European American Armory (EAA) imports several difference types and brands of guns and they have been a strong presence in the market for several years now. This MP161 is from Baikal, which is a very nice line of guns from Russia. The thing I find most interesting about this is its difference from the rest of the Baikal guns I have seen. Generally I think of Baikal as being very traditional, “brown” guns, and as fan of their side by side shotguns, some very nice ones at that.

So when I saw this MP 161, which is essentially a high end polymer .22 semi-auto, I was very surprised. Heather, the girl in the video here, clearly knows nothing about this firearm so I will try to fill in some holes. Josh was clearly too distracted to ask a coherent question.

In the marketing materials for the gun, it says it is a glass bedded and has an accurized barrel. It also has a stock that is adjustable for length of pull and height of the cheekpiece. Methinks Heather was not given the background on the gun and that it is an entry level competition gun. It could be that at it’s price point the best sales pitch is as a plinker, but we are going to try to get one of these guns in for review because I think it could be that it was meant for the competition market as well. EAA brings in guns that are a great value and you always get a lot of gun for your money.
