Say what? What’s really insane is that the all-democrat audience applauded wildly when the person currently in the White House said it. What did he say? “Right now, people on the no-fly list can walk into a store and buy a gun. That is insane. If you’re too dangerous to board a plane, you’re too dangerous, by definition, to buy a gun.” That’s a direct quote from Barack Hussein Obama.

This person took an oath “to preserve, protect and defend” our Constitution. Yet he would deny people their fundamental constitutional human and civil rights based on, what, exactly? It’s a list maintained by his administration with no known parameters for adding people to the list. It was started by George W. Bush after the Muslim jihad struck the World Trade Towers in 2001, with about 400 names. Under Obama, the list grew to 10,000 names in 2011, 21,000 in 2012, and 47,000 in 2013, according to Wikipedia. The separate Terrorism Watch List reportedly had more than one million names by 2009 — and the lists are mutually exclusive, you can be on one and not the other.

What are people on the no-fly list charged with? Nothing. Convicted of anything? No. How do they get on the list? It’s a secret. I asked FBI agents at the Las Vegas SHOT Show in January 2016 about all this and confirmed those answers.

Who maintains the list? Police. Federal police actually, from the Terrorist Screening Center, an FBI branch you can’t deal with. They prefer to be called agents. A secret police list (we’re not supposed to have secret police anything here in this supposedly free country) denies your rights, and Obama’s side — the Democrats — are cheering. Half the country, give or take, votes democrat. For shame. This man’s proposal is a disgrace, a violation of his oath, grounds for removal from office, according to leading experts.

How Does This No-Fly List Work?

People have not even thought about the mechanics of this. Can people on the no-fly list just walk past the TSA checkpoint, screening devices, bomb swabs and X-rays with a gun, or knife or bomb? Normal people can’t (or so we’re told). Don’t those safeguards work on them-is that why we even need a no-fly list? Maybe checkpoints are just a feel-good scam to keep us in line like the skeptics say, and the no-fly list makes sense?

Obama didn’t say, and “reporters” didn’t ask. It must be too obvious to question. Either the devices don’t work at all, or those people are really dangerous-they could down an aircraft with a karate chop. Who are these people? (It’s a secret, don’t ask.)

If they’re that dangerous, why are they still walking around free? (Oh, that’s easy, they haven’t been convicted of anything, or even charged.) Can they still take Amtrak to Cincinnati, or a bus, or car, or walk? Yes. So they just can’t fly there-they’re free to go, just not by plane. Why, that doesn’t even make sense! Don’t ask. You might end up on the secret list. Actually, the list of false positives is huge. I met one, a three-year old girl. Everyone knows Ted Kennedy was listed.

Mr. Obama wants to turn an arbitrary no-fly list into an equally arbitrary no-buy list, he announces it publicly with a straight face, and calls you insane if you object. Are there no limits to the man’s hubris? He cannot possibly be too dim to fail to understand what he is doing. Are his supporters really brain dead like Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (jpfo.org) suspect?

And by implication, if you can’t buy a gun, you certainly can’t have any of the guns you already own, right? Those must be contraband under the same logic, and should be confiscated, by the same agents who carefully put you on the list in the first place.

This is a flat-out attempt to confiscate guns based on a government list with no controls, no due process, abrogation of the rule of law, and wild cheering support from one side of the political aisle.

The analogy is to a colored-shirt movement last century in Europe that led to World War II.

If ever we had a criminal mentality in charge, there it is on a platter.

The no fly list is updated daily, I worked for a charter jet company and we got additions to the list every week. We had access to the list could scan it easily.

    • coltman February 21, 2016, 3:13 pm

Almost everyone has thousands of folks in the US with the same identical name. When I was attending college years ago, actually decades ago, there were 2 people out of 16 thousand with the same uncommon name as mine. I have called in a couple of thousand background checks and have had many people delayed on gun purchases who have no criminal record and even current law enforcement and military personnel with no record. Updates to the no fly list is great but there are many more additions than subtractions. Is there a corrupt anti gun individual adding names? Maybe another Lois Lerner, Hillary, Obama clone who don’t believe in some Constitutional Rights unless it fits their agenda. The stated agenda of liberal anti gunners is to eliminant gun ownership. It’s a shame the no fly list could be used as a tool to hinder gun ownership of the innocent. Law enforcement is constantly hindered by anti-profilers who want to import terrorists and illegal aliens into the US. The same folks want to eliminate voter i.d.’s so they can get the votes of illegals. “Change” promised by our current unconstitutional executive order elite has proven to be change for the worst. Flying is not a constutional right! Gun ownership is! The no fly list should not be a no Constitutional right list.

The tens of thousands of names on no fly lists for unknown reasons with no crime record could become millions. How can the Obamanation government deny people constitutional rights of the 2nd amendment when they have committed no crime! Obama wants to give voting rights back to convicted felon murderers and drug dealers but deny honest law abiding American of the gun RIGHTS. Doubt what I’m saying? Obama’s favorite 2 examples of common sense gun control is Britain and Australia both of which began with registration and ended with confiscation and destruction of their once legally owned guns. He has used this “common sense” example over and over. Most gun ownership in Europe has been eliminated by liberal socialist governments. This IS the example that Obama has used over and over. Don’t defend Obama because you made the mistake of voting for him. We have witnessed his “fundamental change” for 7 years. Europe’s and Australia’s citizens are now in the cross hairs of millions of of Muslim terrorists and sympathisers also know as “refugees”. Evidently it’s o.k. for Hillary to ramrod arms through to overthrow Kadafi in Libya and Assad in Syria which helped arm Isis, but it’s not ok for an honest law abiding American citizen to own a gun because his name is on a flawed no fly list for no reason.

Once upon a time you could come late to a movie, and see it over until “this is where we came in”. We were starting to get answers about these secret lists, when obozo interrupted our progress. We had to work to get answers. We still don’t know what department handles them, how to get on/off etc. But magically, they are now the cure all for a precieved problem. This being terrorism. This time it’s terrorism. There are some other answers like limited immigration or continued observation of mosques, but those would make certain peoples feel “uncomfortable”. Us Americans are feeling pretty uncomfortable too………

I’m sure that the Jews in Germany thought that wearing yellow stars and being relocated was ok too, until they ended up in concentration camps!
Things happen progressively, not all at once. You can boil a frog slowly and he will just sit there and die. Throw him in boiling water and he will leap out. That is what is happening in America. Step by step we are being led to a shower / gas chamber.

I would love to run all the agents, officials elected and otherwise through the no-fly list. Let’s then call for no-fly-listers to be stripped of appointed and elective office, drivers licenses, professional practice licenses, all of which can be used to inflict serious damage to the U.S. by those bad, bad people. “The best way to get a bad law repealed is to enforce it strictly.” – Abraham Lincoln

    • William February 19, 2016, 6:05 pm

I’ve always wished all politicians would be required to perform and pass a background test and polygraph as a part of the qualifying process to run for office! BUT – in reality, that would probably eliminate more than 90% of who’s in office now…..

      Sad…..

      • praharin February 19, 2016, 9:00 pm

You say that like it’s a bad thing. 90% could be eliminated, not replaced and life would go on.

  • d'Lynn February 19, 2016, 11:37 am

One part of this that I think is getting over-looked.., is just how arbitrary the No-Fly List is., with virtually no rules or over-site, or recourse. It will be interesting to see just how many people are placed on that list – how fast and how large the list will become. A method of gun control for what is perceived as the enemies of the State ? You’re the leader of a Militia Group., so they place you on the No Fly List.., now you can’t buy a weapon – but does that also mean you can not “own” a weapon ? If so…, Knock-Knock !

  • RL February 19, 2016, 11:28 am

This no fly list will either be the end of America as we know it or will eventually get thrown out by the Supreme Court.
Can a person on the No Fly List qualify for a job working as a Train Conductor on Amtrak or the NYC Subway? Can they work as a school bus driver? can they work as a city bus driver?
Do we let them work in schools at all?
Can they work in a power plant? in a chemical factory? Can they work in a hospital?
Are they permitted to work in banks? or do all of these employers have rules preventing these dangerous terrorists, so dangerous that we will unilaterally strip them of citizenship and take away their rights without due process, from working for them? If they are so dangerous how come no one extended the no fly list to include these persons from all of these kinds of sensitive jobs as well, where one flick of a switch or turn of a knob can kill thousands and devastate a city?
The answer is that the “no fly list” was a stupid, ill thought out “knee jerk reaction” to the form of terrorism used in the last traunch of terror, aircraft. But tomorrow some chemical bomb will go off somewhere and then we will all say “how come the guy on the no fly list had the ability to buy chemicals or fertilizer at a local store?” or god forbid, some school bus will run off a cliff, and it will turn out that no one checked if the guy / gal driving our children was on the no fly list but given the job anyway.
Its a slippery slope but in my humble opinion, its not worth giving up liberty for this. Either prosecute them and put them in prison or lift the stupid ban altogether.

  • Geo February 19, 2016, 11:19 am

This “no fly list” is the first step towards punishing people for crimes that “they might commit”. Expanding it to firearms ownership is the logical tyrannical next step.

Who controls The Pope? (I.e.: “The Vicor of Jesus Christ”)
Why did he go to Cuba and not denounce the Communist he dined with, as not being good Christians?
Time to decide who’s team your on….

Who controls The Pope? (I.e.: “The Vicor of Jesus Christ”?

With each passing day, this Pope proves that he’s more Commie than Catholic.

      • Harold February 19, 2016, 12:33 pm

I see another unintelligent religious bigot. You need to read and also seek instructions to understanding the Bible. Then one day you will become a Christian. A Christian becomes a priest with their knowledge and shares it with others. All might not welcome the knowledge but they have it. The Pope is doing what OUR Jesus want all Christians to do, something that many Christians are not doing. I don’t hear or read of any other religious denominations going to Cuba to spread God’s words. However, the radical Islamic & Satan are aggressively spreading hatred. Communism is not the biggest threat to the USA or the world, radical Islamic groups are. Even China and Russia will have to face the evil ISIS soon. Sadly there are so many ignorant fools who write many comments without the slightest knowledge in the hell what they are talking about. They can spew out the BS without being seen, such as you. You cannot change a person belief unless you tell and show them something different, using the Bible as proof.

        • mike February 20, 2016, 3:27 am

you are a a fanatic in your own right. when did God tell the pope he was supposed to be the pope? I don’t remember hearing it. i have no problem with anybody following any religion because it is not my business and your choice of philosophy isn’t hurting anyone. how do you know what Jesus wants us to do and how do you know the pope knows these things? You act like Cubans don’t believe in God. keep buying into the bullshit known as the Vatican.

i think the charlton heston rule is now in play. the government can have my gun(s) when they are empty and can be pried from my cold dead hands. those who come know they are violating the constitution and their widows should hold the president accountable for your death. God forgive me for those who die at my hands when they come for my guns.

  • D.Tros February 19, 2016, 10:00 am

Expressing our opinions on here is similar to voting. It makes us feel like we are participating. Obama and the next, Hillary, are puppets controlled by those behind the scenes (Call me a conspiracy theorist if you like). They aren’t dump but they are bought and they will do what they are told. That’s how they got there. For the U.S. to roll into a global government, they must get control of the guns and they will. They plan to get the group of gun owners small enough, to that if they do have to take them, there won’t be millions. How? By continuing to make the group smalling by their tactics and also by continuing to use the propaganda machine to convince the masses. They’ve been doing it for many years but it does seem like they are speeding things up. There is much talk now about doing away with $50 and $100 bills. Just one more step towards electronic currency, where they can track and control all expenditures. This sounds all too familiar!

    • American February 19, 2016, 11:45 am

Remember the Bill of Rights Number 1 = Freedom of speech.Anyone can make a comment, right or wrong ,like it or not, agree or disagree. Keep talking, keep your guns oiled and watch out for the other guy.

  • imnevergivingin February 19, 2016, 9:10 am

see? I tried to tell everyone Obama was nothing but a big dummy! Even he, the “Oh so brilliant Constitutional law expert” doesn’t seem to understand that here in America we citizens have rights and none of those rights can be taken away on a whim just to suit some Liberal democrats fantasy of what life should be like. Putting people on a “No Fly” list without anyway for them to know they are on it is bad enough but then, doing so without any due process and making it very hard to prove your innocence and get your name removed from said list (the fact that you should even HAVE to in the first place is just another example of Liberalism run amuck!) is about as unconstitutional and wrong as it gets, and for the President of our country to try and do so or even agree with the though of doing so proves the man is unfit to be in any leadership position let alone to go around saying he is some type of Constitutional Scholar! Taking away someone’s right to bear arms because some government nobody thinks there is a reason that there may be a chance that they may or may not be some sort of terrorist or just have some information of terroristic activities is total BS and is NOT what this country’s about nor is it going to keep anyone safe! Just because you cant fly it doesn’t prove you are going to go buy a gun and shoot people. Jesus… whats wrong with our fellow countrymen and women? have they all got scrambled brains?

    • Richard February 19, 2016, 10:13 am

      YES!!

    • Jake February 19, 2016, 11:49 am

Our brilliant “Constitutional scholar” was a guest lecturer because someone with powerful Chicago connections was able to force the University to give him an office to work out of for a semester or two. Most likely it was Bill Ayer’s father who was the CEO of Commonwealth Edison. He has no more education in the Constitution than any other law school graduate.
If he is so brilliant how did he get disbarred? He is a poseur when it comes to anything about the law.

    • praharin February 19, 2016, 9:08 pm

Knowing, understanding and teaching about the US Constitution have nothing to do with upholding it. Believing that Obama is unintelligent is a very dangerous mistake.

  • Palpatine February 19, 2016, 8:20 am

BHO….Just put everyone on the “No-Fly” list and have them now defend the reason why or how they can buy a gun. The 2nd amendment is curtailed and voila.

    • Gregory Romeu February 19, 2016, 8:59 am

Palpatine? Sounds like some kind of a sporadic condition of the sphinkter valve because it obviously does not sound as if there is any viable reason for it to be roaming the planet that’s any kind of a useful source.

    • igotguns February 19, 2016, 9:19 am

I would love to see that list and see just how many Liberal dems are on it compared to Republicans…Not even counting the Muslims and people from African nations where there’s a lot of Muslims and others from Middle eastern countries,
just count American libs and repubs… I bet there’s more repubs on it than dems! this government has it in for us and they will stop at nothing to take down the republican party at all costs! From the war on Christianity to racism to our guns, they are out to make us all look like crazy, murderous lunatics! Im not saying the Repubs are a bunch of choir boys, lord knows we aren’t but the Libs? they are the worst. At least most republican citizens are friendly, helpful, god fearing, Proud, patriotic, true blue Americans, Maybe some of our politicians can be greedy selfish f***s… but Libs? they are rotten through and through…from Barack, right on down to the Liberal d-bag sitting across from me here at work who can be ok but is always being a liberal d**k!

False Information and Rumors are carried by Haters, spread byFools, and accepted by Idiots

  • Thomas Herrington February 19, 2016, 7:55 am

You should really read the history of Germany before, during and after WWII. A madman and his cohorts slowly but completely took over the government of a major country. They twisted civil liberties to the point where there were none. They were Fascists who believed that everyone should live to support the government (them) and that everyone is a cog in the machine. If the machine could not use you, you were destroyed as useless trash. No person ever is useless trash! No person should be destroyed because they do not fit the “needs” of the current government!
I do not believe that any major part of our government is Fascist, but the slippery slope must be prevented. Right now there is a “no-fly” list that removes a person’s civil liberty without due process of law. There is no oversight of the “no-fly” list. There is no process to remove a person’s name from the “no-fly” list. There is no process to review why you are on the “no-fly” list. And now different parts of the government want to use a secret list to strip people of their civil liberties without the due process of law.
I question the value of the “no-fly” list. I question the process of being assigned to the “no-fly” list. I question any government that needs a “no-fly” list without due process of law. I question every government that uses a secret list to deny civil liberties to any citizen. (Does this start to sound like Germany before WWII?)
I do understand the need for security; after all I lock my house, vehicle and business every day. I do understand for the need for secrecy, there are things in my life that I do not want other persons discovering. (Those things are not illegal, but just embarrassing.) But the courts have a method of dealing with sensitive issues. Why is the list “secret?” Why is there no process for challenging being on the list? Just the idea of a secret list makes my American skin crawl!
The Constitution is a malleable document, but that malleability comes from the correct process of adding an Amendment to the Constitution, not through any part of the government destroying a person’s civil rights except through the due process of law. Why does any part of our government want to restrict our civil liberties? To control us under the guise of protecting us! Citizens are adults. Adults understand the consequences of their actions. We do not need a government denying us civil liberties just because the say-so.
Our government was originally guided by the principle of “government of the people, by the people and for the people.” Over time we have tripped up and realized that “the people” did not include those we disliked and then we changed that to include all the people (see the 14th Amendment). Why are we taking a step backwards? Are you attempting to tell me that a bureaucrat knows enough to strip civil liberties just on their say-so? That is against the 14th Amendment!
Get rid of the secrecy around the “no-fly” list. Provide a means for challenging being on the list. Provide the correct rule of law, not some bureaucratic process that is kept secret. This is what the USA is about! This is the beauty of our government!

“No person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.”

Fifth Amendment, Bill of Rights, US Constitution.

So if some faceless bureaucrat in the bowels of the national security state arbitrarily adds your name to a secret government black list, your Second AMendment rights go out the window? How exactly does that constitute “due process of law”? And how does our insistence that the fedgov follow the Constitution make us “ultra-conservative”?

If you think that I am a terrorist, then swear out a probable cause affidavit and ask a magistrate to issue a warrant for my arrest. We’ll try the issue in a court of law before a jury of my peers. Otherwise take your take your secret government black list and go pound sand.

This treasonous administration is a disgrace to the name America. The nation has been on a downslope to tyranny for 7 miserable years, with one to go. If the witch or the old fool are elected, the process will be complete, and we can all get used to our new lives in the 3rd World of misery, corruption, crime, poverty, disease, and general hopelessness under a one party government NOT by and for the People! Voters will need to take a big dose of Sani-Flush to Congress and the WH in November. As far as the SC is concerned, it should be elective, not appointed, and only for 8 years, not forever until dead! Lock and load; you may need to be ready should a public uprising occur in this decade.

    • Ram6 February 19, 2016, 8:04 am

I agree about the terms of the SCOTUS. Appointed doesn’t bother me but they should be for 10 years like the FBI director. That would preclude them being totally beholden to the President.

I Don’t know of a single gun “confiscation” incident , other than from convicted felos who are rightly barred from owning any firearms at all. There are no “gun grabbers” hiding under your beds .Get over it! I still enjoy reading this blog every day. just to to see what kind of wild ideas are swirling around out there It scaresme that each of your votes count as much as mine! The craziest notion
I’veever heard is that there is a conspiracy to load jetliner exhausts with aluminum dust to make “contrails” which will reflect the sun’s energy back into space and end all life on earth.I have a friend who is an A&P mechanic in charge of maintaining the entire fleet of UPS international freight jets and he just laughs at this So should you. By the way, I am a 50 year pilot and former aerospace engineer and gun owner since age 13.

Check out the confiscations going on in New York, Connecticut and Chicago. I don’t affiliate with either party but the dems have a long and brutal history. Remember the kkk grew out of the Democratic party. I agree that a lot of the hype is just that but when the government starts trying to get around the highest of our laws and nobody stands up our country will be nothing but masters and slaves. I don’t want to chance it. Do you? LEAVE OUR RIGHTS ALONE!!!!

          Cyrus:
it’s not like the ass-wipe we have for a governor wouldn’t want to confiscate; he’s doing his best to make ownership/carry as difficult as he can. I live in CT too, and any confiscators will get a decidedly unfriendly reception at my door…

      • Steinar February 19, 2016, 4:15 pm

You obviously do not know the difference between restricted freedoms when it comes to firearms, and total freedom. .My state doesn’t restrict the possession of any firearm or accessories, as long as you follow Federal Firearms Laws.. Your State has banned certain rifles and limited the capability of magazines. How could you be so enchanted with your laws

    • Tom Horn February 17, 2016, 6:16 pm

      Mr. G.,

You are like a man standing in the city of Pompeii in 79AD, saying, “Hey, don’t worry. That mountain grumbles all the time. Pay it no attention.”

Please join the NRA, or your State Firearms Association. They will send you weekly updates on the attacks against our 2nd Amendment Rights. They are so numerous across this Nation, that it will make your head spin, and hopefully open your eyes and mind.

      • Ricky J February 19, 2016, 7:30 am

I am an NRA life member , and can tell you the NRA does not keep me informed. The only thing I get from them is mail asking for more money. I am also a graduate of the NRA gunsmith summer courses that they give , and was a certified NRA pistol & rifle instructor that do to my wife’s MS and my heart condition failed to pay the $20 a year fee for my certification so they NRA will not let me reinstate my certification until I go pay to attend another certification course. they are all about getting your money. As a Gunsmith running a shop at my home in NY state I came under fire from the town I lived in. When I call the NRA for help they said they would do nothing for me , I was on my own.

I was in NC when my truck broke down. I was approached by a county sheriff that asked me if I had a gun and I responded with a yes the deputy ask where it was I told him I had a ccw permit (2 of them , one from NY and one from PA which is reciprocal with NC ) and that I had the gun on me he grabbed the gun and put me under arrest for carrying a concealed weapon. I called the NRA for help and again they said they could not help. the County DA would not prosecute knowing I had broken no laws. The judge would not release my gun and again the NRA did nothing when call. The worse thing was this judge was endorsed and supported by the NRA .

I am ashamed to say that I had over the almost ten years I was full time in the gun business that I had given over a hundred people discounts on there bill to purchase or repair a gun if they joined the NRA . For the last six year I try to get people to join the Gun Owners of America. They are the real deal. that has stood up for gun owners everywhere in the US where they are needed. They took the city of Chicago all the way to the SCOUS in the Heller case not the NRA.

        • rappini February 19, 2016, 8:18 am

I agree about GOA I think I will change my membership.

          • Tom Horn February 19, 2016, 6:24 pm

            Ricky an rappini,

This is definitely not a time to stand apart, fraction off into different camps, and bicker between us. We must stand united as firearms owners if we are going to rescue our 2nd Amendment Rights. Gun Owner’s of America, and the 2nd Amendment Foundation are excellent groups. My point: Take Action!

The NRA was never meant to be your personal attorney. They have taken on many Supreme Court cases (eg. see: NRA vs Chicago).

I regularly receive an e-mail update from NRA-Institute of Legislative Action. You can view it here: https://www.nraila.org/email/grassroots-alerts/2016/vol-23-no-6-02122016/

    • BUURGA February 19, 2016, 4:04 am

There were incidents of home owner’s guns being taken by force by police during Katrina. If a person is ARRESTED, a judge can order all of the person’s firearms confiscated FROM HIS HOME if the arrest is gun related. If you are such a concerned and focused individual, spare us the ‘paranoid fantasy’ routine. People at traffic stops have had firearms confiscated, even though some had concealed carry permits. There is indeed ‘a gun grabbing mentality in some of our political leaders – read some of Feinstein’s thoughts on the subject. If you are who you say you are, and I have my doubts, you should know better. Are ‘they’ coming to get our guns, of course not, yet. That does not mean that vigilance should not be maintained. The question of exactly how does a person gets on the no-fly list is certainly reasonable and possibly very revealing.

    • Mr Robert Anton Novak February 19, 2016, 5:30 am

What about the illegal gun confiscation during Katrina? Or how about vets who are having their second amendment rights stripped and guns taken because of PTSD?

Beginning January 1, police in California may confiscate firearms from gun owners thought to be a danger to themselves or others without giving the owner any notice.

This is the result of the implementation of “gun violence restraining orders” (GVROs), which go into effect New Year’s Day
So tell me again how no one is out to confiscate our guns. Both Owevomit and Hildebitch want guns to be confiscated like Australia and England did. Both are on record as saying that this is something we ought to look deeper into implementing here.

Say Liberal G, remind us all again how smart you are as a once aerospace engineer, yet you can not answer a challenge put before you! In my humble opinion you are just another troll on the internet with nothing but coming out from under your bed to stir up *HIT. If your so smart then maybe you should look into all of the current administrations un-constitutional violations that no one cares to prosecute or even charge the current president with, even thought they are right there in front of the whole world and America to see and read for themselves! There is a reason for this, think about it, if you can!

    • chuck February 19, 2016, 8:15 am

If you don’t know of a single gun confiscation incident then you are living in a dream world. They happen all over America, every day.

    • Guntoter February 21, 2016, 11:28 pm

Liberal G, You have a modicum of education but seriously lack a comprehensive knowledge of recent history. I have studied World War ll history for more than 30 years, and the many dozens of books in my library ,abundantly portray the fallacy of your position. One quote ,paraphrased , by Adolph Hitler, after he persuaded the German people to vote FOR gun registration and approved by an overwhelming margin, said, “NOW OUR STREETS WILL BE SAFER, YOU WILL BE MORE SECURE IN YOUR HOMES, AND THE OTHER NATIONS WILL NOW FOLLOW US INTO THE NEXT CENTURY.
Not just confiscation, but EXECUTION if found in possession of a gun , resulting in thousands of innocent deaths.
The vast majority of highest ranking Democrat politicians strongly favor ,AND URGE, violation of citizens 2nd amendment rights. . NOW— I vote NAVDI— N ever A nother V ote for a D emocrat or I ncumbent.

  • SuperG February 15, 2016, 5:35 pm

Senator Ted Kennedy was put on the list, and it took his office 3 weeks to get him off it. So I doubt that the average citizen has a chance of getting themselves removed. Do you know what got Ted on the list? A potential terrorist has used the alias of T. Kennedy. Our government has run amok, and our Orwellian nightmare nears.

    • David in CO February 19, 2016, 11:04 am

SuperG, I concur. I personally know a man who served in the special forces in Vietnam who was denied during a NIC for a firearm purchase. Now this gentleman has no criminal record. Come to find out, he was also on a no-fly list. He had to appeal the ruling twice before finally getting it straight and being allowed to purchase a gun. And if my understanding is correct, the ATFBE is no longer hearing appeals. So, if you get on some list and fail the NIC, tough luck. No gun for you… ever. I can’t make the stretch that this is an intentional step toward confiscation, but what Obama is doing certainly bypasses due process. My guess is, the same folks that are cheering because Apple is refusing to give access to the Terrorist’s iPhone because of constitutional privacy considerations, were the same folks cheering about Obama’s stance on the no-fly lists. Unfortunately, we can’t have it both ways. That is, unless we remove that pesky obstacle to totalitarianism called the Constitution.

  • Tom Horn February 15, 2016, 4:50 pm

The liberals are like children, pulling the covers over their heads to protect themselves from the monster in the closet. With the loss of Freedom’s Best Friend, the Honorable Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, the liberals are poised to make their totalitarian dreams come true.

I am always amazed at the folks who post on Guns America, who say, “It can’t happen here.” The person who may have stopped it from happening just passed on. The U.S. Constitution means nothing to the liberals. It is a plastic document, meant to be changed, to them.

Saying, “Molon labe!” doesn’t scare these folks a bit. They have no real skin in the game. They will send their dupes to toss an incendiary device into your home and cremate you like they were taking out the trash, and won’t even break a nail doing it.

The coming elections are critical. Not only will we be choosing the person who will make further appointments to the Supreme Court, but we will also be choosing the representatives we send to Washington to approve those appointments. Get out and vote. Support the NRA and your State’s firearms associations that are on the front lines fighting for our 2nd Amendment rights.

  • taxx73 February 15, 2016, 1:49 pm

I know 3 people that were put on the no fly list. One of them is a good friend. He has been denied his right of due process. He found out that his old neighbor called the ATF saying that my friend had” more guns than one person should have.” My friend is a collector and a lot of his guns are from the Korean war or earlier. No one has ever come to talk or search or charge him or his collection. He found out when he needed to go to South Carolina for his mom’s funeral. He ended up taking Amtrack. It has taken almost 2 years to even find out why he’s on the list. All the government tells him and his lawyer “good luck getting of the list. Once on you can’t get off.” Does this sound like America? We need to change it to if convicted or under indictment then your put on the list. If acquitted then the name must be removed.
All that the current government lists do is allow the government to get around the constitution.
    LEAVE OUR RIGHTS ALONE!!!!!!!

    • Aaron G February 15, 2016, 10:20 pm

Sounds like that neighbor needs to grow a pair and talk to people before reporting them. Yeah, that’s a problem. If I had the money, I’d be collecting. Got a huge wish list that I’m drooling over.

This guy’s ridiculous. He’s trying to pontificate and dictate like a gott-dammed aristocrat I’ll bet he’s from England,or wants to be. He’s a prime example of how effective the “dumbing down of America” process is working. And by the way,i’m not liberal or conservative.I’m just a hard working, clear thinking honest average American man that believes in good old fashioned COMMON SENSE.

  • Aaron G February 15, 2016, 12:39 pm

It sounds like you’re reaching to say prohibiting sales would lead to confiscation. An effort to seize firearms from the population would require immense regulation and I cannot see it being very successful. I think this is a good article, and it raises solid points. I can’t help but suspect tin foil hats were involved when an absolute objective statement is made such as “this is a flat out attempt to confiscate” without any supporting evidence.

Common sense would dictate that affiliating with terrorist organizations or ideals would be the only way to justify being put on a list like that. Can anyone who is on the list speak to being put on it unjustly? I don’t think it’s unreasonable to prohibit affiliates of known terrorists from buying firearms. I praise your article for asking questions and being on your guard. I just don’t see the merit in drawing conclusions.

    • Timmy February 19, 2016, 5:08 am

I agree that proven associates of terrorists should not buy guns, but how do you get on the list? Appears that people can be added for no reason, and misidentification is common. Once on the list, you are riding the bus and would be disarmed, without due process.

How many people depend on air travel for their livelihood? Effectively, for no reason you can be barred from chosen employment and potentially disarmed. Where do we live that this can be cheered by Democrats (the party of demagoguery and the KKK?)

It’s a witch hunt, and they’ve already lit the pyre. And are currently running amuck pointing fingers at everyone that has a witch’s teat, sneezes differently, or just happens to look a little different. Sad but true.

Hmmm sounds like the way right wing ultra conservative nut jobs treat democrats and minorities. Interesting to see how you act when the shoe is on the other foot. Well not interesting – more like expected, hilarious, despicable, sanctimonious, hypocritical, and flat out absurd.
