Holder’s shocking Fast & Furious email

Send to Kindle

Attorney General Eric Holder is not a fan of House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA).

Probably because Issa, along with Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), led the probe into the ATF’s botched gunrunning program known as Operation Fast and Furious, which Holder’s Justice Department oversaw during his tenure.

Holder’s disdain for Issa was made apparent in an internal DOJ email that was released on Wednesday as part of the disclosure of thousands of other subpoenaed documents related to the fatally-flawed operation that sent upwards of 2,000 firearms south of the border into the hands of known cartel operatives.

In the email, Holder responds to DOJ official Gary Grindler who wrote, “This keeps escalating,” with respect to Issa’s plan to subpoena former Associate Deputy Attorney General Matthew Axelrod to testify.

Holder states the following:

Ok. We have to be careful. His decision has to truly be his. If he testifies so be it.

Issa and his idiot cronies never gave a damn about this when all that was happening was that thousands of Mexicans were being killed with guns from our country. All they want to do- in reality- is cripple ATF and suck up to the gun lobby. Politics at its worst- maybe the media will get it.

Justice would be served if this criminal faced a firing squad.
After his ass was drilled and pounded until his inmates wore all the lipstick off.
Guilty of accessory to murder, illegal gun running, perjury, and looking like a cross between Oprah’s husband and a South American sloth

Yeah that. Orange is a good color for Holder. It’s better than the blood red he served up to a bunch of people in 2 countries.

And? Who cares what Holder thinks of Issa? What I care about is who was the idiot who devised this lame-brained plan, and who authorized it. Obviously Holder tried to cover it up–it was an embarrassment to his department and to the administration, and it seems, particularly in view of Holder’s remarks here, that, whether as part of the plan or part of the cover-up, Holder used F&F as a means to impose new disclosure requirements on FFLs in the South West, requirements he would have liked to have applied all across the board. But that is not the real crime here. Fast & Furious itself was the crime, and some day I hope we get to the bottom of it (or the top of it, as the case may be).
