Walking into the Heckler & Koch booth at SHOT Show 2016 we were greeted by their full catalog on display, but the focus was squarely on their latest guns, the P30SK, and the VP40. Fans of the brand still have reason to be optimistic for new launches in 2016. The company has been launching guns as they are ready, instead of saving them up for one big annual show. They’ve been slowly refining the existing pistols, and building caliber options, too.

If you missed either of our reviews on the new HK pistols that were launched at last year’s SHOT Show, we’re here to help. Follow the links below.

The P30SK is a polymer-framed subcompact pistol designed with concealed-carry in mind. It has the same trigger systems, magazines, and ergonomics of the full-size P30, making it the ideal backup pistol or summer weather alternative for anyone who carries a P30. Like the P30, the P30SK has interchangeable grip panels and back-straps, allowing shooters to adjust the grip to fit their hands with more than two dozen possible grip configurations.

The VP40 is a polymer-framed striker-fired full-size pistol, a real modernized duty weapon. Owing to the striker-fired action this gun is much more user-friendly than a traditional double-action/single-action pistol with a manual safety or decocker. The VP40 has replaceable grip panels and backstraps like the P30, P30SK, and VP9 allowing the user to mold the gun to their hand.

Bought my P30SK and carry nothing else. Outstanding trigger on this pistol. Short trigger take up and nice clean trigger pull.
Only problem that I have with this gun is if you reload, like I do it only likes RN bullets. Has a problem with Berry’s FN
Bullets. Lands and groves must run right up to the chamber. Other than that it is a outstanding pistol

Beautiful gun which I would consider buying. I own the HK45CT and I absolutely love it!

I am delighted to see the VP 30 available with safety and decocker mode (Variant 1 on my USP’s) Although I also own a Glock and M&P, I am in favor of more than a “Trigger Safety” on a carry gun. I also have several XDm’s and consider the grip safety a viable alternative as well.

I was really hoping they were going to release a VP9SK or VP45. Those would be awesome.

Personaly I happen to think the P 30 is a beautiful looking weapon one that I would definitely were on my side, I love a weapon that feels like you have one on your side and in a 9mm / 40 cal. Good choice you have my 100 percent. I would definitely buy one.
