Everytown on NRA anti-Bloomberg ad: ‘Petty personal politics’

Everytown for Gun Safety fired back at the National Rifle Association, which launched an anti-Bloomberg campaign on Tuesday, accusing the gun lobby of resorting to “petty personal politics.”

Shannon Watts, the founder of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, which along with Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns makes up Everytown, said the NRA should focus on solutions to gun violence rather than attacking the former New York City mayor.

“While the gun lobby attempts to distract voters with petty personal politics, Americans know that this isn’t about any one person,” said Watts in a statement obtained by GunsAmerica. “This is about the 86 Americans who are killed every day by gun violence, it’s about the more than 2 million Americans who have joined Everytown to work together put an end to the bloodshed, and it’s about the more than 90% of Americans, including 92% of gun owners, who support common sense public safety measures that will save lives. That’s who the NRA leadership should meet.”

The launch of the “Meet the Real Michael Bloomberg” campaign is designed to expose the billionaire business magnate’s “hypocrisy, arrogance and desire to tell the American people how to live their lives,” according to an NRA press release.

The campaign started with a video called “Insult” (see video above) that criticized Bloomberg’s “nanny state” policies, including his attempt to ban sodas, snack foods and firearms. The NRA plans to air the 30 second ad in various markets around the country.

“Michael Bloomberg has declared war on the NRA and our five million members. We will not sit back and let him use his billions of dollars to impose his radical anti-freedom agenda on the American people,” said Chris W. Cox, Executive Director of the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action.

“Our effort will expose Bloomberg as an arrogant hypocrite who thinks he knows best how people should live their lives,” added Cox.

” it’s about the more than 90% of Americans, including 92% of gun owners, who support common sense public safety measures that will save lives.” Problem is, I still haven’t seen a situation where “public saftey” and “common sense” have ever intersected…

Hey, rabrooks, why don’t we invite Shannon Watts to have a dialogue with say you and me and those “92% of gun owners who support common sense…” Wanna bet you and I outnumber the 92% attending?
Liars figure and figures lie. Gun grabbers are both.

As far as I know, George Soros has never run for office, yet he had the financial power to destroy foreign national ECONOMIES, and Bloomie has a whole lot more money than Soros.
When people with that kind of wealth set out to rake us over, we have to pull out all the stops to thwart them.

Must be an effective ad if it has the Astroturf Moms in such a tizzy.
