While Freedom Munitions has spent the last few years carving out a strong reputation for offering a lot of value for the money with its ammo line, it has just decided to do the same in the firearms realm. New for 2016 and introduced at the 2016 NRA Annual Meetings by Freedom Munitions is the Seekins Precision GI Rifle.
The 16-inch-barreled carbine is chambered in .223 Wylde and packs in Seekins Precision quality at a very affordable price of $950. The heart of the carbine is its Seekins Precision barrel that features Armorblak coating, a 1-in-8-inch rate of twist and is topped off with a 1/2×28 TPI A2X flash suppressor. Surrounding the barrel and the carbine’s low-profile gas block is a12-inch Seekins Precision MCSR M-LOK free-floating handguard.
Rounding out the package is an ambidextrous safety selector, oversized triggerguard, Mission First Tactical minimalist buttstock and matching pistol grip, a mil-spec M16 bolt carrier group, and mil-spec trigger.
Also new from Freedom Munitions is its Boar Buster ammunition. Sold in boxes of 50 rounds, the new Boar Buster is a .223 round featuring a 64-grain projectile and designed to function perfectly in modern sporting rifles. The ammunition features Vihtavuori powder and a Nosler Bonded Performance bullet. The result is a round designed to take down feral hogs, bears and other animals with thick hides. The Nosler bullet is designed for reliable feeding in AR-style rifles as well as controlled expansion, weight retention and deep penetration. It is designed to stay intact and create a more devastating temporary and permanent wound cavity.
