The Army is always looking for of a few good men, which is why it’s so surprising that it’s giving this soldier, a decorated Green Beret, the boot for doing what many of us would do if we found ourselves in a similar situation.

Even as the U.S. military denies reports that American troops were told to ignore Afghan child abusers, an 11-year Green Beret who was ordered discharged after he confronted an alleged rapist was informed Tuesday that the Army has denied his appeal.
Sgt. 1st Class Charles Martland earlier this year was ordered discharged by Nov. 1. He has been fighting to stay in, but in an initial decision, the U.S. Army Human Resources Command told Martland that his appeal “does not meet the criteria” for an appeal.
“Consequently, your request for an appeal and continued service is disapproved,” the office wrote in a memo to Martland…
As first reported by Fox News, while deployed to Kunduz Province, Afghanistan, Martland and his team leader confronted a local police commander in 2011 accused of raping an Afghan boy and beating his mother. When the man laughed off the incident, they shoved him to the ground.
Martland and his team leader were later removed from the base, and eventually sent home from Afghanistan. The U.S. Army has not confirmed the specifics of Martland’s separation from service citing privacy reasons, but a “memorandum of reprimand” from October 2011 obtained by Fox News makes clear that Martland was criticized by the brass for his intervention after the alleged rape. Asked for comment Tuesday on the latest decision memo, an Army spokesman reiterated, “the U.S. Army is unable to confirm the specifics of his separation due to the Privacy Act.”

Social engineering has ruined the command structure at the Pentagon, and this is a perfect example. Too many squeamish people in the military lead to this kind of miscarriage of justice. Since the Obama administration got their hands on the Pentagon they turned it into a social welfare club where minorities of every kind are considered first before the duty of our armed forces which is defending the nation and the people from threats like this reprehensible Afghan cop and worse. We are no longer dealing with the principles of the true purpose of what a military organization is supposed to be concerned with, and now civilians in theater have more rights than soldiers, even when the behavior of those civilians is as this less than human Afghan police official. The fact he raped a young boy was bad enough, but to laugh in the face of those who did something to stop him reveals the true evil in this individual, and now, thanks to our screwed up command structure, he gets away with his crimes and the men who stepped up to stop him get court martialed and discharged for their conduct.
The injustice of all of this is appalling. This is not only outrageous, but should be a wake up call to the President that something needs to be done about all of these social side issues that take away from force readiness, not to mention the morale breaking impact this situation has on the less than 2% of the population who puts on a uniform and takes their place to defend the rest of us at risk of life and limb. Seeing things like this makes me wonder why anyone would volunteer to serve under the current shameful conditions our military personnel face everyday.
At a time when force readiness is at an all time low, did the punishment of these men fit their crime – if you can call it a crime? The JAG should reinstate these men – they stood up to an evil bully, and got court martialed for it.
My Grandfather served in the Air Corps in Europe in WW I – both of my parents served in the Army in the Korean War and I served in Vietnam and this episode is one that brings shame on the entire Army system of justice.

I am a 100% disabled Army veteran from the first Gulf War, I am also retired law enforcement having spent a total of 24 years in that field both while in the Army and my post military career. I have seen some rather horrible atrocities in that time, people blown up, people bounced around inside of cars where the passenger had a hole in the top of his head about the size of a .45 caliber bullet. Needless to say that this individual did not survive his wounds. I have dealt with overdoses, alleged rapes, rapes of not only adult women but young women and girls. I have in my final year as a police officer and assistant chief of police had handled not one, but at least 6 child molestation cases. My final years wee spent as a corrections officer under Florida’s rules at the time was considered a licensed peace officer. At the prisons I worked you see things most normal folks would be horrified to witness.
What SFC Martland did should not be held against him….period. He and his team leader were scape goats for an administration that labels we veterans as right wing extremist terrorists! REALLY….I though we served our country for the greater good of the American people? Since when did stopping an child rapist serve to create a means for this Muslim influence administration to treat this highly decorated Green Beret as the bad guy? I enlisted way back in 1975, was finally “retired” after the scud missel hit the barracks of my sister Army Reserve unit I was with at the time. I was just a couple years shy of getting my full twenty years, but never the less I was proud to do what I did for as long as I did. I would do it again….maybe. If being treated as a piece of scum for stopping an even greater piece of scum then I want no part of our current military machine. Most of the top brass was given the boot for thinking for themselves. Obama and his cronies said….wait just a minute there….you work for ME, you WILL follow my orders or you will be relieved of command and booted out. Most of these old time Generals, Admirals, decided to retire before they were forced to do things or oder things to be done that goes against there conscience. Now we have a bunch of brain dead Admirals, Generals, and other staff officer that foloe BO’s orders without question. I’m gonna stop here before I blow a gasket and REALLY say what is on my mind. OK, so when is anyone going to stand up and say something that is heard around the world, our military is one of the greatest fighting machines on this planet. We have respect and honor among ourselves and we are called to duty to protect our freedom and our way of life in this country. We are called to duty to help other countries to help rid them of the violence and injustice that are put upon their people. Sgt. Martland you did what any other self respecting soldier would do! I am an Air Force veteran and I take exception to the way our military has caved under our “so called” Commander-in-Chief. The top brass are leaving by the dozens because of the lack of respect they have for Obama. Obama has weakened our military due to the disdain he has for our comrades in arms. Obama is a Muslim and will support Muslim causes anyway he can. Sgt. 1st Class Charles Martland is another example of the way our military, under Obama, is failing to support our tried and true heros. Maybe Obama has some young boys hidden in the White House. Afterall, have we ever heard of or seen any woman he has ever dated?
