New for 2016, Franklin Armory has two unique offerings bound to turn heads. First and foremost, they have a new rifle named the M4-SBR-M. The M stands for militia and I have a hard time arguing that it isn’t one of the best rifles on the market for the modern-day militiaman.

Chambered in 7.62×51 and rocking a pined 14.5-inch barrel, that Militia model is a rifle built for fighting. Sparing all the nonsense that follows the tactical market, this gun is a bare-bones fighting rifle chambered in the fight stopping 7.62×51. The rifle is well equipped right out of the box.

The Militia model comes stock with a Magpul CTR stock and an Ergo pistol grip. The upper uses a full-length, free-float rail and has plenty of space for mounting accessories or rail sections if the standard positions aren’t enough.

Despite the name, it isn't technically an SBR.

The barrel is 14.5 inches long, and the break is pinned in place, which brings it to the legal limit.

I’ve got to say this rifle surprised me. I expected it to be heavy and unwieldy, but it is well balanced and compact enough to truly be a great tool. It is available now and retails for $2,600.

The new Binary Trigger

The next new offering from Franklin Armory, the Binary Firing System, isn’t actually new for 2016 but is now picking up steam and readily available via their web store. If you aren’t familiar with the Binary Firing System, it is an NFA approved trigger pack that allows the shooter to fire two bullets with every trigger pull. One on the pull, another on the release.

[full_width]

Bang-bang. And if you don't want to fire that second shot, just hold the trigger back and engage the safety.

Bang-bang. And if you don’t want to fire that second shot, just hold the trigger back and engage the safety.

[/full_width]

So how do they get away with this? Simple. The Trigger pack works as a three position fire control group. It has safe, fire and (for its third position) Binary. By firing one shot as the trigger is depressed and then a second as the trigger is released, the binary mode drastically increases your rate of fire and instantly increases the amount of joy you will get as you pull the trigger.

These trigger packs are available now at a price point of $399.00. To ensure the best result, you can even send your lower to Franklin Armory for installation (at a total price of $524.98). Both of these offerings from Franklin Armory are exciting and we hope to bring you a full review on both products in the following months.

Sounds shit. To avoid the second shot make sure you hold the trigger to the rear before you engage the safety? Half of Americans struggle with basic safety never mind adding that to the mix.

  • Lou November 21, 2016, 10:13 am

I just had an epiphany, How about a trigger that fires when released?? – This will take the flinch
out of shooting and make each shot more accurate – Think about that!

    • Michael Z. Williamson May 3, 2017, 1:19 am

They’ve had those for trap shotguns for decades.

    • Chris Deckard March 22, 2018, 9:37 pm

I did it with the AK\’s in 1996-97 and didn\’t get my patent until 2005. It\’s a full on utility patent #6,966,138. I made the little attachments out of .031 sheet metal and slid them right on to the trigger with the tab under the pivot-able foot of the safety sear in order to increase the gap between the hammer engaging notch of the trigger sear and the engaging notch of the safety sear (BECAUSE FILING IS ILLEGAL!!). You could also put a small spot weld on the underneath side of the foot for a more permanent application. I liked the attachment better… ez on , ez off , no disassembly required with practice. Just make it where the hammer passes through the increased gap and onward to the bolts\’ firing pin upon release of the trigger. I was going to sell the attachments for $20 each but the cost of the product liability insurance I needed was over my head. I\’m just a blue-collar machinist. Friends tell me AR\’s are similar? ATF said …\”one projectile upon pull and one projectile upon release was not Class-III NFA (at that time). I am glad to see my idea is not going to waste. Your welcome! 🙂

What is so sickening is that this country of gun owners are so F..Ckn brain washed and afraid of the anti-gun politicians , that they act like sheep that have been castrated. If a anti-gun person read the posts that are here, they know they are winning and have you sheep scared. You negative people really do not need to own a gun of any type. I can bet you sheep do not have membership with any pro-gun organization or really have the guts to try and stop the democrats that want to disarm the population to further their agenda. Look around the world at various country’s, The sheep got disarmed and now the criminal element have control and the people can not do anything. We as gun owners should stop bashing companies that produce firearms or firearm accessories that they think we may be interested in. life is simple…..Only buy what you are interested in or want. If I had the money, I would buy one of there triggers and go enjoy my day at the range, especially since I do know how to properly Handel a live firearm. Have a great day and GOD bless us all.

  • Boba Fett February 10, 2016, 12:31 am

Let’s see how many d-bags write letters to the ATF asking for permission to buy that binary trigger.

  • dh February 9, 2016, 5:48 pm

I can see a foot leg or something even more important being shot off with this trick trigger, and that’s what it is.If anyone thinks it’s not just take it to the range and shoot it then hand it to your friend tell him to be sure the weapon is always down range let him fire it then watch his face when it fires the second time

    • Boba Fett February 10, 2016, 12:35 am

Better yet, why don’t you just explain to your friend how the freakin’ trigger works before handing it to him. Nobody gets hurt, problem solved.

    • Michael Z. Williamson May 3, 2017, 1:21 am

What about eyes? It’s always about shooting an eye out. RME

    • Xam February 7, 2018, 5:41 pm

      Hi,

This is called a “binary trigger”. Also, what you suggest is dangerous and unsafe. Why would anything get “blown off” ?

  • Mike seller February 6, 2016, 6:59 pm

Very dangerous trigger set up and asking for serious trouble or possibly a murder.

    • James McCormick March 31, 2016, 10:27 pm

First, murder is something people do not guns. If you’re implying an accident that’s not murder it is careless handling of a weapon. Yes, giving this type of trigger system to an unsuspecting person and thinking it’s going to be funny when they find out what happens, well that is just pure ignorance. I don’t believe any responsible gun owner would even think such a thing, and an informed person with safe weapon handling practices isn’t going to endanger themselves or another by pulling the trigger and aiming it in another direction before releasing it. Come on, get real, be safe and think Right!

      • C.E.Y. May 25, 2016, 12:06 am

        Hello,

I agree with James McCormick, this trigger is not for people who want to joke around! It is just as safe as any other trigger in the hands of a responsible gun owner. If you want to pull a joke on your friends just do it without using a gun. We already have too many anti-gun people salivating every time someone uses a gun in a crime or shooting spree. Let’s not give them any more ammo to use against us. I would suggest only buying this trigger if you are fully aware of the manner in which it operates and use maximum safety measures when firing with this trigger in your gun.

    • JP2336 December 10, 2017, 10:50 pm

You’re a clueless frigging idiot. Thankfully you’re one of those we won’t have to worry about being shot by with a simple mechanical device whereby the safety has to be rotated to the 3rd position. The world is a safer place.

  • JLA February 6, 2016, 7:13 am

Seriously guys? You don’t like it so anyone who does is automatically a ‘Tactical Timmy’?! It’s for fun. It doesn’t need to have a use! You guys sound like a bunch of anti-gun nitwits!

  • Steve February 5, 2016, 5:12 pm

This type of trigger is what trap shooters with a bad flinch have been using for many years. They are called “release” triggers. Available in release-release, pull-release, release-pull. These equipped trap guns must be labeled as such at any gun club. If someone picks up your gun by mistake, or you let someone try it out, it is a accident waiting to happen. Even for the owners of these types of triggers, a lot of practice is needed for familiarization.

  • Dan Bailey February 5, 2016, 3:08 pm

Sounds like an accident waiting to happen

    • pissed off veteran February 10, 2017, 5:52 am

I have an old letter from long ago written by an ATF agent answering the question about the legality on these devices. He and he said he asked several of his peer if this is legal. Answer absolutely yes. Law says nothing about firing on release of trigger just that the weapon only fires one time on each trigger PULL! No I won’t publish it here or anywhere. First of all I’m not sure I can even find it. I’m working on a system for my hand gun like this. Only no switch, Just safety on off. Always double tap when I finish. If you need only one shot on my system, pull the trigger and hold it until you using other hand or thumb engage the safety. That will dcock and make the gun safe. Not answering any questions either.

  • bob h February 5, 2016, 1:17 pm

I see no use whatsoever for this product. All the Tactical Timmys oohing and ahhhhing, “Boy oh boy, just think how fast I could double tap a bad guy with this!”, will almost certainly-
    A) never be in a position to shoot a “bad guy” let alone double tap him and
    B) be better served by spending that $400 on ammo and learn trigger control.

    • Fred Wilmer February 6, 2016, 11:05 am

I hope you are correct and never have to draw up on a bad guy. Myself , I practice the triple shot every time I practice. Two to the large box and one to the falling small box. I can agree with you on hoping I never Have too draw up , but I will be ready at the time that I do.

    • Rob M March 4, 2016, 1:50 pm

bob h, people lie you crack me up. If you don’t like it, move on to the next booth! Obviously there are the ones that do like it, for whatever reason. Not everyone gets up and decides if they are going to go “play 18” with the boys or get your self defense shooting in by hitting the range, going through a couple of mags and you are now Rambo. I have 7 different guns each offering different options that you would probably sniff your nose to and have whatsoever no use for them either. But you know what, I spent eight years in the service, a year in the desert, I make my own damn money, so you go spend yours on what you want, and I’ll spend mine on what I want. I don’t give a shit what you are buying, why you care what we are? Just saying.

    • Michael Z. Williamson May 3, 2017, 1:23 am

And a single shot. That way they can’t make any mistakes. :-/

  • borg February 5, 2016, 12:47 am

This trigger has a practical use against a group of thugs or terrorists or to come to the aid of a police officer

    • Joe February 7, 2016, 12:24 am

In all honesty, a gun, any kind with any trigger is useful in those situations. However, this trigger set up is useful in creating horrible situations where shooters need to retrain their brains to not release the trigger, which is so deeply ingrained in our heads, I fear the task may be a tall one if the pressure is ever on. The mind reverts back to its simplest, most readily available instinct, and I fear this set up will rarely be that for many, many shooters.

      • James McCormick March 31, 2016, 10:33 pm

I don’t recall ever in 40 years of changing the direction a weapon was pointed when I pulled the trigger to a different point at which I released the trigger. On this idea, if your shooting downrange when you pull the trigger, your weapon will naturally be pointing in the same direction when you release it? Or are you the type of person (or know those who are) that hold the trigger after pulling it, then proceed to put it away while still holding the trigger?

      • Ap... July 11, 2016, 8:42 am

Yo… Lol. If you didn’t notice with this trigger you can set it to semi or binary fire… so like the smart one’s have been saying, “in the hands of a RESPONSIBLE gun owner” you don’t always have to have this trigger set to shoot twice every pull… so unless you don’t know how to work a safety switch you should be ready for the second shot or just put it back on semi and shoot normally… don’t be ignorant please

  • borg February 5, 2016, 12:42 am

During a high stress self defense situations this trigger feature may cause unnecessary double taps when the first shot already stopped the threat.

    • ratman127 April 3, 2016, 9:35 am

There’s no such animal as ” unnecessary double taps ” when your life is on the line and you are doing your utmost to stop the threat to yourself and/or family.
If you can’t control your weapon, then you shouldn’t have it….

  • Armageddon February 4, 2016, 8:43 pm

I have a Sig Sauer AR-15 5.56 NATO and was wondering if this new Binary Trigger System for $399.00 will work for it, or if it is just for the Franklin Armory .308s. Has anyone tried this yet?

    • James McCormick March 31, 2016, 10:40 pm

Sorry, I believe the Sig is proprietary and this firing system will not work. This system is for AR-15/M-16, DPMS 308 type lower trigger systems that are replaceable with Mil Spec systems. I don’t own one but I do have the same Sig you’re talking about and I have replaced firing systems in other AR style receivers, the 308 and AR-15 take the same system, the sig is different. I hope this helps, like I said this is my thoughts and I may be mistaken.

  • Boss February 4, 2016, 8:23 pm

I’m not sure why all the fear and loathing. Having used the M16A1 (full auto) in combat, I see the selector switch is turned to the full auto position.
When you turn the selector switch to FA you intend to shoot FA, in this case double tap, but either way there is conscious knowledge and intent to do what you are doing. As for an ND on round two, I can’t imagine someone walking around holding the trigger back.
If you don’t want to shoot the second round turn it to safe or semi.
I’m not sure how an RO can call a cease fire I the middle of a trigger pull but turn it to safe unload and lock the bolt to the rear just like you do normally.
Point is, If you use standard safety procedures you will be fine.

“I’m all in favor of keeping dangerous weapons out of the hands of fools. Let’s start with typewriters.” – Frank Lloyd Wright

People will pair the Binary Trigger with a slide fire stock and truly have found a new way to empty their wallet thru the bore. This is the only angst I can fathom for this mechanism.

    • GOOSE February 15, 2016, 9:50 pm

I was reading along thinking these people realey should not have guns ,there stupid dont thay remember that he put it in that mode oh and by the way he or she can take it out of that mode pending there was enough brains involved in pickng it up or purchasing it. Then I read the artical writen by BOSS 2/4/16 and thought I realey dont have to say anything else this guy already did and a good job of it I might add, figures x milatary give em hell BOSS!

Maybe someone will use bumpfire and this trigger at the same time. Wouldn’t THAT just frost some asshats?

    • Eric Kevitt February 5, 2016, 12:24 am

Yes it would but,… My guess is that it would out run the bolt every time,… at least that is a problem that can happen just by pulling the trigger to fast naturally….

      • dhconner February 10, 2016, 3:21 pm

The German MG42, “Hitler’s Buzzsaw”, fired 1200 rounds a minute and was the most feared gun in Europe. GI’s knew things were going to hell when they heard that firing, and admitted they were scared to death of it. Of course, we have electric Gatling guns that fire upwards of 6,000 rounds in some versions of 7.62, but I’m not sure they are deployed on armored vehicles or not. Any of you young active or recently retired soldiers, swabbies, or airmen know anything about that? I believe The Israeli’s have done it with APC/BRT type carriers, but I don’t know that for sure either. I do believe that would really raise hell n the battlefield. Next to black soldiers. who were the most hated soldiers in Nam because their skin didn’t reflect light, especially at night, the Spectre AC-130 gunship (“Spooky: and “Puff”) was the 2nd most hated thing by the VC and NVA. Every 5th round was a tracer, and firing the gun produced what looked like a solid red bar of light sweeping through the sky, Talk about running Charlies as to the ground. There ain’t much of any place to run once that started, and it saved thousands of lives by sweeping out the shit. There may come a day when this Franklin trigger system will be just as appreciated. Outrunning the bolt? Maybe a heavier spring? Will wonders never cease?

  • a February 4, 2016, 4:57 pm

We all know there could be circumstances where dumping a few double taps or more than a hand full of rounds as quickly as possible in the direction of a multiple target threat, and then it could be useful.
Also, anyone who practices (as they should with new gear) should become familiar enough to use it properly.
    I want one.
Also, you could just put an Allen head screw threaded into the side as a lock out so it does not “accidentally” become engaged by someone untrained in it’s operation.

  • David February 4, 2016, 3:57 pm

Technically and safety wise this is a “Bubba’s Barn Little Shop of Horrors bad idea, that will end in tears”
We all know three rounds burst triggers is a good firearm engineering idea. In the other hand, Press and Release Fire triggers until the time the shooter gets familiar with there will be lots of unintended shoots fire, which have the potential to do more harm than good.
Kudos to Franklin Armory for coming up with a new marketing $$$$$$$ idea targeted at the most technically oblivious AR15 shooters.
Keep in mind that no Gun Magazine features and article praising a firearm or product unless the manufacturer or marketer buys advertisement with them $$$$$$$ and sends the writer free samples usually better tune and of higher quality than those produced for the retail market.
Ignorance is not bless, because it has detrimental consequences

  • deerhttr February 4, 2016, 3:57 pm

I don’t see any safety issue here. It is all about living in a free country. I feel small cars are unsafe. Doesn’t mean I think
they should not be sold. Law enforcement might love the new trigger so they can get a quicker double tap. This discussion
should not be about safety or usefulness of the product. It is about the freedom to buy and own what you want. People
died so we could have freedom in our country so don’t be so quick to give it up. Some of our freedoms are taken away every day. Like they say “Cook the frog slowly so he doesn’t know what is going on” The way it is going many people are acting like frogs. Let them sell the trigger. If there is problems nobody will buy it. It is the American way of doing things.

        • Joe February 7, 2016, 12:37 am

I agree with both men, our freedoms are paramount, however its foolishness like this trigger and the OPs language that makes our cause harder to fight. Guns are tools, and serious gunners typically handle them with care, but there are many occasions when this does not happen, and saying our freedom is more important than real people getting hurt, just makes the hammer comes down harder on our rights to maintain the simplest of freedoms when it comes to protecting ourselves with weapons. The more we use this freedom language to build up our right to have toys, the more often the politicians, and sheeple will try to tear down our right to possess tools that can save our lives, our families lives, and other innocent by-standards. I’m all for innovation, I’m just saying lets make distinctions and pick the battles worth fighting.

          • Scott free August 8, 2016, 8:27 pm

Show me people getting hurt are the idiot Darwin Award winners. This is an idea that’s time is due. The only people I hear complaining are the pro NFA guys they don’t have a problem sucking the government’s dick, which they don’t have a real argument they just have to try this safety nonsense. I own one of these it runs good only a complete buffoon what harm themselves or someone else with it unintentionally. Just get over it it’s better than the slide fire stocks… stop being so cheap and just pick one up.

          • Michael Z. Williamson May 3, 2017, 1:27 am

When someone says, “I support freedom, but,” I stop listening, because if they’re lying in their opening, there is no reason to believe anything else they have to say is credible or relevant.

      • dhconner February 10, 2016, 2:56 pm

If you are so enraged by others ideas of freedom you need to be a good little boy, go home, tie yourself back to Momma’s apron strings, and suck your thumb. What do you care – you are not the guy paying the freight. What if we say you don’t need whatever brand of car you drive and should get a trike? Each of us could sit and let our “Chicken Little” minds run wild, as some already have. For the Sweet Love of Christ, freedom is the point, and if freedom is crap, I invite you to move to North Korea where, presumably, you will be happier. There is nothing illegal, immoral, or unethical about this piece of machinery, the makers, or the users. Each takes responsibility for his actions, and that is all that should concern you. Whether you like it or not nobody cares in the least little bit. This is a brilliant design, a gutsy maker, and a useful product. I’ve got a Geissele SS A trigger group. Does that make me a bad guy too? Maybe I need a trigger that takes a mule to pull it? This just as much about freedom as the asinine ideas legislators and the Obasturd administration cme up with to restrict our 2nd amendment and other freedoms, like this stupid and unconstitutional hate speech and hate crime bullshit. Who cares why they commit a crime? It’s a crime to begin with. An as for speech, if a you call a black guy a nigger and he busts your nose, tough shit. The US Suprrme Court has stated recognition of words that are fighting words, and the word nigger is one of those, I think, what you say in your own house is your business. Nobody cares. First degree murder is still just murder, no more or less, and the reason for it carries no weight. If anyone doesn’t posses enough self-confidence and intelligence to use this trigger group as it is meant to be used, then they have no business buying one or commenting on it. Stick to your single action revolvers and single shot rifles and shotguns and shut up . Those of us who want it are going to get it, and there is not a damn thing you can do about it. Except whine and attempt to pontificate as you already have, which will change nothing, except make you feel better. Maybe Mommy should rub your tummy and pat your head and get you a nice pacifier. They gave us full auto M14’s in 65, and they weren’t heavy enough like a BAR to maintain control. Then they took ’em away and gave us Mattel toys that got a lot of good Marines killed because they were too sensitive to dirt, burned powder, and had to be cleaned damned near every time they fired than one round. Now the M4 is a highly reliable weapon, but it’s taken 50 years to get it there. The M14 was the child of the M1 Garand, a highly reliable and powerful rifle – I wish I had the one I was issued.a, and it didn’t need incessant cleaning. I’ll close with this: All you “Chicken Littles” are right – you do not need one and shouldn’t have one, because you are too insecure to master it. “This rifle is mine, There are many like it, but this one is mine. I must master it as I must master myself……” is the beginning of the Marine Rifleman’s Creed. If you can’t master it, leave it alone, for you cannot master yourself either, and would be dangerous to yourself and everybody else with one.

Wow….what a bunch of wusses on here. WHO GIVES A FLYING CRAP what anti-gunners think??? I can see plenty of excellent uses for this trigger. Those of you worried about this sound like you are afraid of your own shadows. I was at our local gun shop the other day and a couple of young men(early 20’s) were looking at different rifles, the sales person set a S&W M&P 15 in front of them and one of the (hipster looking) young men looking kinda shocked said ” I am all about the 2nd Amendment but really…nobody needs one of these” you could here a pin drop in the place….about 10 seconds went by and then a 60 something year old walked up to them and said “Those are the dumbest words I have ever heard, gentlemen we need to talk about the 2nd Amendment” turns out he was a sheriff, and let me tell you he set those guys right, Quit your bitching, support our industry in all it’s forms instead of sounding like media cowed ninny’s!

    • rt66paul February 4, 2016, 5:48 pm

Maybe he was right – in a world where no one has one, no one needs one of these. Maybe he used a poor choice of words. There are many times when I look at firearms and say to myself, “self, I can’t imagine wanting or needing that thing, why would anyone want one or even use one?”
Maybe he wasn’t for the 2nd amendment or maybe he just wasn’t thinking when he made his statement. Even if we don’t like what he said, that is covered by a previous amendment.
To me, firearms are tools, serious tools that need to be used carefully and with great finesse. Others see them as toys and dream up uses they can be put to. Now, I loved playing on motorcycles, but it was only myself that got hurt. Playing with firearms irresponsibly can easily get someone hurt, so, while I do not see a reason for a particular firearm design, I hope and pray that when you choose to use a firearm as a toy, you do so safely.

  • Tenpoint February 4, 2016, 2:54 pm

I had to read this twice. Seriously? Someone thought this product was a good idea? This is truly an accident waiting to happen.
And good luck holding/re-gaining your sight picture.

    • Michael Z. Williamson May 3, 2017, 1:31 am

Obviously, you have never fired a burst weapon, nor a release trigger. Therefore, your opinion of this device is irrelevant to me, as I’ve done both.

  • Paul February 4, 2016, 2:40 pm

Not sure this is safe….I get that there’s a selector, but what if you have it in the duplex position and fire a shot and then decide you don’t want to fire a second? That’s certainly conceivable in any sort of defensive use scenario. Or, the range officer calls “cease fire” and you gotta be the guy who has to fire one more after that? What do you then do, hold the trigger back while you slip your thumb up and move the selector to “safe”? At least for me, this is a solution looking for a problem since most of us already know how to fire a double tap. To each his own but it’s probably not for me.

    • Jade February 4, 2016, 3:59 pm

Read the article, if you pull the trigger while it is in the binary fire mode but decide you do not want it to fire on the trigger reset you just put the selector on safe and it disengages the trigger for the second shot. A lot of knee jerk reactions to this….the media has you guys all terrified.

  • Rafael February 4, 2016, 1:53 pm

That trigger will be the demise of Franklin. Who was the designer of that??? Was he using the new Core Math for designers??? I don’t have a place for a gun like that as it is potentially dangerous, unless the rep. made a mistake on the demo!!! This is an accident waiting for a place to happen. Good luck with that “invention” that will lead to close you doors!

    • the heretic February 4, 2016, 3:19 pm

any firearm/trigger that does something unexpected than for which it was designed can be really bad…
this was designed to be a reliable and controllable double tap trigger and that is what it does, no different then the “burst mode triggers” of the past… i’m getting one because i can

      • Wiseman February 5, 2016, 1:29 am

I\’m getting one because I can!! Heard that!! Smart man!!

  • The Steve February 4, 2016, 1:50 pm

I replaced the pins holding my AR-180 trigger mechanism with a pair that a machinist made for me. They were really tight, but I forced them in. The gun fired when I pulled the trigger, and again when I released it, every time. I replaced the trigger mechanism immediately.

    • Michael Z. Williamson May 3, 2017, 1:38 am

That was a broken trigger assembly. This one is designed to do this. Sort of like a dragster is designed to run faster than a street car.

  • Pseudomind February 4, 2016, 1:16 pm

Would it be so hard to list the overall length of the Franklin Amort M4 SBR M instead of the break us pinned to make it not an SBR. Even their site does not give the length specification.

  • KMacK February 4, 2016, 1:12 pm

I had a rifle that did that twenty years ago, an old M-1 carbine. The trigger wasn’t special, it was damaged.
Additionally, some shyster D.A. will claim that NFA approval aside, the binary action makes it an illegal weapon regardless of what the Fed says.

    • Michael Z. Williamson May 3, 2017, 1:47 am

What I’ve learned from these boards is I should never modify a gun, never shoot a gun, never even think about a gun other than a double barreled shotgun, in case some DA decides it’s probable cause for something.

Actually, what I’ve really learned is most gun owners are cowards who don’t need one, because they’ll never have the guts to even uncase it, much less pull the trigger.

Also, release triggers have existed for decades, and this falls under the same category as my gatling gun. It takes constant action to make it fire each time, therefore it is semiauto.

  • Ben Dover February 4, 2016, 1:00 pm

I\’m probably going to buy it anyways but why is everything so expensive. Everything that Im looking at the shot show seems over priced and long wait times. This trigger is over priced im placing my order rite now dammit !!!!! I would even pay extra for next day shipment I need this. Just can\’t let me wife know how much I spent.

  • Robert Smith February 4, 2016, 11:40 am

I am pro gun and second amendment, but I do agree this trigger in the wrong hands could make us all look bad . It is a great toy though .

    • SkyGunner February 4, 2016, 12:09 pm

The thing about ‘ being in the wrong hands’ is even if the trigger Haden denied to us, the wrong hands would still have gotten all they wanted. That’s one thing that these libnazi’s don’t understand, if they succeeded in dis-arming us, it wouldn’t even slow them down in their acquisition of good firearms and easier to do anything they wanted to, because they would be armed, thanks to libnazi’s we wouldn’t be.

  • Rick February 4, 2016, 11:30 am

Thinking outside the box.Thats great. Use your head and think of what you’re doing.Should not have any problems. I love the fact that if it can be done, man will find a way to do it.I’m getting one just because I can,not because I need it.(trigger that is,can’t afford the gun).

  • Dave February 4, 2016, 11:25 am

My dad had an AR with a broken trigger group that would work just like the binary and it didn’t cost him anything. It did get him some stern looks and comments from RO’s though. Now suddenly it’s a thing. Who’d a thunk it? LOL

    • Michael Z. Williamson May 3, 2017, 1:52 am

Because the broken trigger was not working as intended. Just like one might buy a weed burner with a 24″ flame but be unhappy if the propane torch did the same thing.

  • Greg Meyer February 4, 2016, 10:50 am

Price point–price point–price point– What’s the point? What ever happened to the simple word price? Price point.

  • Todd Brewer February 4, 2016, 10:32 am

I’d like to know how long this will remain “approved”.
Remember the drop in trigger retimers from the 80’s for Mini 14’s. Exact same principle except the safety feature. Just retiming the sear to release before the main trigger sear can engage. Works great but is still in a very grey area the way the law is written.

  • Jeff February 4, 2016, 10:19 am

Can’t believe I’m seeing so many negative comments regarding this binary trigger setup. I never considered the bump stock a good idea, however, this new trigger appears to have much potential for sending a bunch of lead down range while practicing or realizing a defensive situation. I’m planning on trying one out on a 9mm Angstadt Arms built that’s in the works.

  • RON February 4, 2016, 10:17 am

Just saying this binary trigger would make a sweet addition to my 3 gun rifle double tapping those targets isn’t hard already but that would make it an almost sure thing. In that aplication of it I think it could be nice.

  • mka February 4, 2016, 10:04 am

This is a lawsuit waiting to happen.Goodby Franklin, wehardly knew ye.

  • nick February 4, 2016, 9:40 am

Two THOUSAND Six HUNDRED Dollars! ($2600.00) Add that little device that helps you to empty your Mags in 1/2 the time and you’re at THREE Thousand ONE Hundred TWENTY FOUR Dollars and Ninety Eight Cents PLUS Shipping! ($3124.98)………Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!!!!!!!!

  • JMClark February 4, 2016, 9:31 am

Binary Trigger. Another toy for those with more money than focus. Keeping RSO gainfully employed.

  • Clinton February 4, 2016, 9:31 am

Hey, all that’s scared of the anti gunners! They already have ammo against us, we have guns. They don’t care about nothing but taking our guns, and they want be happy until we have none. So I could care less what upsets the liberal communist anti gunners! Are we free are not!? We should have the right to buy whatever arms we can afford. The 2nd amendment confirms our right to self preservation against enemies or tyranny, if the government turns completely tyrannical, you can’t fight them with muskets! Theres My 2 cents worth.

    • Tat2dMFr February 9, 2016, 6:20 pm

Jeezuz, We do not need to be so militant and talk shit all the time. 2nd amendment people are using this to paint all gun owners as a bunch of rednecks that are scary and confrontational. Don’t play into that shit and enforce their perceptions. Please use your manners and use logic and facts when disagreeing with their stance. They have a powerful lobby and I want to keep my guns.

  • George February 4, 2016, 9:22 am

Why in Hell does anybody need a binary trigger. This is just insane. This will prove just plain dangerous for the everyday shooter. BAD idea.

    • Dan February 4, 2016, 10:03 am

“Why in Hell does anybody need a 30 round magazine. This is just insane. This will prove just plain dangerous for the everyday shooter. BAD idea.”

      • Spotted Crow February 4, 2016, 10:26 am

Hey, I got a Idea, If you don’t like this , DONT buy it…Damn Crooked Liberals, And for another thing, You Liberals should look up the word liberal, Cause your NOT…. And one more thing The Dick Act of 1912-13 says we can have anything we can afford and it CANNOT be repealed!!!! 99% of Americans have no Idea what the 2nd Amendment is for, It has Nothing to do with hunting!!! Nothing to do with protecting our selves or our families, Get a clue… Its to keep our Government in check…

        • Peter Krzywicki February 4, 2016, 11:58 am

You are 100% right. Although I run Geissele triggers. With the SSA first time out averaged about 400 rds a minute. Just a waste of ammo. I think the binary trigger is just another toy. Same as bump fire. With a Geissele trigger, you are guaranteed that the trigger wont let you down when you need it most.

          • dhconner February 10, 2016, 3:03 pm

I’ve got the same trigger but (and you’ll laugh at this- I would) I’ve never pulled the trigger once since I had it installed (I do that so I’ve got somebody I can go back to if problematic). had no idea it would pump ot that many rounds so fast. Looks like I’ll have to buy more beta C-mags or Surefire 100 round sticks Thanks for the grin your comment put on my face.

      • Scott free August 8, 2016, 8:36 pm

Google LA riots… then Google Liberty… then if you still don’t get it book your self a flight out of this country as you will never get it

    • Mark February 4, 2016, 10:12 am

“Why the hell does anyone need an assault rifle or machine gun or any type of firearm. Its a BAD idea………..”

Listen to what you say! you sound like an idiot anti gunner

      • Mal Cap February 4, 2016, 12:46 pm

Why the hell do you need to drive a vehicle with an automatic transmission? Most people drive dangerously and a (bolt action) stick shift transmission is much safer. I think that’s what you should be relegated. Just a thought.

      • Evan February 4, 2016, 6:44 pm

There’s a huge difference. Unlike rifles that look scary, this thing is actually unsafe. This is a device designed to ND a round. It fires when you release the trigger, not like full auto or bumpfire or that 3MR trigger that came out last year. When you take your finger off the trigger, a gun should not shoot. This makes it do just that. Hence, it is unsafe. Instead of spending $500 on this lunacy, why not donate that money towards getting the Hughes Amendment scrapped so we can all buy actual full auto weapons and nobody would want this poor and unsafe substitute.

        • dhconner February 10, 2016, 3:48 pm

Hence, you are disqualified from owning one by reason of being unable to follow instructions. I don’t know what you do for a living, but I’ll bet you are one hard due to work with. It would be more like you working against than with. My God, man!! If you can’t follow instructions, you ought not posses any mechanical or electronic thing. Is putting your clothing and socks and shoes on in the morning hard for you? Did you ever here the word “machine-gun”? Look up the ATF regulations or your state law definitions. Get a grip, Man!! THE SKY IS NOT FALLING!!

    • George 2 February 4, 2016, 10:21 am

Jeez, you and some of the other wailing ninnies in this thread should take a damn chill pill. If it wasn’t for the illegal, last minute addition to the FOPA of 1986, there would still be plenty of legal full auto weapons out there for law abiding Americans to enjoy.

The “everyday shooter” isn’t going to spend the $400+ to buy and install one of these so quit yer bitching. This is perfectly legal and, given it has a 3rd position for the selector, about as non-confusing as it can get. Unless, of course, you appear to be like some folks here with a room temperature IQ who are apparently worried about what the anti gun people think. Which has to be the most STUPID thing I’ve read in a long time.

Who gives a crap if this makes Bloomberg or others wet their pants? News Flash; they ALREADY hate everything we own so a damn trigger isn’t going to make a difference. I won’t buy one because I am a manufacturer and can legally make machine guns but for the guy in the street, why not? Its about time we got rid of this asinine attitude about being worried what others think. If it’s legal, then its allowed.

    • Eric Holder February 4, 2016, 10:58 am

Sometimes I wonder why I am not in an insane asylum?………………….., then I look around and think, maybe I already am.
Would write more but I am drinking alcohol, texting and driving in my C7 Corvette, still cannot figure why I bought this car that does 3 times the legal speed limit? Now I remember just making things bad for the other drivers.

    • dhconner February 10, 2016, 3:59 pm

The BAD IDEA is your ideation and it’s inherent insanity. Do you want to be Der Leider, Der Fuerher, or just plain old Hitler? “Everybody wants to rule the world” goes the song, and it looks like you belong in the Clinton Fifth Column. Your thinking puts you smack dab in the middle of her camp, my boy.

    • Pst February 17, 2016, 9:45 pm

Why does any one need a car that will go 200mph? Where can they drive it over 85. We ought to fix all cars so you can not drive faster than 85 after all its the law. You can be the first one to take your car to the shop and have it repaired with the new safety device. If your a good American that is.

  • Mitch Spence February 4, 2016, 8:21 am

Anything to keep folks from practicing and becoming an accomplished marksman. A new twist on the term, no-brainer.

  • RON February 4, 2016, 8:18 am

From the comments looks like you have anti gunners on commit list.
I thanks it a great item, and do not take away might rights

  • Greg February 4, 2016, 8:16 am

So long as it is tied to the 3rd selector position, there should be no surprises to the shooter.

  • JB February 4, 2016, 8:00 am

I agree with some of the thoughts above; this is thinking outside the box, but irrationally. Those of us reading here aren’t the ones to worry about, but rather the idiot that will make us all look bad……like the public thinking all motorcyclists are the moron on a rocket wearing shorts and a tshirt and splitting lanes.

  • Ron Ercole February 4, 2016, 7:50 am

Another unnecessary source of fuel for antis!

    • Mark February 4, 2016, 10:15 am

If they would not have closed the NFA machine gun registry and made machine gun so prohibitively expensive these triggers would not exist.

  • Joe February 4, 2016, 7:39 am

This trigger is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

    • Mitch Spence February 4, 2016, 8:23 am

      Yessir! See Dillons’ “response” below.

  • Dan February 4, 2016, 7:22 am

Now, give the dumb anti guners some more Ammo to fight with! Dah!

  • Dillon February 4, 2016, 7:10 am

I am curious to see how the review will go, its a very interesting concept. I want one…it would be one more party trick to put in the bag.

  • greg February 4, 2016, 6:59 am

he said available on the binary order mine 4 weeks ago and still waiting

  • Evan February 4, 2016, 4:40 am

That trigger is an ND device. It serves zero purpose and is inherently unsafe. Shame on them for even considering making something like that.

    • SmithWessonMP February 4, 2016, 9:09 am

I had a ‘broken’ AR trigger once that behaved just like that. It started doing it one day at the range and scared the hell out of me. I guess I should have sold it for big $.

      • dhconner February 10, 2016, 3:51 pm

Yeah – I got the trigger on my M1A too light and it doubled. So I did a tiny bit more stock removal in the right place in the trigger and it went back to it’s staid old self – 1 pull & 1 shot fired.

  • 2B or not 2B 2A February 4, 2016, 3:25 am

May take some geting used to, but hey, I could get used to it real fast. Now this is thinking outside of the box.
