Terry Morgan, a Dallas homeowner, found himself in the midst of a shootout Saturday morning after several armed robbers attempted to break into his residence.
Morgan was alerted by the sound of the burglars using crowbars to jar open the front door. He checked his security monitor and upon seeing the small crew quickly armed himself.
“I immediately jumped up, and grabbed my weapon, and came here and aimed my weapon towards the door because I thought they were on their way in,” Morgan told Fox 4 News.
Morgan looked through his front window and made a noise to presumably scare away the crew. Instead of running away, at least one of the suspects began firing his weapon.
“So they started to shoot, BOOM! They were shooting as they were retreating to a vehicle that was waiting six feet from my driveway,” he said.
Morgan shot back to fend off the intruders.
“I put it through the bar and I fired. BOOM! So then he started to return fire,” he said.

The suspects jumped into a car and drove away, according to Morgan. He said he saw around five people flee in the car, but the security camera only caught three on film.
“I don’t wan to shoot anyone’s kid. What are you doing riding at 4:30 in the morning, tyring to break into somebody’s house. You are going to get killed,” he said.
Morgan wishes that they would really think about the potential repercussions of their actions.
“Had you killed me, or I killed you, one of our families would’ve changed. And it would’ve taken a long time for everybody to get back to normal,” he said.
“Over here, we have nothing. You’re taking from people who have nothing,” he continued. “We’ll fight for everything, every last inch. Find something better, educate yourselves, get something you can do better than breaking into people’s homes, because you will be killed.”
Morgan’s 100 percent correct. If these burglars don’t reconsider their life choices they are either going to wind up dead or in jail.
I will always support the home owner but just be careful because all it takes is one twisted juror who thinks he is a over night lawyer & your now in jail with these scumbags! Hold ur ground inside ur home, designate someone to make the 911 call if this ever happens while u hold your kill zone with a good weapon! Dont give the court the opportunity to determine ur fate! Theives beware have ur parents get u some life insurance because u wont make it out!
100% correct I agree a mans home is his castle. If more people acted the way Terry Morgan acted there would be a lot less crime. Terry you have my support !
The problem with this guy’s actions is he went outside and blindly fired his shotgun. Had he actually killed one of the scumbag, perps, he would have more than likely been prosecuted for manslaughter or murder. Right after getting his weapon, he should have called 911. Had they broke into his home he would have been within his right to have killed them.
Please people, if you own a gun, be smart about it.
While we don’t condone stealing from another, it pisses me off more when this scumbags attempt to or succeed in taking from those that work the hardest, have the least and cannot afford to replace stuff. If one is convinced he must steal, be a real man with some real thinking skills and more, and take something down that will be well worth while, if you get away with it then maybe your thieving will be a one time thing. Oh wait those types of places have armed guards and great security and more, and your liable to end up like swiss cheese proving your not a man but a bully and coward with no brains.

Distilled down, these criminals did not have parents that cared about them and made them get an education.
The more that get shot, the less there will be that go to jail and cost tax payers money. This is Darwinism at its finest. Some dumb choices WILL be your demise. Get smart and survive. Depend on armed robbery for your occupation…..and your chances of surviving another day…..are diminishing rapidly in todays gun buyers-market.
