alloy frame (not steel) that I think is the best small revolver made. But you can feel free to live in the past, bury your head in the sand. The tech for new gun materials is not going away even if you choose to ignore it. Oh … don’t forget to rewind your VCR tape … Blockbuster hates that.

    • Mike V August 4, 2018, 9:16 am

      Tell me you’re joking.

I like your last name better when you add the second s.

      • BluNos August 4, 2018, 11:45 am

Damn! You beat me to it.

  • Nate August 3, 2018, 2:52 pm

“American Gun Control” on a tomb stone! I love it!

  • Steve August 3, 2018, 1:04 pm

I don’t think he “crushed it”. Nobody is correctly pointing out the the problems with media assumptions.
    1) Most of the 3D printed guns are single shot. Who is going to commit an armed robbery knowing they have only 1 shot?
    2) Most of the all plastic, undetectable guns are firing .22lr and they are very large. Not good for concealment and not good stopping power.
    3) I did see a few guns in larger calibers but these all have metal barrel inserts so these will set off metal detectors.
    4) There is no such thing as a 3D printed AR. The lower can be plastic but everything else is still metal
    5) You actually have to have skills or an education to build one of these guns and the average thug doing strong arm robbery really does not classify.

    • BluNos August 4, 2018, 11:48 am

Bingo! Folks we have a winner.

      • Jake August 4, 2018, 3:24 pm

We are like a year away from 3D printers that use metals being easily available. The plastics are just prototypping tools. Think rapid and uncontrollable innovation/s made by opening firearms and firearm development to not just a new class of people but every class of people…. that is the story here… add on to that many high dollar poly blend material is good for many (like hundreds) 12ga rounds, trust me.

Someone should ask that reporter if he is comfortable with being so obviously biased and still calling himself a journalist. I thought journalists were supposed to report facts not take a side in the story. Once you take a side your an op-ed reporter. How would he feel if his 1A rights were being attacked? How would he respond?

    • Boss August 4, 2018, 5:34 pm

His 1A rights are being attacked, and he responded badly!

  • John M Denney August 3, 2018, 9:55 am

I’m glad there are still people like Cody Wilson that will stand up for what he believes. There are to many people that just sit back and say who cares because I don’t want one. The first and second amendments have been under attack for a long time. The trouble is that no matter how anything plays out these people will never be happy and always want everyone’s rights restricted. We fought this battle in 1776 and it looks like we may have to fight it again.

  • Mac August 3, 2018, 8:59 am

I think we’re way ahead of things. I for one…and I believe many others of they’ll admit it…aren’t even sure how these 3D plastic guns (will or won’t) work…how they accurately or inaccurately function and hold up under extreme heat and pressures of ammo…how are they loaded and re-loaded to fire more than one round, etc, etc, etc…? Have heard many speculations but no hard and knowledable facts…FACTS…from actual testing. Let’s get it out there. Seems to be a lot of fear-mongering, scare-tactics and mis-information out there…mostly from/by politicians and anti-gunners…about something we hardly need to fear for all intents and purposes.

    • deanbob August 3, 2018, 3:53 pm

I\’ve seen Cody fire one that he made. While currently(who know how plastic will change) I\’d personally go with an 80% complete metal kit, the option is available.

  • Jay August 3, 2018, 8:42 am

The masses like to believe what they are told instead of searching for the facts! It’s exactly what the media and anti-gunners do and count on to bring in the controversy and division we see today! I’m telling you folks”The tree of Liberty” is getting mighty dry!

  • Frank S. August 3, 2018, 7:16 am

#D PLASTIC guns might be going too far, but most of the blueprints on Cody Wilson’s site ARE NOT “printable” — they require some machining skills to actually build. Not just anyone can do it! I can find plans for an atomic bomb on-line with some searching, but can’t build one because I can’t get pure enough radioactive material to do it, but the plans are out there if you search hard enough. How many on this site can actually build a gun if they had to from scratch? I’m sure there are quite a few reading this because of the interest in the topic, but that’s a different story. The belief is these guns are easy for anyone to make, or even 3d print a working gun. It just ain’t so, but the media is pushing that belief rather than the more obvious fact that few in the public can actually make a safe and reliable gun even with these plans and jigs. 80% receivers are a bit different, but few even make those.

  • ro August 2, 2018, 12:05 pm

Let us NOT get ahead of ourselves… the problem is that the States already demonstrated the “probability” of prevailing on the merits, and the “probability” of irreparable injury without injunctive relief in this case.

This means that the court has already sided with them on the evidence provided to this date.

This is now an uphill battle for 1st and 2nd amendments.
